Will prettify as soon as I get the time.

Okay, so since four people have expressed interest, I think I'll go ahead and make this a group RP.

So far, I have these characters in mind:
the class clown (that guy in the back of the class who doesn't care what anyone thinks of him, but people like him anyway)
the beauty queen (the gorgeous queen bee that everyone's proud to say they hate, but she's been different ever since her brother died in a car accident)
the ugly-duckling-turned-beautiful-swan (the teased girl who turned pretty over the summer; on a quest to get revenge on her tormentors by flirting with the boys and looking down her nose at the girls)
the skater boy (self-explanatory; a laid-back, easygoing guy who simply can't be bothered to care for anything)
the little princess (pampered all her life by her rich parents; a real daddy's little girl who can't live without approval)
the factoidologist (knows all kinds of useless trivia about everything under the sun, but his actual grades suffer from neglect)
the crazy cat-lady-to-be (owns a menagerie of animals that she loves to death, especially her cats; sweet and somewhat hyper)
the band geek (music is his life; plays a variety of instruments; can often be found composing a new song in his head)

There would be two parts to this RP: "before" and "after." See, I was thinking that, with all the different characters I've come up with, it would be interesting to see how they interacted with each other, and what better way to bring these unlikely people together than by stranding them in the middle of nowhere? No reception, no internet, no nothing except for what they brought with them. If you can come up with a better idea, by all means tell me, but what I have is that they were on a class field trip (by "class" I mean their entire grade of juniors) — hiking up a mountain and camping there for a few nights — when a bad storm separated them from everyone else.
The "before" would be the changes in their relationships that occurred shortly before the incident. The "after" would naturally be what they do after they've been separated. I have plans for the "before" to maximize drama, but the "after" would be up to you guys to decide where to take it. They would of course be focusing on surviving long enough to find a way back to the rest of their class, but the relationships and drama would also play a major role.

Here is what I have for the "before" (btw, this is subject to change):
the class clown finds the beauty queen in tears after school; this is the scene that inspired this entire idea
the crazy cat lady and her best friend, the factoidologist, have a falling-out (exactly what the argument is about will be up to the roleplayers, but a suggestion from me is to involve their possibly developing feelings for each other)
the ugly duckling decides that she will spite every girl who ever bullied her — which is a lot of people — by flirting with every boy in her grade (the class clown, the skater boy, the factoidologist, and the band geek included)
the skater boy and the little princess start an unlikely friendship (again, what they bond over is entirely up to the roleplayers, but an idea is that they share similar fears of disapproval)
the band geek decides that he doesn't know his good friend the ugly duckling anymore and instead grows closer to his more casual friends, the class clown and the skater boy

Forms will be minimal, but I'm going to ask you guys to include your character's feelings about all the other characters, and also to pick at least two potential love interests (or four, in the case of the ugly duckling). Homosexual and bisexual characters are allowed, but keep in mind that some people won't be interested in RPing anything other than heterosexual relationships.

Reservations:
the class clown— The Sparrow Lord
the beauty queen— . sakorian rage .
the ugly duckling— lily evans.
the skater boy— amerikan
the little princess— Rated R
the factoidologist— sunday;
the crazy cat lady— queen of leopards
the band geek— herondale.

you don’t know what you have until it’s gone.

Elle is that queen bee that no one hesitates to say they hate the moment she’s out of earshot,
and she’s fully aware of it. She was made aware of it the hard way: through overhearing their
opinions of her while they thought she couldn’t hear, and after the initial shock — what ten-
year-old wouldn’t be hurt at hearing someone insult her behind her back? — she dealt with it
by fully embracing the image. She’s made more than her fair share of enemies on her way to
her junior year in high school, and she likely has a few more to make before she graduates.
By now, it’s almost instinct and she doesn’t even need to say anything anymore in order to get
the point across: a raised eyebrow, a little laugh under her breath, a scornful curl of her lip,
and the embarrassment and hate sets into her target.
She never meant for it to be this way. It was just that the proud Elle would rather be hated than
misunderstood and pitied, and so she lived up to others’ expectations, figuring that if she was
going to be the subject of such dislike, she might as well deserve it. And once she got going, it
grew increasingly difficult, and then impossible, to stop. Her striking features made the aloof-
ness easy to pull off. She wore the crown well, and she looked good reclining in her throne above
everybody else.

