"Spiderpaw, me a poppy seed and some cobwebs. I'd also like our remaining supply of merrigold." he meowed with remorse. He wished they had more, but it just wasn't enough, the fire had burned it all and this kit and Loudpaw needed it more. The grey tom hoped that wet moss and cobwebs would do them till new-leaf, but he doubted it. They needed more supplies and a bigger den. He also needed more time to get everyone's wounds healed, but he knew Eaglestar wouldn't do that, he knew she would keep them moving. Foxstar wouldn't have.

The little medicine cat apprentice squinted as her mentor's tongue rasped gently over her head. She hid a smile at her words, for they were just what Sprucepaw had been about to ask. "Yes, of course." she mewed, nodding her head slowly. Her tail quivered and her paws scuffed the ground faintly; she was eager to be going. Herb-collecting, although a chore to some, was one of her favorite tasks. It got her away from camp and out into the world of learning, and even when Appleleaf was not by her side she still enjoyed the peace and quiet that came with solitude. In fact, sometimes Sprucepaw almost preferred that. Just her and her thoughts, alone. But she was more than happy to have a companion with her, especially her closest friend and instructor.

"Is it that obvious?" asked Eaglestar with a smile. They were lucky so many of the medicine cats had survived the fire--the clan needed them. Her smile faded slightly as she remembered FlameClan's medicine cat. He'd died in the fire, trying to save the elders. She shook her head slightly--a habit of hers, when she was trying to clear her thoughts. "It's not that bad, really." she said, putting her paw back down. "Others need what herbs we have more than I do." She glanced at Sprucepaw. "Are you two going to find more?"

Pineclaw watched Shiverwhisker work, standing a little awkwardly off to the side. "Is there anything I can do to help?" he asked after a moment. He knew little about herbs or healing, but he would do what he could.

"Yes. We barey have enough for Loudpaw and the abandoned kit. I'll find something for you." Appleleaf meowed. She may be the enemy clan's leader, but this was as hard on her as any of us. she thought to herself leading Sprucepaw away from the camp.

Appleleaf walked in time with Sprucepaw, matching her steps to her own. "You know Sprucepaw, I never thought we'd end up like this. With our enemy clans. Leaving the forest we were born into. I don't like these tall grasses and strange cats." Appleleaf confided in her little apprentice. The little cat, barely half her size was all she had left now. Her mother, her best friend and her mentor gone in the fire. "I almost hate StarClan for it." She muttered. "Here Sprucepaw. There's some borrage over here. Now which part of the plant do we use?" Appleleaf asked remembering she couldn't abandon Sprucepaw's training despite the situation.

"Yes, wet moss. We need to clean the little scrap off, it will be easier to tell who he is that way." he meowed, with a nod of his head. [iAnd easier to clean his wounds.[/i] he thought to himself, remembering when Loudpaw had come in. He was covered in soot and and ash and all sorts of trash, Shiverwhisker had to use the rest of his moss to clean him off and he didn't have time to get any more since. He, also, didn't have time to go look for herbs or send Spiderpaw out look for them, he needed his apprentice here to help him.

Spiderpaw nodded and went into the herb storage, looking over at the herbs. He grabbed some cobwebs and rolled them onto his paws, and also grabbed a leaf of poppy seeds and the last bits of marigold they had. They really needed more, and Spiderpaw hoped that someone would be going and getting some. Maybe he'd do that in a bit, depending on what the other Medicine Cats were doing. Going back to Shiverwhisker, the brown and white tom set the supplies down at his mentors feet, and took the cobwebs off his paws. "Here you go, Shiverwhisker." He meowed, tail flicking.

Turning back to Pineclaw, he shrugged and thought about what the tom could to to help.
"The kitten looks like his jaw his hurting him, so I don't think food would be best at the moment.. Telling someone in the clearing that they could get some more marigold would be a good idea, though." He then said, tail flicking.

Frostwing watched as Cloudstrike went over to Pebblerun to ask if anyone else wanted to come. She thought about this with a frown, mixed emotions swirling inside of her. Did she want others to come with them? The more wasn't the merrier, in Frostwing's opinion. However, the clan did need more food, and more cats would do that job. She just hoped that the cats picked weren't ones who looked liked they would eat her once she turned her back to them. Not that a cat would eat another. That was just weird.

Ears pricked, Frostwing intently listened to the deputy's words. Relief washed over her like a wave once she heard that the three other cats were all her old clanmates. All were from RainClan. That was good, and made Frostwing feel a bit more comfortable. However, this whole new arrangement still spooked the poor she-cat, so she flicked her tail and kept her eyes on her paws, not wanting to make any type of scene.

"Wet moss and marigold." Pineclaw repeated, nodding. He had no idea what marigold looked like, but he'd find one of the other medicine cats. They'd know. He got to his paws, turning to leave the den. He looked back. "The kit's name is Stonekit," he added, realizing he'd forgotten to tell them. He looked down at him, then turned back and left the den quickly.
He stalked quickly through the camp, focused on his task. This camp had no real entrance or exit, unlike the sheltered StoneClan camp. He pushed through the grass, heading towards the river. There was sure to be wet moss there, and he could worry about the marigold later. As he left the camp, he broke into a run, ignoring the sting from his sore paws. Burned while trying to save Foxstar when the burning tree trapped her... The warrior ran more quickly, as if the exertion could overcome his grief.

He nodded in acknolagement of the kit's name. "Thank you Spiderpaw. If you want, you can go help Pineclaw, I'm sure he'll need help with the herb finding." his voice was it's usual calm, dimissive-ish tone. It was good to see him falling backing that old habbit, but it was going to take time for all of them to fall back into play. "Or you can go check on Loudpaw, I'm sure he needs something." he meowed, looking at the kit's chin. It didn't seem broken, only cut and bit bruised. He tried to whipe way the ash and soot to get a better look.

Sprucepaw found herself nodding slightly to Eaglestar's question. She let her gaze flit around the temporary camp before hurrying to catch up to her mentor. She sniffed warily as they moved through the unfamiliar terrain, on constant alert. She wished they were back in RainClan's territory, with trees to shelter them. The openness was somewhat unnerving. "I wish it was back to normal too." she mewed sadly in agreement. She flicked her tail as she thought of all the Clanmates they had lost, including her mother, father, and brother. Sprucepaw realized how lucky she was to have Cedarpaw still with her.

She shook her thoughts away as Appleleaf changed the subject to herbs. The pale-furred she-cat sniffed appreciatively at the borage. "The leaves," she searched her mind, "for fevers and nursing queens." she answered, tilting her head. That was correct, wasn't it? Sprucepaw gazed at the borage, then looked to her mentor.

Sephora didn't take long to scent the clan as she neared. The grasses were rather tall here. She hadn't realized how close she was to the temporary camp until she saw a cat dart off, seeming to be headed somewhere rather urgently. She was so used to the first strong scent of a clan meaning boarders... but she had to remind herself that there was no time for boarders when on the move. She perked her ears, hearing the river that the clan had been following, that must be where the warrior was headed. She didn't feel sorry for these cats, life was unfair and always would be. There were reasons she never made strong connections to other cats. Death was a part of life, and it always would be. There has to be an end to everything. So many had a hard time understanding that, but she didn't. She flicked her ears as the tom soon left her sight. She turned to head a bit further away, she didn't feel like having a group find her quite yet.
