Moosestar held his tongue as the warriors spoke, the tip of his fluffy tail twitching curiously. The cats' opinions were
split, it seemed, all making good points. "It would be dangerous," the tom finally mewed. His statement was puctuated by a crash of lightning, as if proving his point. The tom's gaze followed the noise towards the den's mouth, and through the mist, he
could almost make out a silver shape. The figure was only there for a mere moment, just an illusion through the sheet of
the rain, but it was enough to make Moosestar's heart leap, as he was certain it was the familiar shape of Featherleap. For a heart-beat longer the tom stared into the rain, as if trying to will what he thought he'd seen to be real.
Decisevely, Moosestar's gaze whipped back to Tigerlily and the senior warriors. He'd been given all the sign he needed, even if it hadn't been real. "When I was awarded the name Mooseheart," he began, "it was because I took back Sunningrocks. The last victory we had was won following my charge." Moosestar's claws unnsheated, his large white paws kneading the dirt beneath them. "If TranquilClan is anything, we are brave. Every time a cat engages in battle, they're at risk to lose their life, despite the Warrior Code. While it's shameful to murder another cat in a dispute, it is inevitable. As warriors, we accept this risk. No; we relish that risk." It was clear the tom's mind was made up.
The gray-and-white tom stood to his paws. "Once the border patrol returns, I will gather our Clanmates and assemble a battle patrol. I will lead us to Sunningrocks. We'll inspect the river; if it seems uncrossable, we'll follow Tigerlily's idea of using our access to Fourtrees. Mistlespots and Timberfoot - you'll be with me, on the battle patrol. Go see Mothtumble before we leave - tell her to prepare for injuries. Bluewhisker, guard the camp's entrance. Don't let any cat out. We need as many warriors here as possible, to make sure TranquilClan is defended while many of us are gone on this patrol. Alright - let's get started. You're all dismissed. I'll call a meeting as soon as I catch the border patrol's scent."
As the warriors begin to file out of his den, Moosestar let his tail-tip rest on Tigerlily's flank. "Tigerlily, a word please?"

The black-and-white cat had been about to respond to Pumacloud when Flypaw interrupted. She flinched as he thrust his muzzle near hears, his words coming out in a hiss. Tinyfang's ears flattened to her head, and with everything in her, she wanted to slash the tom's nose. As he stomped ahead of the patrol, Tinyfang's claws unsheathed, water splashing her from his paws. A growl rumbled in her throat, and she tried to force her fur flat. When Gorsewhisper spoke, Tinyfang suddenly remembered she was on a patrol - and showing that patrol that she had no control over her apprentice. "Sorry..." she mumbled, embarassment dripping from her tone. Tinyfang bounded after Flypaw, though her paws and heart both felt heavy. I never should have become this cat's mentor. I can't even keep him in line! I've been training him for two moons, and I think he's only gotten worse... Tinyfang trotted behind the tom, her pace slow, and he gaze following her small white paws.

Having been lost in thought, paws on the Oakpaw's tail made the tom jump. "Hey- oh, Plumpaw." Oakpaw mewed as he realized who was there. The tabby tom nodded along to the other apprentice's words. "You're right; I hope Timberfoot doesn't drag me all the way to the moor today...and I hope Thistleflight takes it easy on you, too." Oakpaw flicked his tail towards the leader's den. "Moosestar has had the senior warriors in there all morning. I wonder what they could be talking about...and I hope it doesn't take too much longer. I'm getting bored." To Oakpaw, even a wet pelt was worth having something to do.

For a moment, Icestep just quietly listened. "The life of a kittypet is so different," she finally murmured, deciding to drop the topic of a flood. After all, on a day like that, thinking of such things would just scare a cat. "It would be nice not to have to worry about the elements...no more soggy pelt, not having to worry about how the snow will affect how much prey there is...but I would miss the Clan too much. Even being old and useless in the Clan like us can be fulfilling." Humor glimmered in her eyes and she tapped Frostegret' flank with her tail. "I'm glad you got to join us, Frostegret, and finally taste fresh-kill and see what it's like to live in a group of cats that all care for one another." Icestep's memories of TranquilClan had always been fond. She'd experienced quite a bit of heartache here herself, but to the elder, it was worth it - her life so far in the Clan had been rich with experiences and love.

"You're right, Creamflower," Cherrycloud finally agreed. "I worry too much." The ginger cat's ears pricked and swiveled towards the den's mouth, catching the sound of Rabbitpaw entering. "Oh, good morning, Rabbitpaw," the she-cat purred with a dip of her head. "You made a good choice - fish is Creamflower's favorite!" The queens had spent a lot of time together, being the only residents of the den, save for Ashkit. "I'm not very hungry, but I'll see if Ashkit wasnt a bite."

Ashkit had been sleeping peacefully, and was now awoken by a few firm licks on the top of his head. The tiny gray cat awoke with a massive yawn, rolling onto his side and stretching out his limbs. "Good morning, little one," Cherrycloud purred to him, continuing to groom his pelt. "Rabbitpaw brought a perch. Would you like to share it with Creamflower?"
Ashkit's eyes widened at the announcement by his mother. "Yes please!" He mewed, hopping to his paws. He wasted no time bounding straight towards Rabbitpaw, nearly crashing into her. "Rabbitpaw, Rabbitpaw!" He chirped, weaving around her paws. "Do you think you can take me training with you after we eat? I'm six moons already, you know! I'll be an apprentice any sunrise now! I bet I could keep up with you!"
"You know you can't leave the camp, Ashkit; or even the den in this weather!" Cherrycloud scolded the kit, though it didn't daunt Ashkit; he was still staring up at Rabbitpaw, green eyes glimmering with hope.