Yet ever since she lost her brother to a car accident, she hasn’t been quite the same.
Though Ethan was two years older than Elle and no longer at the high school, having started
his freshman year at college, everyone who knew both of them remembered how close they
were. Since his death a month ago, she’s seemed more pale and gaunt, the appearance she’s
kept perfect for so many years falling into neglect, a shade of her former self. Her friends
have noted that she’s stopped hanging out with them and started staying at home more often,
and her family knows that she spends most of her time in the house in her bedroom with the
door locked. Sometimes the clicking of her keyboard can be heard in the middle of her night,
though no one save Elle knows if she is doing last-minute homework or something else. But
Elle has never put schoolwork first, and this has not changed. Her fingers fly so quickly when
she types at her computer that it seems like she’s afraid she won’t have another chance to do
it, and the one who makes this observation would actually be absolutely correct. What she
does into the dead of night is record everything she can remember about her brother — the
way she saw him, what he was like, why she loved him, anecdotes from their time together —
while it’s still fresh in her mind. Before she starts to forget him. Because she knows it’s
only a matter of time, but she’s so scared of it that she’ll do all she can to stop it from
happening.
Her grades, while never spectacular, have fallen to an all-time low, but the teachers are
lenient because of the circumstances, and Elle, never one to pass up an opportunity, has
taken full advantage of this. She’s always had a flair of acting and drama, and she plays up
the heartbroken little sister. The emotions are, of course, completely genuine, but a few tears
now and then also help. In class, she is withdrawn and subdued, detached from the proceedings.
Her interactions with everyone have turned painfully polite, but if any hint is made at pity, she
quickly turns to ice.

The class clown?
“You know, people like him interest me. I’ve spent so much of my life worrying about what
others think of me that it’s just fascinating to see what it’s like when you just don’t give a damn.
I don’t associate with him much, but it’s more because I’ve never been on close terms with him
than because I didn’t want to be with him.”
(potential love interest)

The ugly duckling?
“I guess I’m sorry that I picked on her on the past, since I probably had a hand in making her
change into what she is now. She almost undoubtedly hates me by now for making her life torture
for so many years, but I suppose I’d be willing to make amends if she was too. Thing is, she isn’t,
and I can’t bring myself to try to like the way she’s rubbing everything in my face.”

The skater boy?
“He’s like the class clown in terms of my personal opinion on him— he doesn’t care, he seems like
a bit of a rebel, and I can totally appreciate that even if I don’t actually identify with it. It’s just
attractive, I guess. I barely know him, but I wouldn’t be averse to becoming acquainted.”
(potential love interest)

The little princess?

The factoidologist?

The crazy cat lady?

The band geek?

Well, Landon wasn’t supposed to be the skater boy. Not when his parents pulled themselves up by their boot straps. Not when they worked, saved, and borrowed their way into a decent college. Not when they were reduced to instant noodles and all nighters, trudging through college exams for a piece of paper that, unfortunately, they’d still be paying off ten years later. No, Landon Ray Davis, the product of hard working parents, should share the same intensity. The same fear of the letter “f”, the word “no”, and anything classified as a “limit.” His parents did not work that hard for their only son to be a screw up.

Sorry, skater boy. That’s what they call it, still?

Whatever. Point is, Landon Davis should be on his way to Harvard, not the skate park. Somewhere down the line, his parents messed up. Something triggered this obdurate need to be everything his parents aren’t.

Perhaps that instance, that life changing event, was when Landon turned eight. At that time, he was his parents little clone. They had him enrolled in a learning center and had a spanish tutor. (Colleges would crawl over broken glass on their knees to get to a bilingual student.) But on that day, someone made the mistake of buying Landon a skateboard for his birthday. It was a cheap thing, something you could get for fifteen dollars and a candy bar, less if you went to his parents’ old stomping grounds. However, he treated that thing like it cost much more. Rode it until it wasn’t worth the dirt it tracked on his mom’s floors. It didn’t help that Landon was also able to find kids (older kids, as his parents would later find out) who also loved to ride. The first thing he did when he got home was skate, find his friends who skated, stay out late and forget to do his homework. His parents were troubled. They’d never seen this kind of behavior from their perfect child. It’s a confusing spot to be in; you’re losing his focus to a piece of wood on wheels, but he’s smiling and, as much as you hate to admit it, some of those tricks are kinda cool. After all, you never had the opportunity to skate growing up. Maybe you should relax, let him be a kid.

