she looked back at the other unicorn and nodded a little, "yep!...well, this is a bakery or a sweet shop- whatever strikes your fancy. but if you are like looking for a shop 'shop' then there's my sister's shop via those stairs..guess its more of a mini-boutique than anything..." if that boutique sells mainly tapestries that is. "but no worry about that, all are welcome, accident or not...here would you like a cupcake?" she offered as she took one that she just made and placed it on top of the display case. "on the house."

on the house? sounded too good to be true, but honestly, she didn't mind. besides- whats one loss worth? she could always make it back in no time...of course by making her sister pay...joking, joking. she wouldn't hear the end of it from spider weaver, let alone their dad.

but...there was one thing bothering her just a teensey bit, "what brings you back down here anyway? just a trip down ol' memory lane?" hoping that question wasn't too personal, calliope gently moved the cupcake over and went to rearrange the display case.

he glanced at them, nodding slowly, "agreed," he mumbled. he turned his head a little when they said that sleeping to much was bad, "and yet i still do it anyway." and as if on cue, merlin yawned, only to cover his mouth with his hoof. "sorry for that," he grumbled. he then looked at them and nodded a little, "he's not that bad though," after all, he has been practicing.

he glanced at them as they answered his question, nodding along. "i suppose that is fair." although he didn't have anything else to add on to the conversation. he honestly did not know what to add on. merlin really hasn't been the one to touch on the subject of death, but he'll listen. although it was interesting to know that chinchillas were nova's favorite animal...or well one of his favorites. "that is fair enough- by the sound of it you do seem to enjoying taking care of them and...well know a lot about them i'm sure."

when they arrived at their shop, she quickly retreated upstairs to her shop, thanking her sister as she had brought a little something for her to quell her hunger until lunch. maybe that is when they should drop buy that little magic shop? something to think about- and maybe mention to their father when they return home. surely he'd be interested in something like that?...probably, probably not.

she smiled a little before opening up the balcony doors to let a little air and sun in this gloomy room. she decided to step out to refresh her brain- clearing the cobwebs out before returning back to her work area- moving across the floor to collect the cobwebs that were gathering in the corners of her shop- and that was when her little spider friend crawled out of her bag and out in the open- more than likely to spin another web. spider weaver greeted milton with a wave- and it waved back before disappearing somewhere in the room. she giggled a little before humming a tune as she got her loom set up for the day.

violet tilted her head a little, raising a hoof to catch her glasses before it slid off of her eyes or face. "is that so?" she thought for a moment, "well, I wouldn't want to turn such an offer down if it means exploring somewhere new." she had the whole town to explore after all, but why not explore the outside of it first? but she frowned a little, furrowing her brows in thought, "but...after you close up shop, correct? I don't want to pull you away from work-" even though she kind of already has, "well, more like...away...from the building," she waved her hoof in a circular motion, trying to help her thought process, but she couldn't explain it very well, but hoped that berry would get a gist of what she was saying- or at least was trying to say.

The gray mare with the darker legged looked around for a moment. She then shook her head, and walked along. She’d been checking her dresses, but now she heard the bell over the door. She hurried out, seeing the stallion she had a crush on and saying “O-Oh, hello Silver Dagger.”

The darker bluish, lighter marked one had been drawn to the names Jojo and Mango. She’d thought she’d favor one of them. However, as she looked at the calico, she found herself drawn to her instead. She said “Oh…she’s so pretty.” She then blinked and looked at him again. “Well, that’s good, because I actually like to be active. I think Jojo and Mango would actually be better suited to my aunt and dad. They are siblings, after all, so having cats that are like siblings would be great.”

I think I need more snacks and drinks anyway…’ That was the life of a gamer: needing lots of snacks and drinks. They usually stayed in their rooms or apartments. Said mane went down into his face. He sighed…and shook the darker blue mane again. He pawed at the ground, before stopping. He lifted each darkened leg one at a time, then stretched his wings. His wings had the same darkened color, but to the tips of the feathers. He heard his mother…and rolled pinkish- purple or mauve eyes.

