History:
When Cody left college for break to see
his family, they were so happy to see him. At
the moment, everything was perfect. Then, the
unimaginable happened. His whole world began to
collapse- only, he wasn't the only one with this issue.
To his surprise, his girlfriend had been possessed by someone
trying to get power... Power that would come from his family
and not just his. They killed his mother and his sister, Sarah.
His father forced him into hiding after being attacked by
his girlfriend. Not a long while later, things got so much
worse. The whole world went into chaos. Brave parents
tried to protect their children... But the smart ones?
They sent their children away. And there were only
two parents who thought to do this. Only two kids
made it out alive. Cody and Alex. And now, they
were stuck in the same world- only it wasn't
the place they left.

After all of this happening, Cody became
a cold and emotionless person- only, that wasn't
true. Nobody knew how sensitive he really was. He
became a master at lying and hiding truths. The only
person who ever knew about these issues is Alex.

History:
Alex's family had taken Alex to a portal in the middle of the dark war so that she could escape. They shoved her into the portal and it shut behind her. She soon realized that she was sent to a world like her own, but these humans were not like her own.

Cody looked around. The streets seemed a little lonely for a Saturday. Well, it was winter... And it was pretty cold out. The clouds hung ominously overhead, casting a dark shadow on what seemed to be the whole world. It was a nice day to be out and about, especially when not many people were there to run into. This weather made him feel more comfortable. Cody opened the door to the coffee shop. The warm smell was nice and welcoming as he walked towards the short line. Suddenly, he stopped and looked down a little awkwardly as he bumped into a much shorted stranger. Hot coffee burned his hand and he pulled it away. "Uh... Sorry." He said to the girl he walked into. So much for not running into anyone.

"Tall Mocha, with two shots of caramel!" The guy behind the counter shouted over the small noise of the coffee shop.
Alex smiled as she took her drink. It was the dead of winter and she was freezing her head off. Alex didn't care much for the cold. At home it was always so nice and warm.
Lost in thought as she headed to the door, Alex did not see him until she hit him and spilled her coffee on his hand. Alex looked up into the guys brown eyes. His brown hair ascue, most likely from their collision.
"S-sorry! I wasn't paying attention to were I was going!" She squeaked her face blooming a blush.

Cody almost laughed a little bit at the girl's embarrassment. At least she didn't blame him for the collision. It was so relieving that at least one person around wasn't so rude as to start yelling after one simple accident. People like that bothered Cody, especially when they end up taking it way too far. He looked at her, simply replying, "It's fine," and grabbed a napkin off the table nearby. He wiped off the burning drink and walked away without another word. Saying the least possible was always a good idea. Next thing you know, you're stuck in an awkward conversation with some random person and no way to politely excuse yourself without looking like you dislike the person.

Alex stared after him with puzzlement. Why just walk away without another word? Maybe he was mad at her for burning his hand. Alex sighed. Smooth, Alex, smooth. Without realizing what she was doing, she walked toward the guy and shoved a ten dollar bill in his hand. Alex said, "Sorry, again for almost melting the flesh off your hand," and walked out the door into the bitter cold.

Cody raised an eyebrow as the girl gave him a ten dollar bill and walked away. "Uh... That's not ne- it didn't really-" he tried to say something, but she was gone. He sighed. Alright, then... He walked up to the cashier to order. "Caramel Frappuccino, please." He handed the cashier the ten dollar bill. "Keep the change." After a few minutes, a person handed him the drink and Cody nodded a thanks then walked away. The dark clouds began to let out a light drizzle of rain. Now this was nice weather. Cody put up his hood as he headed towards home at a fast pace.

As he got closer to home, Cody noticed someone that seemed to be following him. It was subtle, but he was definitely following him. no one comes over here! Who would want to follow him? As he came to a street with different streets branching off, Cody turned down to an alley. The person following him continued down the street. Confused, he continued down the alley and back onto the main road.

Okay... This guy is definitely following me. the man was standing by the corner of a building where the alley ends. Cody quickly walked away. Surely, the person followed him again. "Okay, I'm done with this." He turned around and walked towards the person. The man had a hoodie on, the hood covering his face except for his mouth. "Why are you following me?" He confronted the man, but all he got in reply was silence. "Hey!" Cody had to force himself not to use his magic. "I know you've been following me! What do you want?"