    Oh, how they messed up.

The years passed, the habit of ignoring real work became stronger, and eventually Landon learned to tune out his parents voices. ("We didn’t work this hard for you to screw it all up.") His grades were only decent because Landon was an auditory learner; if he showed up and you’re teaching served as background noise, he could remember it on a test. Easy. But he was far from the quiet, studious, nerdy boy they wanted. Landon wore skater clothes, broke his fingers, skinned his knees. He had a sarcastic, unconcerned, independent nature as well as a rebellious spirit that drove his parents crazy. ("Why can’t you just do as we say? Why must you be so difficult, huh?") For the longest time, he made it a mission to piss them off. Not that it was hard. Being himself was enough to start a shouting match. However, it got tiring. His parents weren’t the only ones hammering college down his throat. It seemed everyone was obsessed with SAT scores, becoming a division one athlete, or wondering which college could better equip them for their major.

See, Landon could pretend not to hear, but it’s not the warmest feeling knowing you’re everything your parents didn’t want you to be. His goal wasn’t to disappoint them. That happened long before he was old enough to realise this school-thing was important. But once he found out how they saw him, he took it personally. Who wouldn’t? By that point, he was too far gone to care about changing. He simply used their regret as fuel to keep doing what he was doing. The worse he felt, the more he wanted to get away, and the better he got at skateboarding.

Still, their opinion is the only one he can’t seem to shake. He’s been through it long enough to not care what anyone else has to say. Landon skates to make himself feel alive, feel better about his situation, and if other people happen to share that same fate, then it’s a nice coincidence. Of course, this makes him a little distant from other people. Especially people he doesn’t know or relate to. However, he can hide all of that behind a calm, easy going demeanor. Most people only know of him as the boy who’s just chill, unconcerned, and does what he wants to do. That’s not a lie. Not at all. It’s just, he’s not that simple.

- - - - -

the class clown... "It may surprise some people, but the class clown is actually a good friend of mine. We share some of the same traits, but Christer's more extroverted, you know? Plus, you can always count on him to cheer you up, bring the entertainment, and stick by your side; something constant in a world where people and situations can change in a second."

the ugly duckling... "I don't hate Alex. She's got a valid reason to hate every single person who treated her wrong, and I'm not going to tell an attractive girl not to flirt with me. Her mean-girl front, however, is kind of a turn off when you think about how she use to be. And knowing how girls are, I can already see some drama there. I don't really see the two of us getting any closer. Well... not on a strictly platonic level, at least."

the beauty queen... "I feel like a jerk for saying this, but I never really gave much thought to Elle until she changed. Yeah, she was pretty. But I like to avoid drama and needlessly mean people, and as long as we're being truthful, Ella was all about being mean and creating drama. Now that she's changed, though, I do feel kind of sorry for her. And she's definitely more approachable now, so if the opportunity came up, I'd attempt to befriend her, at least."

the little princess... "I guess the princess - Dani - is someone who bothers me. Not that she's done anything to me. She just strikes me as the kind of person my parents would like me to be, and just thinking about that makes every shallow, rude thing she does even more irritating. Honestly, who would she be without her daddy's money? Then again, people have more than one side. It'd be interesting to see how she acts when she's not being the little princess."

the factoidologist... "So... is there a point to all those random facts? It gets old after a while, and I can't tell whether or not he's genuinely interested in everything or just trying to look smarter than he is. Not that it matters. I barely know the kid."

the crazy cat lady-to-be... "It's cool that she's passionate about something, but I tend to put her in the same group as Warren."

the band geek... "We're casual friends, at least. I don't talk or hang out with him as much as I do with other people, but I don't consider him a stranger. I'd actually be open to hanging out with him more. Plus, he treats that instrument the way I'd treat a skateboard, and you gotta respect passion like that."

