This is the Tribe of the Black Pearl's first annual Easter event. It is open to all current members, and if you are a newcomer looking to join, please click the links in my signature for additional information.

The Time of Falling Rain is a harsh season, but
it is the foreshadowing of new life on the peninsula.
The birds have returned to the island, and there
are more than ever! This huge migration of birds
means that there is an abundance of eggs for the
tribe. Eggs are a delicious treat for cats of all ages.
High ranks of the tribe have organized a tribe-wide
hunting day for egg gathering. This is a competition
open to even the youngest members of the tribe, if
their mothers will let them that is.

The goal of the competition is to collect
as many eggs as possible. You need to hide your
eggs from other members, who could potentially
steal what you have gathered. Cats can carry only
one egg at a time without breaking it, making it
harder to steal a quantity without an ingenious
idea. Taking eggs directly from nests could be
difficult if the mother bird is watching them.
Mother birds can potentially peck at you, and
they return to their nests every five minutes.
Watch out for Shadow! He can come through and
take away your eggs if you are not careful.
The cat with the most eggs by sundown is the
winner of the egg gathering competition!

It was strange to stand where Tempest normally stood, but Light hopped up with mostly ease. He believed that perhaps it was time to break some of the tensions brewing in the tribe, and what more wonderful way than with a game? Besides, it would keep every member's hunting skills sharp! Stretching, he stood tall and shouted, "Every member of the tribe, please gather!" he called, "Every kit and elder, boatswain and apprentice, surgeon and queen - I have an announcement for the entirety of the tribe," when he was confident that everyone had come out to sit and listen, he continued, "It has come to my attention that there is an excessive amount of birds, lately. And what do birds mean? Eggs!" he grinned, "Because of this, I would like to propose an egg hunt for every member of the tribe! Anyone can participate, no matter the age, and it will be a competition to see who can gather the most eggs before sundown. Whoever achieves this - at sundown, mind you - will be declared our winner! Stealing eggs from other's piles is perfectly allowed, with the only exception being kits - they can't climb for nests, so the eggs they've hunted will be safe," Light paused, a glimmer in his eye and a mischievous smirk crossing his face, "Watch out for Shadow, though - he may be attempting to steal your hard earned eggs away. Now that all the rules are settled, go forth!" he finished with a joyful, excited meow before hopping down off of the platform. Oh, this would be fun! Although he was unsure if he could participate, as the judge, it would still be amusing to watch the others progress.

Sky sat in a calm manner as she listened to Light's words. She never liked the way some cats are too happy for their own good, but she had to listen to whatever some cats say to give them a chance. She gagged a little when Light mentioned an egg hunt competition open to every member of the tribe.
Why eggs? Sky thought at that fact. She never liked eggs. She usually says that she didn't like the way eggs tasted.
Clearly that wasn't the issue.
Sky doesn't like to compete in certain events, but she can do so anyway.
"Birds and eggs started that whole mess in the first place," Sky said to herself a little too loud.

Ice went to where the other cats gathered and listened to Light's words. She slightly smiled when he mentioned a game. Eggs... it had to be eggs. From the mother birds nest, no less, thought Ice with a bit of worry. She knew that birds can be dangerous, depending on the type of bird and situation. She noticed Light smirking, and she narrowed her eyes. Clearly enjoying this, she thought with some amusement and a little bit of annoyance. However, it was a challenge, and Ice likes challenges. Once he told everyone to get on with the hunt, Ice was the first to dash out of the camp. Her fast legs carried her outside of the tribe's camp. She quickly stopped to look around, and noticed a flock of birds up ahead. She sprinted towards the birds, certain that there are nests in the area.

Sky saw Light bounding towards her playfully. Clearly, he doesn't understand her at all.
"No I am not. I just seem to be in a.... sorrow mood.... at the moment," Sky said quietly so that only Light could hear.
'I just don't like eggs and birds in general, yet I still eat them anyway," She continued.

Light gave her a friendly forehead bump, speaking in the same soft tone that wouldn't be overheard, "I understand, and I'm hoping this can help everyone feel at least a little better," he chirped, taking a moment to think, before continuing, "What if we went together? I'm not entirely sure if I'm allowed to play, as the judge, but we can be a team!"

"Sure, but.... is this to make sure that you steal the eggs that I collect?" Sky questioned.

Ice / Boatswain / Female / Location: outside of the camp / Tags: Open

Ice hid in a fern and spotted a nest filled with eggs. She smiled. Found one, she thought. She saw the mother bird sitting around the nest. Two little birds were in the nest, but there was one egg in it as well. Ice had an idea. She picked up a rock with her mouth and threw it away from her hiding place and the nest. The mother bird fell for it, of course. Yes! thought Ice in triumph. However, she had limited time. Ice sprinted from her hiding place and jumped into the nest. She tried not to bat away the little birds. She took the egg in her mouth - Doesn't feel good having it in your mouth when you are tired and you are about to bite the egg, she thought - and ran for it. She took to a concealed path. She saw a fern that was a decent distance away from the camp and the nest that she had been to. She looked back and forth, in front of her and behind her, making sure that nobody followed her. She hid under the fern, dug a hole, and carefully placed her egg in it. She made sure that when she filled the hole, the egg was completely covered. She stepped out of the fern, checked the area around her again, and continued searching for more eggs. If this is all a joke, in the name of Arcadia, I will bat away all of the flies away from the tribe camp, she thought, although her claim to bat away the flies isn't true.

Light returned the smile brightly, "Pfft, no, I won't be stealing any of your eggs! I just want to be helpful. I might steal some from the winner at the end, or maybe here and there from other tribe members," he gave a light laugh, "But no, you're safe,"

Song and Mist, the two kits that they were, had decided to team up as well. Because Mist was so nervous and Song was so brave, Song decided to be the leader - Mist would distract, she would steal.