The silver bay beauty glanced around a moment. Then shook their head and looked back to the unicorn, nodding at him. They said “I mean…a lot of ponies do, even I do sometimes. I’m getting older, so it’s probably normal…but anyway,” they said. Shaking their head a second time, and looking at their hooves. They then raised their gaze back up to look at him again. They said “It would be nice to meet him one day.” They then scolded their self, because despite talking the two weren’t actually friends…yet.

Were they? Was the other pony starting to think they could be friends, maybe? Nova didn’t know, they couldn’t read his mind. They pushed the thought away from their mind. Before they could start spiraling, on whether they could be friends now or not. They quickly turned their gaze back to the unicorn. Nodding as they said “Oh, yes, I know a lot about them. I’ve had one other one in my life, when I was much younger. I honestly also want a ferret or cat but…cats might bother chinchillas and…ferrets would definitely try and hunt them…”

The light purple and white unicorn made a happy little sound. Though then squeaked when the other brushed up against them. They blushed and shook their head. Saying “It’s…it’s fine,” but then quieting their self before saying something like how it wasn’t like they’d disliked that.

merlin looked at them and nodded slowly, agreeing with what they said, despite having to be reminded of his own age. “unfortunately i agree… but it isn’t too bad,” unless he wanted to miss out on anything and everything that goes on around him. though other than getting a good nights rest, being old.. had some perks.. like what? we’ll get back to him within 3-5 business days and he’ll give you an answer.

He paused a little and took a brief moment to stop and catch his breath a little- or moreso take in the view around him, his thoughts on nova having the possibility to meet Pericles. Sure, he wouldn’t mind showing him off, but why would he take the risk of letting somepony he just met into the house? He thought for a little longer. Who said anything about going into the house? Merlin adjusted his glasses before taking another look around, not budging from where he stood, his attention back on Nova. He nodded a little, “I get that. It’s unfortunate to have one animal that could be prey to another,” he mumbled as he looked around, suddenly feeling that they should turn around and head back.

“but I think we should start heading back,” he paused, was he really going to invite them to the house?…guess so, “however it’s been.. pleasant talking with you,” despite the monotone and unnerving tone he was being truthful, “would you like to continue this conversation back at my home? you mentioned that you wanted to meet Pericles and we’re getting awfully close to the city.” debatable, but he left his suggestion there, his tail twitching nervously.

Berry smiled and shook his head "I can just take my lunch and Cherry will come watch the shop!" he said as he got up and headed for the back stairs "Ill be right back!" he said over his shoulder. He vanished up the stairs and in a few minuets he came back this time without his apron.

The silver bay beauty hummed a small sound, then shook their head. Before looking at the unicorn again and watching as he nodded. Seeming like he was agreeing with what they’d just said. Now it was their turn to nod, and they said “It’s really unfortunate…We can’t exactly stop the aging process, though.” Plus, they weren’t sure they’d want to be young forever anyway.

They turned their attention to their hooves again for a moment. Digging at the ground a moment and uncovering a flower. The flower had been buried…so they weren’t sure it was even still alive. It sure was pretty to look at, though. They stared at it a moment, then shook their head. Flicking their tail back and forth a couple times, then twitching their ears.

They raised their head back up, and turned their attention back to Merlin. Just in time to see as he adjusted his glasses. They nodded as they looked at him, saying “Yeah…If they all ate grass and plants though, that would be bad for the grass and flowers and plants, so I guess it’s good some are carnivores.”