alexandria ingrid attwater . the ugly duckling

Postby elfaron. » Wed Oct 02, 2013 11:25 am

Image
name; "alexandria attwater- nice to meet you."
nickname; "my friends call me alex, but i don't really want anyone aside from, like, ant calling me that. do feel free to make something up!"
age; "i'm sixteen, considering i'm in junior year, and all. my birthday's not until may."
gender; "maybe it wasn't so obvious before, but i'm female, as you can clearly see."
love life; "i'm still single, and i'm definitely straight. if anyone's interested, i'd be more than willing to give you a shot."

history; from the beginning of third grade all the way to he end of her sophomore year, alex was the subject of what felt like endless torment. so what if she wasn't as pretty, or wasn't as smart, or liked harry potter or doctor who or god knows what other things they teased her for? that's what she tried to tell herself through all of that time, and while she tried to act like she didn't mind it at all, their words really got to her. at the end of last year, alexandria decided that enough was enough and that she would make all of them regret being so inconsiderate by making herself just as beautiful and paying them back in her own special way.
personality; due to all the bullying, alexandria has- and likely always will have- very low self esteem. she has at least a shred of doubt for everything she does, especially when it involves eating, or sitting down to watch an episode of one of her favorite shows. she relies on others to tell her that it's okay, and that she'll be okay, and has for as long as she can remember. however, with her new appearance, she has adopted a new 'personality' as well. alex has made the point of acting confident and independent, which are two traits she's seen, but never had herself. she's still the same cheerful and friendly girl she used to be- well, not really. she almost outright refuses to talk to the other girls at her school unless absolutely necessary- with some exceptions-, and when she's forced to, she generally adopts a more cold, passive front. around the guys, she's become a bit of a flirt, even if just to show the other girls she's not as pathetic as they once thought she was. however, if you can get her alone outside of school, not much will have changed. whether you're a bully or a friend, if it's a one on one confrontation she'll drop the fake new her and the old alex will come flooding back.

RELATIONSHIPS

elvira dimonte-- the beauty queen; "she's gorgeous, really, i wish i looked like that. she's absolutely stunning, and i truly mean it. it's a shame she's such a horrible person. i hate her, i really do. she picks on everyone for being less fortunate than herself as far as appearances go. she was terrible to me, and i'll never forget it. in a way, i suppose it's good that she was such a bully, because she's what pushed me to make myself pretty, and because of that i'm so much more secure in myself. i can thank her for that, but nothing else."
danielle dekarrix-- the little princess; "she's just as bad as elle, and in all the same ways. she's practically just as pretty, and she's a complete jerk. not to mention that she's a spoiled brat... now, i won't call her stupid or anything like that, as i'm not really the type to insult others- i know what it does to people-, but i'll not hesitate to tell you that everyone else does."
xx-- the crazy cat lady; xxx
christer briener-- the class clown; "i don't know him all that well. he seems really nice, though, and he has a way of cheering people up. he's done a few nice things for me on an occasion or two, and i try to do the same for him. he's a pretty funny kid, really good company to be in, if you ask me. he's also a bit odd- but i like that."*
landon davis-- the skater boy; "another person i don't know too well, but definitely a person i'd like to get to know. he seems really nice, and he's a bit interesting, really. i never really had too much of an excuse to talk to him before, but with this whole 'making the other girls wish they had treated me with a little respect' thing, i guess now's my chance."*
    xx-- the factoidologist; xxx
anthony hopkins-- the band geek; "anthony's my best friend. he's the only person who's stuck with me through everything, and i'm really lucky to have him around. i feel really bad because i haven't talked to him all summer, but i'm excited to see him again. anyway, i don't know what i would do without him. i'm not sure i'd even be around here anymore if i didn't have him through all the bullying, and i'll be the first to admit he's pretty good-looking. i just love him a lot, you know?"*

name::"Christer Waylon Briener is the name, and entertaining is my game. Now the irony to my series of phonics is that I'm named after the very religion that would consider me to be an epitome of sin."

