The two of them, Loki and Tony, begin
to feel for one another.
Working together becomes more difficult
than ever as they try to fight against
what they're feeling, hiding everything
from the friends they are supposed to be
fighting with.
How can a budding love survive, in a
world like this? In the midst of battle,
perhaps not all is lost, not all is darkness.
With love, anything is possible..

Anthony Edward Stark, known as "Tony" to many, is one hell of a man. At least, he seems to think so. Playboy, philanthropist, and genius, Tony knows he's hot stuff and takes the time to point it out to others. He's outgoing, enjoys a good drink, as well as gambling. He's pretty carefree and charismatic, but when the time comes he can be rather serious. Tony secretly suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, both from his time as a war prisoner and from the first battle with the Avengers. No one knows about this except for him, as he's very big on keeping secrets and his emotions bottled up inside.
Two quirks about Tony are, one, that he's a vegetarian, and two, he doesn't like being handed things. If someone hands him something directly, he will immediately pass it on to someone else or set it down.

Loki Laufeysonthe God of mayhem and mischief, Is a man that should never be compared to his adopted bothers, Thor in particular. For Every action Thor has, Loki has the opposite, when Thor shows kindness, Loki shows hate and when Thor shows anger, Loki shows enthusiasm. These actions even fallow how the Shapeshifter fights; Unlike his brother, Loki uses sorcery to achieve his goals, along with well though plans. Despite some of his more recent actions he is known for thinking things though to the point of over thinking them, and rarely acts on a whim of rashness.
The sorcerer may be a god but he is a god of many flaws. He has a multiple emotional issues stemming from his childhood. As a child he was often looked down on in comparison to Thor and Tyr, Because of this he craves power and looks down on others. Loki also is known for distancing himself from others both physically and emotionally, unless the other person has something of value to him. Loki tends to act out using tricks, often it is used to draw attention to himself; to make himself feel valuable.
This god also comes with quite a lot of baggage, as he has fathered and mothered quite a few children. Fenrir, Sleipnir, and Jörmungandr are just a few to be named. Fenrir the Giant wolf was fathered by Sköll and Hati Hróðvitnisson, the eaters of the sun and the moon. This Wolf has bitten off Tyr's Right hand and is prophesized to kill Odin. Sleipnir, the Eight-legged horse and Odin's steed. Jörmungandr, or the midguard serpent, has surrounded Midguard and when he lets go, the world is prophesized to end.
Others need to tread carefully around Loki, At times his words should be taken worth a grain of salt, yet at other times he slips important information into his sentences.

Anthony "Tony" Stark - Iron Man
«☼»
Male - Human
Currently in Stark Tower with the Avengers, planning.
"Look, we can't just sit back and wait," Tony said, shoving his body off of his bar to come a little closer to the good Captain. He had been leaning against it for some time, his arms crossed over his chest as he listened to the others bicker about what to do. The problem for him, was that they weren't actually getting anywhere. He was quickly becoming frustrated, and Thor's random disappearance wasn't helping with it. The big guy hadn't said a word as he had stood and left, his departure as abrupt as it was strange. They all knew Thor wasn't exactly the quiet type, but he had seemed almost somber. Shaking his head a little, Stark returned his attention to those present. They were all situated in his living room, looking like a normal group of people since they were all wearing normal clothes instead of their suits. Or well, giant green skin in the case of Banner.
Captain America stood as well, getting into what Tony thought of as 'his space' as he spoke. "What would you suggest, then? We just barge in without a plan? That will get us all killed," he said, his eyes baring down into those of Tony's. Tony returned his glare, trying to seem all the more intimidating to make up for being shorter than the guy he was trying to stare down. Before he could reply though, Dr. Banner stepped between them, a sigh falling from his lips as he shook his head a little, murmuring something about how fighting each other wouldn't help anything. Tony wasn't sure he agreed; punching the Cap would be good for him, he though. Help him think. He didn't do it though, instead just returned to his place by the bar.
"Anyone want one?" he asked as he stepped behind it, quickly pouring himself a scotch. He would need more than one if the day continued on as it had been. No one answered, obviously ignoring that he was drinking. He didn't let it bother him, being a fan of the drink, and quickly drank it down, setting the glass back on the table. "Well then, Captain," he said a little sarcastically, "What would you suggest we do?"◄☼►
At that moment in Asgard..
Thor had silently excused himself from the gathered Avengers, not bothering to so much as explain his plan. He wasn't even sure there was a plan to explain. Actually, that's what he was going to get- a plan. Or someone who was good at making them. The past hour with his allies had been enough to convince him of one thing, and it was that they needed help. His friends had no idea what they were doing, where they should go from there. They didn't know how to create some grand scheme, but Thor knew someone who was very, very good at doing just that. So good, in fact, that it had been very difficult for the Avengers themselves to defeat the man. With that thought to spur him on, Thor had quickly returned to Asgard, avoiding anyone that may want to talk with him. He knew exactly where his brother was being kept, and knew that he needed to be quiet about going there.
After his attack on Midgard, Loki had been sentenced to an undetermined amount of time in the dungeon of Asgard, partly as punishment and partly because Odin and Frigga had wanted to keep an eye on their son, Frigga especially who saw Loki as a man needing saved, not punished. Thor secretly sided with his mother, though he would not openly admit that to his father. It was not his place to decide the fate of his brother, nor was it his place to question the Allfather. It was because of this that Thor resorted to sneaking about, intent on springing his brother free if only until the Avengers had a solid plan against the budding evil they had been warned about.
When he arrived at the dungeon, he slipped inside unseen, careful not to alert anyone as he made his way to Loki's cell. As he stood before his caged brother, his heart squeezed painfully. It wasn't right, he thought, that Loki was being held here like a common criminal. Then again, he had to admit that what Loki had done could have gotten him a sentence to death.. "Loki," Thor breathed, crouching down to see look at his brother where he sat. "How are you, brother?" he asked softly, his hands coming forward to grasp at the bars before him. After a short pause he shook his head, clearing his thoughts. "Loki, I have come to ask for your help," he admitted. "I will break you free from your prison in return for your aide," he said, looking almost hopeful. He still felt that the brother he knew and loved was still in there somewhere, trapped under whatever was wrong inside of his own mind. He only hoped that, with time, his brother would return to him. Perhaps this was the chance Loki needed.