They then nodded once more, as he said they should both start heading back. They said “agreed,” and began to turn their body back the direction they’d came. They then paused, however, as he continued speaking. They felt their body heat up a bit…Saying “I-I, um…it’s been pleasant talking with you too.” Then they made a surprised sound as he invited them to his house. They said “Oh, um…yes, I’d like that a lot. Maybe you could come meet my three chinchillas too, one day in the future, if…if you’d want to.”

merlin looked at them and slowly nodded, it was such a dismal take, but it was true...unfortuante. oh to be an alicorn- but they don't excatly live forever as well. sure- longer but not quite forever. with each passing moment, merlin got a little more distressed on the topic of death. he dragged his hoof across the ground, making a small line in the dirt before looking back at nova when they seemingly uncovered something.

merlin didn't bring it up and instead he nodded along to what nova had said, swishing his tail over the dirt to cover the line that he made. "true- there must be a balance to everything."

before nova could answer, merlin turned back, already retracing his steps, not really wanting to wait around for an answer in case it was a- his head turned over towards nova when they agreed on multiple things- including the invintation to his house. right. of course. he thought for a moment, trying to remember if the main areas of the house was clean- he was pretty sure that they were...but he wasn't 100% sure of it...maybe they didn't have to go inside- maybe that would be the best option for the both of them...mainly merlin. his tail twitched as he started to make his was back, "alright. i'll set up something outside on the porch. where is what we'll decide once we arrive," he mumbled, almost to himself. although when nova mentioned about him meeting his chinchillas, he only glanced at them, thinking. "that doesn't sound too bad- i would love to one of these days."

heck, why not now? surely pericles wouldn't eat any of them.

"sounds good- and i'll be right here!' she called after him as he left for the stairs. while he was up and about, violet took this time to clean up her mess, returning to her seat just in time to see both berry and cherry climb down the stairs. the bat-pony slid out of her chair before neatly pushing it back in, smiling at cherry and her lovely apron. she wanted to say something about it, but unfortunately it seems that cherry decided to take the time to tease her brother...which violet couldn't help but laugh at that. "ooh thank you cherry- and that is a lovely apron by the way." she beamed before glancing at berry, "a very busy somepony you are- lets go on and skedaddle before you change your mind," she teased, giggling a little.

Jewels took a small peek at what Star Seeker was now drawing, but didn't catch on to what he was drawing just yet. She instead flipped to another page in her notebook, deciding to work on some ideas for necklaces. She stole another glance towards Star Seeker, deciding to gain some inspiration by doing one for him. She worked on sketches for a longer necklace with a silver chain. She sketch out a four pointed star for the gem on the necklace, a bit lost for what the gem should be. She looked towards Dista, showing her the sketch. "What do you think would look better, a purple amethyst or a green emerald?" She asked, leaving out who the necklace was inspired from.

Breeze smiled wide, noticing a few more customers coming into the cafe. He looked back towards Willow, "I'll let you get more familiar with Layla and the others then. If you decide you want to adopt her, I have forms up by the front desk to fill out." He smiled and entered back into the cafe, taking care of any cat hair on his coat and mane first of course. He looked towards the pegasus and unicorn at a table. He grabbed a menu and brought it over with a smile, "Good afternoon, here's a menu for ya'll. Anything I can get for you guys? Are you wanting to look at any of the cats we have available?" He asked politely.

She had already worked a part time shift at her brother's cafe, mainly assisting in caring for the foster cats as she had no skills in the kitchen. Star Seeker's eyes flickered up only briefly when the mare spoke, confirming that she wasn't addressing him. It had been quite a while since he'd done much casual sketching and he was honestly enjoying it. Something that probably shouldn't have caught himself as off guard as it did, but he was engrossed in it now.

Dista had been sticking her tongue out a bit at her own drawing, definitely not pleased with her attempts, when Jewel spoke to her. "Pretty..." she said, before shaking her head and staring intently at the design she was being shown. "Green!" The filly decided finally, giving herself a nod. Green was definitely the right choice.

The darker marked gray male found what he needed. He put it in a basket or bag or whatever the shop had, and brought it over. His father soon joined him, so he said “We’re done. We’re ready to get checked out and pay for the candy we’ve picked.”

The gray mare with the darker legs looked around for a moment. She then shook her head, and walked along. She’d been checking her dresses, but now she heard the bell over the door. She hurried out, seeing the stallion she had a crush on and saying “O-Oh, hello Silver Dagger.”

