He can often be seen sitting near the entrance of camp, sitting vigil in an almost meditative way.
history; As a kit, Thornstep was constantly told that he would grow up to be a medicine cat or a nursery worker, and many members of the clan had little hope of his survival. He was confused as to why his mother always looked so sad around him, and what he had done wrong to hurt her. He was clumsy and slow in nearly every aspect of his training, which only outraged his mentor further and further. His peers constantly teased and complained about his inability to keep up, and secretly whispered about him and how clingy he was to his mother even after he was well into apprenticeship. When his mother fell sick with greencough, Thornstep became panicked and desperate, demanding that something be done to save her. But nothing could be done. After his mother's passing, the Tom became even more reclusive than before, and hope was nearly lost for him. But one day his mentor returned to him and convinced him to continue training. He was older now than all of the other apprentices; all of the apprentices his own age had become warriors almost two moons before he did. But for his mother, Thornstep worked twice as hard to finally pass his training to become a full-fledged warrior.
