Yang Xiao Long
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
The blonde had her back pressed up against the wall of the airship, her attention was plastered on the device in front of her. Yang was busy tapping away on her scroll, mumbling slight oohs and ahhs whenever she got a good hit on her opponent in the game she was so intensely playing. She and Ruby had been competing to beat each other’s highscores, no one’s throne was safe. Especially not now, Yang had time to kill and if there was one thing she knew for certain, it was that Ruby’s current high score wasn’t going to last for too much longer. “Aaand consider your high score… scored, sis.” She whispered to herself. As much as she would have loved to rub it into her younger sister’s face, it would be hard to do while the other party was absent. Team RWBY had been split up on separate missions, while Yang wasn’t too familiar with the details on Ruby and Weiss’ mission; she was fairly confident in their abilities. Same with her and Blake, Yang was confident that they could handle any danger thrown at them. No offense to Ruby or Weiss but Yang felt like she fought at her best when she was teamed up with Blake. They had a weird understanding for each other, though there was always more to their relationship than Yang allowed herself to admit.
Her focus began to waver from her scroll and eventually she snapped out of her intense focus upon hearing the announcement that they would be docking soon. That meant it was time to find her partner. The huntress leaned her weight forward, pushing herself off the wall to take a step forward. Yang ventured through a gathering of people with various “excuse me’s” and “coming through’s!” being exchanged. It didn’t take long for her to find a familiar set of cat ears loitering in the not-so-far distance, “Long time no see” she greeted, a wide and goofy grin on her face. Yang took her place beside Blake, a sigh of content coming from her, “so, what do you think our new teammates are going to be like?” She asked, curious to know Blake’s thoughts on the matter. All she really knew about their new teammates were their names and what they looked like, basic information to help identify who’s who. Yang wasn’t one to judge anyone off a photo but all she hoped was for the four of them to get along. If not, then it was going to be one long week. Either way, she was eager to meet her new temporary teammates.
Not too long after Yang reunited with Blake, everyone on the aircraft was exiting. They had arrived at their destination. They had gotten there a day early, it gave the group ample time to get to know one another as well as discuss the happenings of the mission. Much wasn’t said about who or what was being transported, this whole thing was fairly confidential. Hopefully now that things would be handled in person more information would be shed on the matter. Yang swivelled her head around trying to catch wind of either Morion or Cerise, no one that fit their descriptions appeared to be present from what she could tell.
Morion Quartz
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
He had fallen asleep with his headphones on, missed his alarm and was now running late to meet his team leader at the airship docks. An overwhelming amount of embarrassment and stress washed over the faunus, if it were any other day he would shrug it off but today? Today was the last day he wanted to be late. Not while others were waiting on him. He just hoped that this monetary blunder wouldn’t give his new teammates a bad impression of him. Morion was supposed to meet up with Cerise fifteen minutes ago to greet the pair of huntresses, multiple apologies were already running through his mind as he scrambled around to get ready. He quickly tied his hair back, brushed his teeth and threw together his outfit. He figured he could leave his weapon at home as there was no need for him to use it. Besides, it would have just been added weight that he didn’t need to carry around, having a heavy tail already made being agile hard.
Morion prepared himself for the eventual sprint he would have to subject himself to by sliding on his headphones, he scrolled through various playlists before deciding on one that would make running across town a little less hellish. Once prepared, it didn’t take him long to zoom out the door. Running wasn’t his strongest suit, he had always classified himself as a tank rather than a rogue or a thief. Slower than most but his stamina should make up for what he lacked. He was weary of his tail as he made his way through the town, dashing past familiar store fronts and alleyways. His main fear was accidentally knocking someone or something over with it, something he was well known for when he was younger. It had earned him a few unfortunate nicknames. Luckily for him, he knew a few shortcuts that were devoid of people and that meant less of a chance to cause any damage. Morion adjusted his path to the docks trying his best to not be a nuisance to the civilians going about their day. It wouldn’t be too much longer until he would arrive, he really wanted to pause and catch his breath. Perhaps he would have to add cardio to his list of things to work on.
Once he reached the docks, he scanned the area for a familiar set of pink hair. “Cerise!” He called out, winded from his eventful morning. “So… glad I… found you! I’m sorry I’m late. I overslept.” He said, bowing his head toward her. Morion removed his headphones off of his head, normally he would leave them on but he still felt a tad bit ashamed. “Are they here yet?” He asked between puffs of air. Despite his tardiness, he was very excited to meet the new duo they were to be paired up with. They were to go on an escort mission, something about a diplomat needing to be taken across to the neighbouring kingdom. There was more information but they were told not to talk about it in public for whatever reason. There was probably more going on but Morion didn’t have the gall to ask why everything was so secretive.

