Raccoonstrike emerged in the clearing precisely at the moment of Eaglestar's call. His ears flicked and he trudged towards the scattered band of felines, feeling once again that strange hesitancy when he spotted unfamiliar faces. He pushed that aside as he returned to the Clan, flicking his tail from side to side as he moved. His paws directed him on no decisive path, nor did he care which way he went. He maneuvered among the warriors, head low and eyes dark. One of the nearest cats he did recognize immediately as one of his own FlameClan comrades, Cloudstrike. He dipped his head to the tom, thinking he ought to greet a few cats just to be polite. "Hello," he meowed, trying to keep his voice mildly even--it was threatening to break with sadness.

Cedarpaw yawned widely. He blinked the sleep from his eyes and shifted, feeling the pelt of Sprucepaw against his. He looked up at his sister, but her attention was elsewhere. Snuffling softly, the young tom drew himself up and yawned a second time. He peered blearily around. He must have slept late; it seemed the whole rest of the Clan was awake and active. Cedarpaw licked a paw and swiped it over each spray of whiskers, then shook his pelt and stood up. Sprucepaw glanced at him, he brushed his muzzle against her ear and then padded away. He feared speaking to her--the thoughts clouding his mind were too sad to bother her with. And he was sure she was fighting away grief of her own. The young tom let his gaze drift around the clearing, pondering what to do.

Falconpaw

Falconpaw hesitated to say something, hoping she would be joking. Unfortunately, Eaglestar was serious. She lashed her tail, why was she given some stupid job like this? There were four medicine cats for a reason! Who was this Flameclan cat to boss her around? Then again, she said 'I was wondering if you could...' and that always meant that she had options. They may be strictly limited since its a suggested command, but Falconpaw could always strech those limits. "What if I don't want to do it? You could always get some other apprentice or even a warrior. I think you should try asking someone from Flameclan, I'm sure they'd actually like you." She replied back, her glare never wavering.

Eaglestar lashed her tail in annoyance, before realizing what she was doing and stilling it. She tried to keep her voice calm. "Cats have been injured," she said. "Cats from all of the clans. We're in this together now, and everyone needs to do their part." she continued, hoping to reason with her.

He looked up at pineclaw and nodded. He follwed him and began to hear the other cats "can i stick with you when we get there?" He asked and nuzzled him with his head as a kit showing trust in him.

Pineclaw looked down at the small kit. He couldn't help but remember how he and Foxstar had discussed starting a family, just moons before the fire. He swallowed, feeling a lump in his throat, before leaning down and nuzzling the kit in return. "Sure, kid." he replied, smiling sadly. "I'll look after you."

he smiled and meowed with happiness; he kept walking as the sound of cats got louder. He soon saw the tall grass and looked up at pineclaw "do you think I'll fit in im onlu a kit though i dought anyone will like me?"he asked in a squeaky kit voice. His eyes widned as his tummy growled he looked around and smelt for milk...

"Of course they'll like you." said Pineclaw, nudging him affectionately. "We were all kits once." He pushed through the grass into the clearing, pausing to hold it out of the way for Stonekit. He looked around for any of the medicine cats, or any she-cats who would know how to care for a kit.