Alex was heading to the studio sipping her mocha, when the rain started. At first it was a light drizzle, then it became a downpour of sharp knifes. Alex started running along the sidewalk with her head down and shoulders curled inward. Stupid, stupid, stupid!, She thought, you new the rain was coming! You could feel it in the air, why didn't you bring an umbrella? Alex saw the brick building of her apartment and ran up the stairs. Alex fished around in her denim purse for her apartment key. After a vigorous search she finally found her key. Just as she put her key in the slot, she felt a tingly sensation at the back of her neck. She knew that feeling. "oh, that is just what I need right now" she muttered to herself. Alex opened her door and walked in casually like she didn't know she was being watched. She locked the door behind her and looked out the window like she was looking to see if the rain would let up any time soon. On the sidewalk across the street was a tall, thin man dressed in black. From this distance it was hard to tell what he looked like, but she could see the bleeding shield emblem on his hoodie. A snatcher. What is a snatcher doing out here?

Cody dodged the hooded man's attack as he lunged forward. "So we're really doing this?" He tried to avoid using his powers at all costs. So of course he didn't use them. He fought the man, blow after blow. Of course... he could probably get in big trouble for this, but hey... The guy was trying to... What was he trying to do? Could it be? No. They'd have no way to get to this dimension. It's impossible. But as he continued to dodge the attacks and fight back, it became much more obvious. The covered face... The emblem. It was them. They'd came for him. He had to run. Cody quickly turned around and bolted, the hooded man right behind.

Alex turned away from the window. Why, why, why ,why? she thought. Why of all the times? I like this town! I don't want to leave. But i'm going to have to. Alex walked through the door to the left of the entryway and into her room. She looked around, memorizing the way everything was. Her queen bed was centered in the middle of the far wall. On ether side of it were bedside tables with lamps. Across from her bed was her closet with all her clothes and shoes. Alex didn't have much decoration but she liked it that way, like a blank canvas waiting for a mosaic. That would never happen now, at least not in this town. Alex walked over to the closet and flung open the doors. Hanging on the only hook was a black zip-up back-pack. It had come through the portal with her when she... when she left her world. It might look like an ordinarily back-pack but it was enchanted. It was bigger on the inside like the TARDIS in "Doctor Who", minus the weight. Alex grabbed it and shoved all her clothes in it. Then she went to her kitchen and grabbed all the food that did not need to be heated or cooked, and stuffed it in there. She walked into her living room and grabbed her spell books and reading books. She also packed a few pillows, an air mattress, and some blankets. She turned around to look at the glass case that held her swords, daggers, belts and other weapon things. She walked over to it and pulled open the doors. She put all her weapons in their respective cases and shoved them in her bag, all but her twin daggers which she strapped to her legs. Alex walked over to her door, grabbed an umbrella and looked out the window. The man was still there, it looked like he was waiting for her. She also saw that it had stopped raining so she put the umbrella in her bag, opened the door and swaggered out. If you were going into battle, why not do it with style?

Cody continued to run from the hooded man. He was obviously faster and quickly gaining distance. His house was right ahead. Would this mean that he needs to move, now that they'd found him? Of course it did. "No!" I really like this place! He had grown attached to this town. He had friends and favorite places to go. As he got home, Cody pulled out his keys and hurriedly tried to unlock the door. Due to the frantic behavior, he dropped his keys. Too late. The snatcher came up and grabbed him from behind. This guy must've been either really stupid, or very forgetful, because he didn't have any weapons. Did he really think Cody would go down without a fight? Without a second thought, Cody elbowed the man in the stomach, and as the man let go, he kneed him in the crotch and punched him. The snatcher staggered backwards. This was his chance to run. There was no time to go inside to get his things.
Cody took off again, hardly out of breath. Now where do I go? I guess I just hide... Still trying to think of a good place to get away, he ran. As he went, a few people gave him awkward looks or quizzical stares. He guessed they were wondering why he was running as fast as he could, as if he was being chased by a bear. Only his problem was much worse.
Cody stopped abruptly, noticing a man in a black hoodie staring at a girl. Was that the snatcher?... No. He was just at his house. And was that the girl he ran into at the coffee shop this morning? That is definitely a snatcher. And definitely the girl from the coffee shop. But why would they want her? She's not- No, she couldn't be. That's ridiculous! "Hey!" There was no time to think. If this snatcher was there for this girl, then he had to help. Cody ran towards the guy in the hoodie, suddenly wondering where the other one was.
