Both of them looked up at the she-cat's approach. "Good morning, Petal." Thyme mewed softly, dipping his head as beside him Sage murmured a matching greeting. "We're both fine. How are about you?" He asked in return, his head tilting slightly towards his brother as he did.
If Sage knew he was being silently chastised for being 'rude', he didn't react. Instead he just kept his gaze fairly even between Thyme and Petal, as if waiting to see how the conversation would go before he truly joined it. Thyme's ear flicked irritably at this display but he kept his eyes on Petal instead.

Bee looked over at her sister when she heard her say her name. She blinked at her with bright blue eyes before flicking her tail and turning towards the fresh-kill pile, dropping her hare and prancing up to Talon when she saw he was awake. "I heard Frog saying she'll take Mist out to learn some new hunting moves, can we go with them?" She purred, her tail tip twitching with excitement.


Horizon was watching Bee and Moss, dread weighing in her stomach when Bee flicked her tail coldly at her sister before going to her mentor. If only Light was still here... The pale grey, ginger and white kit-mother thought. She returned her attention to Mouse when she heard her speaking. The kit-mother purred loudly at her daughter's question.

Before she could reply, a smooth, gentle voice cut in. "You're a curious one, aren't you?" The voice mewed. Horizon looked up, a little surprised to see Sunteller standing there, the sun from the entrance of the cave glinting on her dark brown, ginger and white tabby pelt.

"It's good to have an interest in things others wouldn't think about." Sunteller mewed, watching Mouse for a moment with a soft gaze. "I was like that as a kit..." The healer trailed off before shaking her head and smiling at Horizon. "If you need anything, don't be afraid to ask." She mewed before taking her leave.


Hiss padded over to Sage, Thyme, and Petal, settling next to him and wrapping his tail around his paws, watching the last of the morning patrol settle into whatever they chose to do inside the cave. "I heard Frog talking about taking Mist out to train. One of us should go with them." He mewed to Sage and Petal.

Moss feels her heart fall like a wasp in a rainstorm as Bee turns away from her. She hangs her head, hurt glinting in her green eyes. This isn't what sisters are supposed to be like... this isn't what was supposed to happen.. The grey shecat unhappily sits near the cave entrance, watching the wind blow over the ashes of her old home.

Frog looks up at the cave ceiling in mock thoughtfulness. "Well, since we hunted at the rocks yesterday, we probably chased away most of the prey. Let's ask Hiss where his patrol went and we can decide from there. Sound good?"

Mouse looks up at Sunteller in awe. She came to talk to me. Me! The kit purrs in joy at the calico shecat's praise. She waves her paws in the air, her blue eyes bright. The kit rolls up into a sitting position, then mews to Horizon. "Horizon, why am I the only kit from my litter? Thyme and Sage are from the same litter, and so are Bee and Moss. But how come I wasn't born with a sibling?"

"I'll go with them." Sage murmured as Hiss walked up to the small group that was forming. Anything to get out of the cave for a bit. He stood as a spoke, flicking at Thyme's ear with the tip of his tail before giving a small nod to Petal. With that he padded towards Frog. "I'll be keeping an eye out while you and Mist train." He told her quietly.

flicking his ear, he gazes towards bee as she makes her way over, asking about going with frog and mist to practice new hunting moves. "i suppose, why don't you go ask frog if we can gain them?" he questions, flicking his tail in the direction of the other hunter. he didn't mind the to-be's attitude, although when it came to her sister she was rather rude. it wouldn't do much to talk to her about it though, it was hard to lose a parent, and she and her sister were much younger then they were when light and his parents died in that eagle attack

before she could respond, sage had already offered to go and left without another word. letting out a sigh, she flicks her tail and returns her attention to thyme. "i'm well, it seems sage is as anti-social as ever though." she meows, glancing back towards thyme's brother for a moment, catching a glimpse of the rather gloomy looking moss. "poor moss, her own sister practically hating her for something she couldn't have done anything about." she huffs sadly, looking down at her paws for a moment as a memory flashed by, her parents being killed by the eagle, her brother covered in his own blood with wounds all over. its a miracle that he lived through it

