Ben woke up slowly, hearing the distant sound of his alarm clock ringing. He raised his hand quite sluggishly, slapping it down on the snooze button. He decided to finish his dream about flying through space, but his dad yelled in his ear to "wake up". Ben sat up, looking annoying, and shot the stink eye at his father. His father then laughed and strode out of the room, walking downstairs and starting to clang the pots and pans together. Ben sighed unhappily. "Why does it have to be a nice day?" he cried, aggravated, and jumped out of bed, opening his closet door. Scanning the shelves and hangers, Ben finally pulled out a dark blue t-shirt and light grey shorts. The dark blue shirt sported the words "wow" in stark white block letters. Pulling his outfit on with his undergarments, he grabbed a brown belt and rushed downstairs, sliding into the chair at the kitchen table. "Dad, is something... burning?" Ben asked, half laughing. His dad looked at Ben sheepishly. "18 years and I still haven't gotten better at cooking." his dad said. The both laughed, and Ben got up, preparing a quick piece of toast before he hopped in his car and drove off to school.
Chomping on the bread, he ran upstairs while the crumbs flew onto the floor. I'll pick that up later. Ben thought as he rushed into the bathroom, combed his hair a bit, but not too much, and grabbed his white toothbrush. Opening the medicine cabinet, he grabbed the fresh mint toothpaste, squirting it fiercely onto the bristles and popping the toothbrush into his mouth, brushing vigorously. Walking to his room while brushing, he grabbed his phone, car keys, backpack, and computer. Rushing back to the bathroom, he spit impatiently and dried his mouth, putting on deodorant and rushing back into the hallway to put on his black converse. He then got a small broom out of the closet, sweeping the many breadcrumbs into his hand and dumping them into a nearby trash can as he rushed into the kitchen. Giving his dad a quick kiss goodbye and taking the house keys from the table, attaching them to his car keys, he opened the door. Quickly running across the pebbled driveway, he hopped into the green volvo and pushed in the car keys.
Not as rushed as yesterday, at least. Ben thought, laughing a little. He looked at the sky, which was unusually clear for such a day. Yeah, there were little white puffy clouds, but not big ones. They looked as if they could follow a person around, in fact. Driving into the nearest Dunkin' Donuts, he ordered a coffee and payed as quickly as possible, rushing out of the store with the coffee bouncing around in the cardboard tray. There was half an hour 'till school started, so Ben pressed down the pedal and started driving to the school, which was now only about a mile away. Not paying attention to the pretty day, Ben eventually parked the car in the school parking lots, then ran inside, giving high five to all his soccer teammates. They had won last night's game, against the number one school in the state. It ended up 23-1, with Ben's team at 23. Ben had won 13 of those goals, which made his father, after woken up, high five his son, too. The game lasted about three-four hours, going from 6-9:30 pm. Ben finally pulled up to his locker, opening it force, and looking at the schedule. So I have history. Ben thought, and opened the zipper for his backpack, pulling out the other subject's things and taking his backpack to history class. "Ok. Let's get there kinda early." Ben whispered, then raced through the sea of people into the class and sat down. Oh. Locota is here. he thought, but not in a mean way. She was nice, though she was deaf and didn't talk much. I'd like her to teach me sign language so I could use it for a book or even movie. he thought, turning around to face the board.
