After giving her head a shake, the calico bolted over to the fresh-kill pile before pausing. Why don't I get Lindenfur something to eat. Maybe he's hungry. Then I'll eat. She looked over the choices and frowned softly. What to chose, what to chose. After hissing to her-self the amber eyed apprentice picked out the plump rabbit that Eelstrike had brought in before padding towards the elders den. Once there she poked her head in, hoping that she wasn't disturbing the elder tom. "Lindenfur, I've got a nice plump Rabbit for you."

Ashfang grunted, before speaking," We both know that you might not be picked. There are more experienced cats, than you who've had an apprentice or two." Like Eelstrike, and Featherstorm. He snorted, as his eyes wandered over to Eelstrike, the older tom had been his mentor. The brown and white tom had taught him well, and had even managed to cool the festering aggressiveness to a certain degree. After shaking his head he turned his gaze back to Mintblaze. His mind wandered to the warrior code, something even kits knew and sighed. No cat can become deputy with-out mentoring at least one apprentice. So even if I wanted, I'm pretty sure I'm out of the race.

The she-cat let out a huff," Yeah, yeah I know. But a she-cat can hope right. No need to remind me Ashpaw." She snapped softly. She rolled her blue eyes then mewed," So, How do you think Ivypaw's training is going?" Mintblaze was a strong believer in family, and often though of what was left of hers. The lass's pelt suddenly fluffed up as a rather cold breeze ran past her, and for some reason brought her gaze to the prey pile, though she was as far she should get from hungry.

The spotted tabby turned his amber gaze to Moorheart a fluffy brown tom, a couple of seasons younger than him. He blinked, and tilted his head as the tom made a quiet joke. After heaving a sigh the older tom padded closer to the other lad and sat down next to him. After turning his gaze to Moorheart, he mewed," Well, I don't know much. But I believe Windstar is currently in his den thinking over possible deputies." After a pause, he added," I don't envy him. There are many cats with-in the clan that would make a good deputy. And it'll be doubly hard because Stormfall was Windstar's friend, and his mourning will be worse." He sighed and gave his head a shake before snorting," From what I've heard, Stormfall was killed by some rogues." I wish I had been there. Our deputy might not be dead right now if I had been. He dug his claws into the ground, while the tom was a skilled fighter, he had a silver-tongue and could usually stop fights from breaking out. Sadly because of that fact, he wasn't exactly most cats favorite, he feared that in the past, cats with silver-tongues didn't always end up being the best of cats.
