The beautiful black she cat shook her head and opened her icy eyes. She glanced around the den a moment, which was quite large. There were many warriors after all, so they needed a bit bigger den. She got up from her nest, and left the den. She saw Moonshadow was over by the prey pile. She headed over to the other she cat, and said “Good morning,” to her. She looked around for Nightfrost, wondering where he was at. She knew it was probably no secret she liked the two, she wasn’t very good at hiding things..

The dark ambery eyed mug eco nodded at the other two cats. He said “Oh, yeah…we should definitely tell her then. Maybe we should actually wait for her to figure out the pairings…Unless you think it’s going to take her awhile longer,” he said to Flamepelt.

The pretty little white she cat was in the apprentice den. None of them had been assigned mentors yet…though she was already two months in. One pink padded paw was over her face. Her pink insided ears twitched a bit, and her light blue eyes were shut tight.

The pretty chocolate pointed cream she cat yawned a bit. Shaking her head, the white marked she cat looked around a moment. Her white tipped tail flicked, and ambery eyes landed on Cheetahpaw and Blizzardbreeze. She said “Good morning,” to them both.

The black furred kit flicked her tail back and forth. She licked at one of her white markings, this one happened to be on her chest. She then stared down at her white paws…before shaking her head and flicking her white tipped tail. Ambery eyes looked to the other kits.

The flame pointed cream kitten yawned and shook his head. Ambery eyes had opened, but he went to close them again. Then he felt his sister moving around beside him, and sighed…He opened his eyes again, and licked at one white paw before looking to Specklekit and Whitekit.

The smaller and slender kitten was up against his two siblings, sleeping against them both. Therefore, he could feel it when one moved. Then Firekit was moving around as well, so the white marked golden kit sighed..He opened ambery eyes and looked to Whitekit and Specklekit, saying “Good morning.”

The leader snapped out of her state. "Oh good morning Creamstorm,"she said shaking her head. "Nothing is bothering me I've just been pondering on who would be best to mentor which apprentice and was considering discussing it with a couple others. Perhaps you would have some insight?" She asked looking at the medicine cat

The large dark tabby apprenticeopened his eyes to glare at the two Apprentices. He asked himself why they couldn't just appreciate that they didn't have anyone to bother them quite yet. He sighed before stretching. "Might as well get up now," he grumbled.

Cheetahpaw set the Thrush down between the two Queens. "Good morning. Sorry if I woke all of you. I figured I'd bring something to eat for all of you," she said happily. "Even though I seem to forget how many kits are here. Would you like me to go fetch something else as well?"

He shook his head a bit with wonder "Ahh, mentors and apprentices huh, well no I am not good at mixing cats together sorry..." he responded to her. Flicking his tail a bit he looked at the clan "Hmm so which pairings you had in mind so far...do you maybe want to have an apprentice to yourself?" he asked her.

He left the warrior's den and padded to the shadowed place near the elder's den as there was this great place to cool down a bit. He didn't really need to cool down as It was not that hot yet, but he kind of liked this part of the camp, especially when he could see anywhere there and the others could likely see him.

She left the den after Swallowpaw, almost immediately seeing the other apprentices there "Good morning everyone, anything nice happened yet?" she asked them all even if she was pretty sure there had not happened anything yet, the camo seemed way too calm and most of the warriors where still there.

She also stopped ear the other apprentices only one missing was Cheetahpaw, who seemed to be at the nursery or her tail showed up there a bit. She gave a small greeting to the others there as she looked around "Wonder if we could have our own mentors today?" she questioned in curiousness.

She shook her head to Cheetahpaw "No, you didn't wake us, or me and my kits anyway, it's our time to get up anyway" she said to the apprentice giving a small nod to the other queen as well "Morning Sunflower" she said to her as she turned to the apprentice again "no need to we adults can get our own preys and the kits can share that one" she meowed to her.

She shook her head a bit "I was already up before you came in, Whitekit wasn't, but I woke him up" she meowed proudly seeing the annoyance in her brother's eyes. She looked at the prey the appearance brought to them, sniffing it a little bit "I guess we can share this one, if our mothers eat something else" she meowed, not saying that she was a little disappointed that she could not eat the whole prey by herself as she was kind of hungry.

He looked at the prey a bit, turning to look at the other queen and her kits too when some of them spoke up. Flicking his ears a bit of the comment his sister made giving the she-kit a little annoyed glare as he didn't really like that she could be proud of making him up.

Nightstar said,"considering personalities and how each of the apprentices acts. Swallowpaw I've noticed is a risk taker and likes to be competitive. So maybe Flamepelt? He's a very responsible cat and might be able to help her distinguish good risk, bad risk, and entirely when to play it safe. I believe skypaw needs challenging so either Redhawk or maybe Maskedfur. Hawkpaw needs to learn some patience. Moonshadow I have considered or maybe Lakeshadow? Cheetahpaw also needs challenging she's been cocky lately and Nightfrost might be a good match. Icepaw needs some structure around training. Slumberfrost has got everything lined up..." She paused thinking about Frostpaw. "I've considered mentoring Frostpaw. Thornstar neglected giving apprentices actual mentors. Even in my training group. I've noticed within myself that it made me into a stronger warrior but it left gaps. Hunting is finally what hunting should have been. And not an extra outlet to fight something that was meant to be eaten..."