The darker bluish, lighter marked one glanced around a moment. She saw the two new ponies, and vaguely wondered. Were they here to take some cats? She felt bad for this, but…she really hoped they weren’t here to adopt any cats, or if they were that they’d look at the ones she didn’t have an eye on. She quickly nodded at the stallion. Smiling as she said “Thank you.” She went over to an area that seemed to be designated for the cats. Probably for potential adopters also, to hang out with them. She watched the cats moving around. Layla immediately came up to her, and began to rub on her and purr. She squealed softly, and felt her heart melting, so to speak. Oh, for sure she was going to bring this cat home… she just knew it.

The bluish unicorn shook out his short pink, blue and green mane. His same colored also shorter tail flicked back and forth a couple times. His eyes turned to his computer, as he heard a message sound. He clicked on it, and typed back ‘Id be okay with that. I think I need more snacks and drinks anyway…’ That was the life of a gamer: needing lots of snacks and drinks. They usually stayed in their rooms or apartments. He wasn’t the type to always stay there though, since he liked cafes and the Koi pond.

The freckled, yellow mare looked up as she heard her sister. She smiled as she looked at the much smaller pony. She flicked her shades-of-green tail back and forth. She shook out her shades-of-green mane, and said “Hello, little butterfly. Do you want to help? We need all the help we can get…” she sighed.

The golden male with the white medium length spiky/messy mane yawned. His white tail flicked back and forth a couple more times. He then smiled as he saw their youngest sibling. She was only six years younger than himself, ten years younger than Daisy though. He nodded as he looked at her. Saying “Good afternoon, little one.”

The blue male shook out his medium length messy looking mane. He flicked his medium length tail, both mane and tail having pink or pinkish-purple and yellow streaks. Said mane went down into his face. He sighed…and shook the darker blue mane again. He pawed at the ground, before stopping. He lifted each darkened leg one at a time, then stretched his wings. His wings had the same darkened color, but to the tips of the feathers. He heard his mother…and rolled pinkish- purple or mauve eyes.

The silver bay beauty nodded back to the other pony. They glanced around a moment, watching a couple birds take flight. They smiled a bit as they watched the white bird and a brown looking one. The birds soon disappeared over the trees. They glanced back in time to see the unicorn making a line in the dirt. They tilted their head as they watched him do this. However, they said absolutely nothing about what he was doing. They watched as he then used his tail to brush away the line. They smiled and nodded at him a moment. Saying “Balance is a great thing,” then glancing around a moment more. They shook their head a couple times as they looked around. They then looked back to the unicorn stallion, and saw he was turning away.

They hurried to follow him back the way the both of them had come from. They were honestly a bit glad to be heading back. They shook their head at their self for that one. They’d been told by some of their family and acquaintances not to be so anti social. Well, look at them now…they’d met a new pony. They were going to this pony’s, this unicorn’s, house. They weren’t being anti social at all. They just didn’t need to go into the city, or anywhere crowded, to be social with others. They noticed how his tail began to twitch as the two headed back. They flicked their own lovely tail back and forth a couple times. They twitched their ears, and lifted their head a bit. Blinking as they stared up to the skies for a moment. Shaking their head, they lowered their head once more. They nodded at the unicorn, saying “That sounds quite good.” They then smiled as he agreed to come see the chinchillas sometime. They smiled and said “I’ll leave it up to you then, just tell me whenever is good for that.”

The light purple and white unicorn smiled a bit. Flicking their tail back and forth and saying “Thank you,” when the other opened the door. They walked in, seeing Tawny Breeze with another pony. They turned to Vesper, saying “Let’s go pick a table; the owner is talking to some pony else now.”

They glanced to the owner as he walked over to the two of them. They shook their head, saying “We aren’t here to adopt. Not today, anyway, but…maybe if there’s more cats in the future.” They saw the she pony with three or four of the cats, and maybe that pony had family members that were going to adopt those cats.
