Feathered Legs ~ A Nukitta RP

The morning air was still, crisp and cool.

A soft breath of wind would, on occasion, sigh amongst the branches of firs and pines, rustling the leaves of shrubby bushes and stands of short, new-growth grass.
To the north, where mountains lifted tired heads to the black-blue sky, there was snow - there was always snow.
But amongst the gently rolling foothills, Spring had come.

Before We Get Started
Here's a few ground rules and roleplay pointers!

- Only owners of Nukitta may post here! Don't know what a Nukitta is? Check out the shop in the link above.

-Site rules apply, of course. Do not be rude to one another, keep things pg-13, et cetera.

- Nukitta live in a world that is most like our own during the Medieval Era. There are people, but most nukitta would rather avoid them for obvious reasons.

- Remember to read up on the species information! Let's keep these fellows as close to Nukitta guidelines as we can. This includes tail talk and their zebra-like call.

- Ideally, this roleplay will be semi-literate. If you can, then please post at least one small paragraph (between three and five short sentences). If you want to go above and beyond, that's totally fine! If you feel you cannot keep up with this, then please, all I ask is that you use complete sentences.

- There is no need to post a character profile before you can join the roleplay. Just jump on in! Your Nukitta's name and image and your username will be added to the post below under, "Participating Nukitta."

Setting And Plot

This roleplay will, of course, take place in the land of Ávora, in a small alpine meadow where Nukitta are likely to be found. The roleplay does not have to stay there, however, and with any luck, it will evolve into something big! New events may pop up at any time to keep things lively - those events will be listed here.

Current Events:
It is a peaceful morning, though it seems as if rainclouds may be building in the distance. Bad weather is still very far away, however, leaving the Nukitta to peacefully graze and catch up with others who have come to the meadow in search of a good meal.

Weather:
Cold, but with the sun rising and the dew evaporating, a warmer noontime can be expected.

Aaand This Place is Open!
~I'll start out by tossing Hansa into the mix~

As chilly as the morning was, the clear sky ahead and the mellow weather promised a mild day to come. Already Winter was becoming an old memory, a sour recollection of snow, ice, and poor pickings - what snow remained was thin, more like frost, and only existed where the sun had yet to shine in the gullies and heavy shade. Squirrels danced on the high limbs, flickering tails and calling loudly to those neighbors that would encroach on their dwindling supply of hidden acorns. Birds that had been on wing for many hundreds of miles were settling down after a long journey to their Northern homes. Somewhere in the darkness a moose called, and elsewhere a bear was shaking out its limbs after a little winter nap. In the forest, a pair of nostrils flared; long, silky ears perked; dewy amber eyes peered nervously between the trees. Soft, cloven hooves fell silently on the new, springy mosses that spread out underfoot, and a heavy auburn tail flicked gently beyond a patchy pair of dappled hindquarters. A delicate Nukitta moved in the pre-dawn hours, breath puffing about her head as she moved for open ground.

Her name was Hansa, and she was hungry. A spare winter had left her a bit ribby, but she - like most of her species - had been born a hardy animal. She could handle a few weeks of a poor diet. Didn't mean she wanted to, though, so now she slid through the shadows toward a meadow she knew would have rich pasture.