The smaller and slender golden and white kitten sighed…He shook his head a couple times, and yawned once more.

Redhawk shuffled out of the warriors den, blinking sheepishly at the warriors already about in camp. "Sorry," he mewed gruffly. "I was engrossed in a bird-hunting dream."

Truthfully, Redhawk hadn't wanted to wake up. Starting each day seeing how small the Clan was compared to how it used to be filled him with a sense of dread that sapped him of his energy. Were they going to make it?? They had kits and apprentices... But it was nowhere near the strength it used to be.

The camp is quieter than it should be. Cats are pretending they aren't as bothered as he is. Perhaps he needs to pretend better?

He approached the group, dipping his head to Flamepelt. "Is this regarding patrols?"

[After Hours]

Winterpaw / Female/ crush: open/ 7 moons / tags: Gentlestream

Winterpaw curled herself deeper and deeper into a ball, trying to force herself to slip away into a peaceful dream. However, since the disband and then reconstruction of her beloved Starlightclan, peaceful sleep became less and less frequent. Will I ever get past the memories of my brutal training sessions as a kit? she thought to herself with a shudder. She breathed out a heavy sigh, and rolled to her other side, attempting to get comfortable. It’s no use, maybe I need to use dirtplace? Groaning, Winterpaw quietly stood up as to not rouse the other sleeping apprentices. Gently sneaking around their huddled bodies, she stepped into the camp where she saw a moving shape in the barley dawn light. It looks like I’m not the only cat who couldn’t sleep.

The moon looked beautiful all night as Gentlestream wandered their territory. Gentlestream hadn’t been able to appreciate their territory’s beauty when Thornstar was leader. Constantly pushing, hunting and torturing prey, being tricked into believing every living thing was an enemy to the clan. She was more than happy that Nightstar was their leader now, even more so happy that she had stuck by her decision to rise against the former treacherous leader. Now she could gaze happily at her home without worrying about being too “soft”. Sighing as she saw the beginnings of the sun peak over the horizon she decided it was time she returned to camp in case anycat wondered where she was. Lightly trekking into the camp clearing she noticed a small white shape slinking towards the dirtplace. “Winterpaw is that you? Could you not sleep?” she breathed. The little white apprentice stared at her with a look of exhaustion, “Did I wake you? I’m sorry, I couldn’t sleep. I’m heading to the dirtplace right now.” Shaking her head, Gentlestream mewed, “No you didn’t wake me at all. I was having trouble sleeping myself. I’ll come with you to dirtplace, we can talk if you’d like.” Winterpaw gave a tight smile and nodded, heading off in the direction of the dirtplace as the sun touched the tree tops.

Comfortably snoring in his den, Dewpaw thought he saw Winterpaw leaving the den, but before he could be sure he closed his eyes again drifting back into a comfortable slumber. Not knowing how much time had passed, he could faintly hear rustling and the sounds of murmuring coming from the clearing. Convincing himself it was worth investigating, he finally opened his amber eyes to see he was the only cat left in the apprentices den. “Crap! What am I still doing in my nest?” Jumping out of his cozy nest he scampered out into the clearing, shaking scraps of moss off of his black and white pelt.

Blinking open her green blue eyes to sunlight, Ivysoar realized she was one of the last warriors in the den. Stretching quickly and running out of the den a second after Redhawk, she settled near the edge of the clearing to groom herself and appear presentable for the day. She wondered when she’d get her first apprentice, and whether or not Nightstar thought she was ready.

The cream tabby male listened to his leader carefully, nodding a few times as the other listed the mentors and apprentices "Hmm, Well those do sound good choices to me" he responded to her. He nodded again "I think one cat mentoring one apprentice is better than mentoring them by groups, there is always a chance that someone will be left behind, as all of use are different and we all learn in different ways..." he meowed to him as he looked around the camp a bit.

She looked over at the young warrior Ivysoar a bit, and she found the older she-cat very pretty, her eyes were very stunning in her eyes. Sighing a bit she looked to Swallowpaw calling out to Dewpaw turning to see the male apprentice as well.

She looked at Hawkpaw "Well all of us could look after her, I mean we also could bring some prey to the queens and kits from time to time as I think that is a task for an apprentice, to even a little bit take care of the clans needs" she meowed to him.
She nodded at the two siblings, shaking her fur a bit as she looked around the camp, flicking her ears a bit toward the apprentice's den as one of the latest apprentices Dewpaw left the den "Morning Dewpaw, you're not late, If you're afraid of that, we all are still there waiting id we could get our mentors decided today" she meowed to the handsome looking tom cat.

She nodded "Yeah You didn't really wake up anyone in here, so don't worry" she meowed a bit stood to her feet, and shook her long silver fur a bit "So is it going to be your big day today? I heard Nightstar may think you all a mentor to teach you" she moewed to Cheetahpaw.