Blake Belladonna
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
While she’s definitely come out of her shell a lot since coming to Beacon and teaming up with Ruby, Weiss and Yang, Blake would still not categorize herself as the very social outgoing type. She’s okay with speaking to people, and has had to do many speeches to large groups of strangers, but it’s still a little bit out of her comfort zone to be meeting with strangers and suddenly have to do missions with them. While it’s only one mission, it’s still not what Blake is typically used to, she’s grown accustomed to working with her team the most. Luckily, she’ll have Yang with her at least. If all of team RWBY couldn’t come along, Blake is glad it’s Yang. Yang has a sort of charm to her that attracts others, and helps Blake to relax a little bit. Hopefully her energy will be enough to carry them through this mission, so long as the other two they’re working with aren’t bad people. Blake doubts they will be, but there is always a chance, she’s met enough terrible people working to become hunters and huntresses to know not to be completely optimistic.
She’s seen the photos of the two they’ll be working with, which is a good start. At the very least she’ll be able to recognize them so it won’t be awkward. They also have their names, but nothing much else about them. Unsure why they weren’t given much information but unwilling to doubt the instructions, Blake doesn’t question it.
At the announcement that they’ll be arriving soon, Blake checks her scroll to see the time and absentmindedly notes that they’re a little bit late. Hopefully the others haven’t been waiting too long. Blake glances around, wondering where Yang ended up. She wants to be with Yang when they arrive, more at ease having her teammate with her. Yang must’ve had a similar line of thought, as Blake spots her approaching, familiar grin in place. Blake has to fight the urge to smile back, but can’t resist the slight upturn of her lips. Yang’s attitude is contagious.
“I’m not sure, I wish we got more information on them,” Blake responds, being honest. There isn’t much more time for socializing though, as they finally arrive at their destination. Blake stays close to Yang as they search for their temporary teammates, and she ends up being the one to spot them, having familiarized herself with their pictures.
“Over there,” she gestures to where she can spot the bright pink hair that is no doubt Cerise and what appears to be a crocodile tail belonging to Morion. Blake is a little bit relieved to see a faunus, now sure that they won’t treat her any differently. Blake allows Yang to take the lead after pointing them out, her charisma definitely needed for the introductions. At least they’re a day early to the mission, so they have time to get used to each other first.
x Cerise Mawar
─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Cerise absolutely hates being late. She takes her missions, and her training, very seriously. Possibly too seriously, as she’s been told a few times. It’s been her nature since she was young, though, so it’s not exactly an easy habit to break. Ever since the moment she was designated the leader of her team, her worry has been practically doubled. If she’s not being the best version of herself, how can she be the best leader? Even if her teammates try to dismiss her worries she can’t help but still remain anxious about making mistakes. She’s usually up and completely ready for the day hours before she needs to be, even if it means getting less sleep than usual. Which is another problem in and of itself, because Cerise knows sleep is important to be healthy, so it makes her worry even more, and then her worrying causes lack of sleep. It’s a never ending cycle that she can only try her best to remain strong in.
All this to say, Cerise is no stranger to being the first one to, well, everything. This mission is no exception, so she’s been at the docks for quite a while. So long, she’s begun to be worried about her teammate. While she may be a bit obsessed with being timely with things, she knows not everyone is like her and they don’t need to be early, but the closer it gets to being late the more worried she gets. Morion is someone Cerise knows she can trust. Especially in battle, his skills are very valuable. Not only that, he’s a very kind person who Cerise appreciates as a teammate. Cerise is simply worried about his time management skills. This mission is important, they’ll be working with another team so it’s good to make a proper first impression. Cerise wouldn’t go so far as to assume Morion doesn’t care, or anything of that nature, it’s just hard to compare when Cerise cares too much.
Her thoughts are interrupted by Morion, speak of the devil and all that, calling her name. Cerise turns, spotting him immediately. His appearance is not one for blending in much. Luckily, even though he apparently overslept and got here late, the airship was also late. It’s arriving just after Morion, so hopefully it’s not so obvious he was late.
“Lucky for you, they were late as well,” Cerise says, wincing internally at how accusatory it sounded. She shouldn’t be harsh, and typically tries not to be rude as accidents happen, but it would’ve been very awkward for Cerise if she was the only one here to greet the others. She straightens her posture, the nerves getting to her perfectionist nature, “hopefully this all goes well,” she adds, half speaking to herself.
