Badgerpaw only stared at the she-cat, his blue eyes wide. He had never thought about anything like that before. "Um.. Brightpaw.. I.." Badgerpaw started, his heart racing. "I-I like you too, Brightpaw. I just.. don't know if I should.. my parents- Uh, never mind." He sighed, looking at his paws.

She looked at her paws as she shuffled them around "oh ah it's fine I kinda expected that answer...." She wouldn't look up. Her heart sank and her mind was messed up she thought 'why did I say that I'm a stupid fox brained apprentice! Why can't I just be normal.....' She sighed

Badgerpaw was silent for a moment. He finally looked up at her with sad eyes. He gently nudged her cheek, "Brightpaw, I'm sorry. I really do like you, but I'm afraid to. After what happened to my family I just.. can't."

"Or maybe just share one? The Clan still needs to eat too, and I'm not that hungry." Cinder mewed, lying when she said she wasn't terribly hungry. She was, but she knew the importance of the Clan getting to eat too, so it was best that they shared. She had been wondering about her siblings, wondering if they were okay. She didn't know, and somehow, didn't care. Her brother was here with her and cared for her and loved her. That's all she needed.

He shook his head "it's fine I have to hunt later anyways" he smiled and bounded to the kill pile grabbing a couple of mice and trotting back to cinder "here you can have the bigger one" he mewed and pushed it towards her. He began to eat his mouse after thanking starclan.

She looked up and her eyes looked sad and hurt "I know I know I'm sorry I said anything they hunt with starclan now and watch over you" she mewed

Badgerpaw was silent again. He sighed, "No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up and I shouldn't let that hurt you or anyone else." Badgerpaw looked up at the sky and closed his eyes, letting the sun's warmth calm him.

Cinder smiled greatfully, biting into the mouse. It tasted splendid! Then again, what wouldn't taste good if you hadn't eaten in a few days. The apprentice-aged she-cat was finished with in the half hour. She ran her tongue over her lips then whiskers. "Thank you Stonepaw." she whispered, gently licking his ear in appreciation.

"Where's Cherryleaf?" Dust mewed suddenly, padding out of the den and hurtling off. I chuckled at him. Ginger was looking inside the medicine cat den with interest, flicking her fluffy tail. I sighed. They loved running around. I curled up, purring softly.