She looked at Cheetahpaw "What do you mean, preparing to an apprentice, is sharing your food preparing?" she asked her confused a bit. She looked at Firekit a bit "Why so gloomy Firekit, is something bothering you?" she asked one of the kits as she noticed him being rather silent.

He sighed a bit "I still think this one prey is too small for all of us, it will not fully feed us for long" he meowed as he looked at the prey there. They were all 4 moons old so they were not as small as a newborn kit was, but he didn't dare to ask if the apprentice could get another one, maybe they could share this and see if they could eat something else later on.

She sighed thinking. "And that i understand. Some cats will excel in one area where another won't. I just hope the warriors can be innovative towards the strengths and where they can be applied to weaknesses." She said thoughtfully. She looked to the clan. "I think I'll make announcement towards it around sun high. "

He chuckled. "I swear Cheetahpaw doesn't sleep. The She cat is always out by dawn. Heck she beats most warriors out of the den." He looked down at icepaw. "Morning icepaw," he said. He shook out his pelt. "Maybe we should see what they want us to do."

Cheetahpaw chuckled. "Well we do share amongst each other. But I mean if I were a kit I'd be taking in as much sleep as I could because once you're an apprentice you could be up early or up late or both. And we do a lot of training which is fun once you get the hang of it. "She looked between the kits and as if she read there mind she changed subject "oh! This might be a little smaller than good sharing Prey for 5 growing kits. I can grab something else too! If it were green leaf and there would've been a well fed rabbit i would've grabbed that and it would've been more filling."

The grey tom said," he's pretty quiet but he's always up for a patrol. "His ears perked hearing Redhawk. "Morning Redhawk. We were discussing who Ravenflight and I were taking on patrol. Didn't realize you hadn't stirred yet." He commented

[After Hours]

Cutting through the thick ferns at the edge of the clearing, Winterpaw used her thick white and tan striped tail to hold the leaves out of Gentlestream’s face. “Oh! Thank you very Winterpaw! That’s very thoughtful of you! You’ll make a great apprentice!” Gentlstream meowed. Winterpaw must have visibly flinched because almost immediately Gentlestream’s deep blue eyes softened to understanding. Winterpaw whipped her head out of view, heat rising on her face.

Seeing the embarrassed look on Winterpaw’s face Gentlestream’s heart twisted with pity for the young cat. Even though all of the cats of Starlightclan suffered under Thornstar’s leadership she understood the younger cats got the worst of it. ”Is that what this is all about?”, she asked as gently as she could. She hoped the young shecat felt she could confide in her. Winterpaw hesitated, obviously thinking of trying to deny it, but finally nodded her head after several moments of silence. ”When I think about training, I get nervous it’ll turn into… that. I know it’ll be nothing like it once was, I just can’t shake this awful feeling creeping under my pelt. Does that make me unloyal?” The little white and cream stripped apprentice looked up at her with such sad green eyes she felt her heart twist into oblivion. ”No cat, and I mean no cat, thinks you’re disloyal. You haven’t done anything besides what you think is right. As long as your heart is in the right place, and you would do anything for your clan, that makes you a very loyal and respectable cat.” The little apprentice brightened, ”You really think so? Thank you Gentlestream.” Flicking Winterpaw affectionately with her thick brown tail Gentlestream’s meowed, ”Let’s get out of here, it’s starting to stink a little.” Winterpaw playfully stuck out her pink tongue and led the way back out to camp. Looking up Gentlestream noticed the sun was rising higher and higher, and the cats of Starlightclan had finally awaken. Catching Slumberfrost’s eye near the elder’s den, Gentlestream made her way over to him calling a greeting as Winterpaw scampered off to join the other apprentices.

“Goodmorning Swallowpaw! Thank the stars I didn’t miss anything! Nightstar would eat my pelt for breakfast!” He glanced thoughtfully over Swallowpaw’s pretty ginger patches, noting how her stripes fit perfectly into them. He was about to comment on them when Winterpaw came skidding up to them. “Good morning you two! Or maybe I should be saying good afternoon to you Dewpaw, what do you think?” Dewpaw felt heat rise under his pelt, “Yeah, yeah! I deserve that. But maybe you’d like to share where you’ve been all morning?” he playfully challenged. Rolling her eyes Winterpaw puffed out her chest, “You never ask a shecat her business, you snarky furball. I just wanted to interrupt before you said something stupid to Swallowpaw.” Winking and scampering off to talk to Hawkpaw, Winterpaw left Dewpaw to awkwardly stare at his white paws with Swallowpaw by his side. Stupid Winterpaw.



Ivysoar / female / crush: open / 15 moons / tags: open

Feeling eyes glancing in her direction, Ivysoar looked up just in time to see Skypaw looking at her. Smiling and waving with her tail, Ivysoar wondered whether or not Skypaw could be a good apprentice. She tries to hard to follow all of the rules, most of the days I’m having to remind myself what the rules even are. I wish I could focus better. She deserves a strong, quick thinker as a mentor. Nothing I could offer would benefit her. Sighing she slipped back into her own head, thinking of all of the apprentices and which ones she felt she could offer anything to. She hung her head as she came up empty pawed.
