Blueshadow jumped as she heard her apprentice speak. She had been so deep in thought she hadn't noticed him beside her."Leafpaw! You startled me there."she gave a small purr of amusement, rare for the strict and bitter she-cat."Well you can fetch some if you want."she looked back at her herbs, noticing they could also do with tansy."I'll come with you though. We'll need to carry as many herbs as we can."

falconblaze yawned, having just rising from her nest. she sighed and then walked out of the warriors' den. it was nice being the deputy, she felt respected. of course, she still respected willowstar. she walked over to the fresh-kill pile and picked up a small vole. she finished her vole then walked off to look around the territory since she was bored. when she was out she caught the scent of a loner.

dapplebrair stretched out in her nest, not even feeling like getting up. she would give birth any day now and being so heavy with kits really weighted her down. she purred when she saw her mate. "smokeclaw! thank you," she purred to him. "im sure our kits will enjoy a meal," she said.

speckledfur jumped when he heard a voice and turned around to see willowstar. for a moment he was shocked then he realized that everything before had just been a dream. "morning, willowstar. yes, nightmare," he said with a sigh, trying the flatten his fur.

"I'm sure they will too. They look like it!" Smokeclaw chuckled as he curled up beside Dapplebriar. "How did you sleep?"

Firenose perked up as she heard a cat calling her. She got up and padded over to the tom she recognized as Streamstone. "I'm always hungry!" she purred. "Thanks, Streamstone. Are you hungry, too? We can share it."

Alexander continued to walk along the border, not sure what to do now. He had a full belly, but it seemed that there wasn't much to do other then hunt. Suddenly he picked up the scent of a clan cat, though he wasn't alarmed. He had heard clan cats only attacked if you crossed the border. Finally he spotted Falconblaze and decided he might as well greet her. No need to look suspicious."Hi there!"he called to her.

He nodded, and felt warm inside since he had heard her purr. "That's a good idea Blueshadow, and sorry for startling you." He shuffled out of the den, leading Blueshadow to where the herbs were growing. "Here," he flicked his tail infront of him, directed to where the comfrey was. He grabbed a mouthful, this mouthful had filled his mouth full, and he quickly headed back to the medicine cat's den so he didn't drop any onto the snowy ground. He placed the comfrey into the little place designated for it, making sure it was all neat and tidy. "Need anything else?" He asked as he turned back around, not surprised to see Blueshadow behind him.

She nodded and rested her tail tip on his shoulder. "I'm sorry about that. I know how real nightmares can feel. It's scary until you notice it isn't real." She explained.

Blueshadow gave a small shake of her head as she followed Leafpaw. She wasn't sure how a cat could be so enthusiastic, but it wasn't a bad thing. He worked hard and she knew he was going to make a excellent medicine cat. He still had more to learn though cats could always learn more."We need tansy."she answered after he had gathered the comfrey."But first I am going to quiz you. Best you know what the herbs you gather do."she scented the air, but she knew the tansy wasn't around here."What is comfrey for?"she asked

He thought for a moment, but the answer quickly popped into his head. "It's for mending broken bones- or fractured ones." He added on, trying to remember all the herbs he had been taught so far. "I haven't seen any tansy recently, we might as well look around though." He replied, opening his mouth to scent for it, and not surprised, didn't smell any. "You know where these lands hide herbs better than me, you should lead the way." he said, looking around their surrounding for any herbs they might need.

"Very good!"Blueshadow was happy that her apprentice had remembered what comfrey was for, but there was still many more herbs. Knowing one didn't make you a medicine cat. There were still many other things to learn such as how to interpret signs from starclan and do the best of your clan. Leapfpaw still had time though and there was no need to rush his training. Patience was the key when you were a mentor. Luckily she had somehow found enough patience to get along with her apprentice."Alright, lets find that tansy."she began to lead the way through the snow.

falconblaze narrowed her eyes at the loner as he approached her. "hello," she said to him. "are you a loner?" she asked him, wondering what his story was. he didn't seem hostile so she wouldn't be too hostile till she found out his intent.

dapplebrair purred and took a bite of the rabbit. she loved the taste of rabbit and apparently the kits did too as they were moving all about inside of her. "i slept alright, there have been better nights, especially when you were able to sleep by my side," she told him.

speckledfur smiled and nodded. "yes, exactly," he said, letting out a sigh. at least someone understood how he felt. "how did you sleep, willowstar?" he asked her.
