August, despite his namesake, has always loved winter. Not because of the snow or because of Christmas but because he finally got to go back to his happy place. The cabin. Not just any cabin but one that was unique and known for having winter camp. This was the first year Auggie's mom let him drive to the cabin by himself even though it was only an hour away.

The drive was coming to a close, little mountains of anticipation grew along his arms. August could see the cabin brightly lit and welcoming him. He rolled to a stop into a parking spot just as he heard a ding come from his pocket. Auggie pulled his phone out with a smile as he saw a text from his mom with a photo of him and his Australian shepherd 'Hope you arrived safely bean, have fun!'

He sent a quick message back before shoving his phone back in his pocket. August opened the door and the biting winter air hit his face. A chill went through his body before he went to the trunk of his yellow beetle pulling out his two suitcases before gently shutting it back up. He locked his car before making his way into the cabin.