The Trickster, who had been punished for his crimes against midgaurd, sat alone in his cell. It was well furnished thanks to his mother, Frigga. Books stacked the cases for him to read, a golden lined glass table that sat in the center of the room along with two matching chairs, Why the god needed two chairs when he was to be imprisoned alone was beyond him, and a bed dressed in emerald green silk sheets, adorned the so called Jail. To Loki, all of Asguard was a jail he was just now confined into a smaller space. As a child he was never allowed to roam freely and when he did he often found ways out that no one else, not even the all mighty Odin, knew about.
As of late, he had finished most of the books that Frigga had sent down for him. His mother, one of the few people he showed any care for, had slipped a few tomes into the books; most likely against Odin's will. The woman, though not his biological mother, if he even had one, had treated him like a son. She had never treated him any different then her own sons, but she had passed on some of her ways to him that the other two just were not capable, With their brutish minds. Frigga had taught him the skill of sorcery and some of her own trickery, Which he had twisted into his own form. yet, even having read through the tomes and the books he thumbed though one, it was a dusty old book about the history of mudguard. How feeble humans were, dying as quick as the sun traveled across the sky.
He had just licked his thumb and turned the page in the worn book, careful not to further damage the page, when he heard footsteps in the jail. he ignored them, as it was probably one of Thor's friends here to mock him or a new arrival into the jail, or so he thought until the footsteps stopped and the person causing them spoke. He froze for a moment hearing his brother speak, before quickly regaining his composure. "Now now, What is this?" the ebony haired prisoner chuckled, " my dearest brother, slinking around like a fox, going behind the Allfather's back" His voice dripped with scarcasm as he said Allfather, "Asking for my help? Don't you have some feast to be at?" the trickster had yet to even look up from the book, as he licked a finger and turned another page

Thor's eyes were on Loki from the moment he had arrived, and though he had seen his brother suddenly tense up, he said nothing about it. He hoped his brother didn't think he was there to hurt or chide him; it was far from the truth. As Loki spoke, not bothering to so much as look up at him, Thor felt a little something stir within him, possibly frustration at his brother's ways. Thor did not appreciate being called a fox, feeling that it made him sound dirty in some way, but he didn't comment on it. Instead, he began speaking once more, his voice holding earnest as he addressed the caged god before him. "Loki, brother, please listen," he said, keeping his voice quiet so as not to alert any of the guards. He didn't know how his father would react to his rescue of Loki, and he wasn't planning to find out.
"Loki, I do not know what I have done to you," he began, his eyes locked on the face of his brother, "But I come here as your brother, not as an enemy. Midgard needs your help. We- I," he amended, looking down for a moment, "I need your help." He paused for a moment, unsure of how to continue. He did not wish to be mocked by his younger brother, though that was usually how things ended. Still, he would deal with Loki's spite if he had to, if that was what it took to get his help. "A darkness is rising over Midgard, brother," he said quietly, "A power that I cannot defeat alone. I need you, Loki," he said quietly, eyes and voice all but pleading.

Anger flashed from Loki, upon hearing the word brother, for a brief second, it seemed like he was shaking with rage, but he took it a face value, assuming, Like always that Thor was an idiot that cant be taught to do so otherwise. He skimmed the last few lines of his book, finishing it, before ever speaking a word. "How many times do I have to tell you Thor, you are not my brother," He said it calmly, knowing full well it would be the calm reaction rather then the hate filled one that would eat at Thor.
"I still do not understand why you insist on wasting your time with midgardians, They will all be dead before you can even bat an eye." Loki said, rather flatly to the thunder god, "And if I remember correctly, the midgardians do not like me and nor I them, so why, pray you, should I bother to help them? hmm?" He held little feelings for the people that were no more then ants, they were meant to be ruled. "frankly I see no reason of my own to help if breaking out of this cell means I am thrown into another, just to help the humans raise the sun because the moon scares them" He was mocking the humans fear of night, as darkness did swallow the world every day and it was a common occurrence.

Thor could see it, the raw anger that bubbled just beneath the surface of Loki's face, could see his brother shaking with the terrible fury he felt for a moment. As suddenly as it had appeared however, it was gone. Thor did not know what he had said that was so terrible to his brother, but he would be sure to try not to do it again. Watching in silence, Thor's eyes followed Loki's hand as he closed the book he had been reading, presumably having finished it. Loki's next words sent ice through Thor's body, forcing him to look away. "Loki," he said softly, his voice a little thick with sadness. He didn't understand why his brother treated him so, why he felt this way.
Listening until Loki was finished, Thor spoke once more, resignation showing in his voice. "I came to free you of this prison, to ask for your help, brother to brother. I can see that you do not wish to aide me, so I will take my leave," he said softly. He stood in a slow yet fluid motion, his cape swishing a little as he turned away, ready to return to Midgard empty-handed. Before he took more than a half-step however, Thor turned to look halfway over his shoulder, his voice coming out soft and sad as he spoke one more time. "You have always been, and will always be my brother, Loki." With that, Thor was ready to leave, trying to force himself to accept that his brother did not care for him, did not wish to accompany him, even if it meant freedom. The weight of it almost crushed him.
