Nightmare led the way for him and his younger brother Curse. The duo had been kicked from their family pack a year ago and have been on their own ever since. The two had a complicated, messy bond, "I can't believe you alerted that herd," He growled, "Do you want us starve? For me to leave you behind? That's what's going to happen if you keep making mistakes."

Curse's ears were flat against his head, a mixture of embarrassment and annoyance as he lagged behind Nightmare's larger form, "Whatever.." He grumbled under his breath, 'Even if I didn't make that mistake, he would find something to nitpick..' He thought to himself. He was use to his brothers hostile attitude towards him. Curse just tried to keep his focus on his dark paws as they walked through the scattered leaves, grass and dirt.

Storm was growling lowly in her throat as she led her sister Kiya through the forest to the edge where the tree line met the open fields. The two had dodged a herd of prey running like fire was chasing them, she was protective of Kiya when it came to danger that came out of nowhere. The dark female quickly calmed down with her ears perked forward as she looked around at the end of the tree line. She caught the sound of someone fussing at someone else, she rolled her eyes.

Kiya sighed lightly from Storm growling after the herd almost ran over them if they hadn’t dodged at the last second before they became roadkill by prey. “Enough Storm.” She said lightly. “They came out of no where, and just had to get in the sight of our path.” She huffed lightly when her sister calmed down and she rolled her eyes. She was glad when the tree line came into sight as they reached the end. Her ears perked forward when sounds of fussing reached them, lifting her head to sniff the air as the scents of strangers came near them. “Hmm…wonder who they are.” She added lightly.

Nightmare let out an agitated sigh and went quiet, there was nothing they could do now about the escaped herd. "You better hope they didn't go far. But.. even still, they're probably on high alert." He sniffed the air, trying to pick up the scent of the escaped elk herd again, if not then maybe he could find something else. The dark wolf then abruptly stopped when the scent of wolves mixed in, it wasn't just unfamiliar but close by, "Shut up. Someone's near.." His voice was low and his fur bristled, "Who's there?" His voice boomed, posture straight.

Curse had his head held low and he looked up at Nightmare with narrowed eyes, "I didn't even say anything." He spoke through gritted teeth, his voice quiet. However, he complied and stopped a few inches behind his brother, his eyes examined the treeline, observing. He did manage to catch sight of some movement in the distance and he raised his head immediately.

Storm grumbled under her breath when Kiya got on her about calming down. “Easy for you to say when thundering hooves basically almost run us both over, Kiya.” She growled softly before lifting her head and catching the strange scents as well. Her fur bristled when a male voice called out. She huffed before flicking her tail at Kiya as they came out from the shadows that hid them. The dark female looked to the pair of males feet from them. Her yellow eyes narrowed slightly. “Only my sister and I.” She replied lightly. “And who are you?”

Kiya sighed and rolled her eyes after Storm spoke about the herd almost running them over. Her ears perked forward when the male voices called out. “Who is that?” She asked Storm before she stepped out of the shadows and in the line of sight of the male pair feet from them. The sun shone on her white coat, making her blue eyes squint some until her eyes adjusted from being the forest for abit.

Nightmare stood tall, unlike his brother, his red tinted eyes watched the approaching female pair cautiously, his body stiff. Tolerating other wolves was not easy for him, “And who, exactly, are you and your sister?” He spoke with an edge to his deep tone, he didn’t give her question about him a response, instead pressing for more information on the two of them.

Curse remained silent as it appeared the dark female and Nightmare were taking charge in the introduction. Instead, he diverted his own gaze towards the other white female. Although he wanted to ask his own questions, he knew better than to disrupt his brother. Still, he didn’t know what these wolves were capable of and he watched her carefully with a cold look.

Storm narrowed her yellow eyes at the dark male as her stance was tall and still. She could see that the darker male was the older brother like she was to Kiya. “I’m Storm,” she replied with a slight tone. “My sister is Kiya.” She looked to her sister beside her then back to the other pair. “Now that you know who we are, now who are you?” She kept herself prepared, not knowing what might happen.

Kiya narrowed her blue eyes at the younger brother as he gave her a cold look. She huffed lightly before rolling her eyes. “If looks could kill.” She muttered quietly under her breath. “As if my sister feels like I can’t talk for myself, I’m Kiya.” She snipped lightly while narrowing her eyes at her sister. Yes Storm was older, but Kiya can speak for herself in certain situations.

Nightmare carefully observed the two, his eyes examining their surroundings as well to make sure they were alone and this wasn’t an ambush. They were a sibling pair, like he and Curse were. “I am Nightmare and this…” His eyes trailed over to his brother, “Is a fool that can introduce himself.” He huffed, then looked back at Storm and Kiya, “That aside. What are you doing around here? Is anyone else with you?” His voice was accusatory, “We aren’t looking for friends. I already have enough to deal with as is.”

Curse let out a low growl when he heard Kiya mutter something, “Got a problem?” He narrowed his eyes. Before his attention was drawn back to Nightmare and his introduction of him, he briefly turned his gaze to the ground before looking back up, “I’m Curse.” He spoke, while his voice had a sharpness to it, it still wasn’t as strong as Nightmare’s. He then attempted to straighten himself up, his build a bit smaller than his brother. But he didn’t want to be seen as weak.