sitting outside the cave, the black tom watches the horizon with a rather bored expression, his fur fluffed up against the chilly morning breeze. even though the tom was a hunter, he usually liked to sit outside in the mornings, watching as the sun lit up every corner of the mountain and the land beyond. he would probably be sent out on a hunting patrol later with some of his tribe mates, though there wasn't much to do right now since a patrol just came back, led by hiss, one of the guards

Bee nodded excitedly to Talon before bounding over to Frog. "Can me and Talon go with you and Mist?" She mewed, her tail kinking over her back. The dark Siamese to-be shifted from paw to paw, waiting eagerly for Frog's reply.


Hiss followed Petal's gaze to where his to-be was, frowning when he noticed her gloomy state. "I don't think Bee hates her, she's just upset. They were both really close to their father. Bee thinks guards should be able to save everyone, so she thought Moss would be able to save Light." He rose to his paws and looked down at Petal.

"I'm gonna go talk to her, talk to you later." He mewed before padding over to Moss, sitting down next to her.


Horizon purred down at Mouse. "I don't know sweetie. Sometimes the kit-mothers here have only small litters. I don't know, it's always been that way. The most I've ever seen a she-cat have was 3." She leaned down and nuzzled Mouse.

"I remember in the old tribe, the cats that became Pineteller were usually by themselves in the litter. Sunteller is an only kit." Horizon purred. "Maybe you'll be the next Sunteller."

"I wish he'd at least try to socialize with more than just me." Thyme sighed softly, his eyes shifting briefly to look at Sage before returning to Petal. A slight frown, more thoughtful than anything else, both at the second thing Petal said and Hiss's response to it. "It was a tragedy, but it's unfair to blame Moss for it." He noted softly. "The idea of purposely trying to distance yourself from a littermate..." It didn't make sense to him, but maybe that was simply because his littermate was all he had.

Moss lifta her head a whiskerlength, tilting slightly towards the older tom. She smiles in graditide, but it was a halfhearted smile. "They're wrong you know," she murmurs softly, a hoarseness creeping into her mew. "It is my fault."

Frog shakes out her pelt, as her ears had started to itch. She turns to the small siamese as she finished her shake. "Humm, why not." The mostly white shecat shrugged. To be honest, she didn't mind Talon's company, and he might even have a few pointers on Mist's form.

Mouse's blue eyes glitter with awe and joy. "You really think so?" She stands, her tail waving. The kit leaps onto the mossy edge of the nest. "Rawrr! I would be the best Sunteller there was! Except for maybe our Sunteller. She's amazing!"

letting out a soft purr, he watches on as bee asks frog if they can join them excitedly. her personality reminded him a lot of his sister, petal. when they were training as to-bes she was always excited to do things, willing to do her best to get better. letting out a soft huff, he twitches his pale gaze towards his sister, talking to thyme. she was a much more sociable cat than he was, which wasn't bad. if she wasn't the way she is, he would probably be as cold as ash was

letting out a sigh as she watches hiss stand and go, she flicks her ears towards thyme, turning her head to look at him once again. "i was there too, lily and storm were also killed by that eagle. it almost took my brother's life too. if it wasn't for light, i'm sure talon wouldn't be here today." she meows softly, looking towards her tawny brother for a moment. he was covered in scars, a constant reminder to the day their parents were killed. it wasn't fair, none of it was fair but she was always grateful to light. if it wasn't for him and moss stepping in, talon would've definitely died along with their parents and she would have no one to call her kin beside her

standing up silently, the black tom turns and heads back into the cave, twitching his tail back and forth absently. his gaze flickered between his tribemates who were up and talking. as usual no one had approached him, though no one usually approached him unless they needed him for something. he didn't mind it that way, it was less trouble
