“Mads...” She murmured before burying her face into Archie’s chest.

Maddy kept her head under the blanket, not saying a word.

Archie hugged Veronica and said, "Hey, it's okay."

Veronica ran out of the room and sat in the waiting room.

Archie ran after her, and sat next to her, asking "What happened?"

Maddy peered out from under the blankets, seeing they both left and took it off her head.

"She asked me if people get shot a lot around here. I couldn't lie so I nodded." Veronica quickly said.

"Good, if she stays she needs to learn to be careful.." Archie said to her softly.

Maddy asked her self "Can I stand?" So she tried, quickly sitting back down and saying out loud "Scratch that idea."

"But she probably is going to leave and I'll be an only child again. I can't let her leave so soon." She quietly said and sighed.

"So does she just, live on her own and run the streets?" Archie asked her quietly.

Maddy sat with her legs hanging off the bed, looking at the bandage on her shoulder and sighed.

Veronica glared at him and stood up. She pushed his chest and went back to Maddy's room.

"Okay then." Archie muttered to himself and walked out of the hospital.

Maddy saw her sister walk in, and just stared at the ground.