gender:: "I'm 100% dude, but ladies if you want to check, be my guest. I mean, all science is based off of observation, so shall we go find a nice place out in the woods to 'observe?'"

age:: "Well this is my final year in this prison, so that makes me 17 years. I am on the younger side of my class, but I'll be a legal adult when I graduate. And right now, being a child is just so much fun. Who actually wants to grow up?"

appearance:: "I don't put much effort into how I look. What you see is what you get, and I really couldn't be bothered. Wild and unruly hair, numerous tan lines from various articles of clothing, dirt under my fingernails. Now don't get me wrong, I'm clean, shower once a day and so on kind of deal. But I definitely am your outdoorsy wonder lad. Give me a couple pairs of jeans and a few flannels and I'll be set for life."
hair:: Dark Brown
eyes:: Warm Brown (Chocolate)
body:: Standard build; tall, wider shoulders, more lean muscle than muscle-muscle

personality:: "People tell me I have a wicked sense of humor, but I can't remember any of the incidents that get described to me. I guess that's what drinking can do to you, but hey, as long as I bring joy to others then it doesn't matter. If people aren't smiling I feel awkward and out of place, I can't be in a cheerless environment. Laughter is the best kind of medicine for any situation, and I like to provide it in large doses.
I have a special relationship with Mother Nature; she is my one true love. I never feel more free than when I'm out under a stretch of sky, laying in a field where all there is to see is her glory at work. It gives me a chance to contemplate things and clear my head, which more often than not is addled by some substance or another. I like to think that Old Lady Earth and I have an understanding, a mutual respect as it were; I take care of and admire her, and she'll keep providing me with what I need.
Overall I'd like to think I'm a fairly decent person. Quick to laugh, even faster to smile. I enjoy the little things in life, and can find humor in almost everything. I'm a shoulder to cry on, an ear to lend, and friend to lean on. I know how to have a wild and crazy time, but I'll always return to my roots. "

Birthday:: January 23rd
Zodiac Sign:: Aquarius
Potential Love Interests:: Elle Dimonte (beauty queen), Danielle Dekarrix (little princess), Alexandria Dattwater (ugly duckling)

Relationships::
the beauty queen... "Well Little Miss isn't an easy nut to crack, but I have seen the traces of a real smile grace her face once in awhile. I guess some of my antics must amuse her, or maybe it's more of a hidden pity sneer; I can never really know with her. There's something underneath that ice queen facade, I just know it. I've never met someone who is horrible to their core, and she isn't going to become the exception to that. She may be pretty now, but I bet she is breath-taking when she lets that wall down and smiles."

the ugly duckling... "I won't admit to going out of my way to help her, but when there was something immediate I wouldn't hesitate to lend her a hand. She returned the kindness with her own, so I'd consider her an acquaintance. She was a much sweeter girl before she got to looking the way she does, and I'm slightly concerned about the sudden personality change. Doing such a one-eighty isn't something that 'just happens,' right?"

the skater boy... "I do consider this dude to be one of my closer friends. Mr. Rebel is surprisingly non-judgmental when you get to know him, and having a partner in crime never hurts. I can actually talk to him; he treats me like a person, not just a cheap form of entertainment. I honestly can say that I'm not sure what I would do without this kid, I'd be a hell of a lot lonelier at the very least."

the little princess... "I can describe her in one word, condescending. She seems to have this belief that just because a person isn't like her then by default she is better than them. Not everyone is materialistic, or even has the money to be that way, yet somehow that makes them a lesser person. I do seem to make her laugh on occasion, but I do that for everyone. I can't see her as the special thing she views herself as. Maybe if she just gave others a chance she'd be a happier person."

the factoidologist... "I can't lie, as easy-going as I am, this kid gets on my nerves. Yet another individual who has it in his head that he is somehow superior to me. He might be book-smart, but he doesn't have much in the way of people skills, does he? Besides, someone's intelligence isn't something you take at face value; everyone goes deeper than what they appear to be. So don't go assuming that you have a higher intellect just because you turn in your homework and spout off random bits of information."

the crazy cat lady-to-be... "Animal-lover meets nature-lover, what could go wrong? This chick is alright in my book, anyone who is capable of so much love for something earns my respect. At least she has a passion, unlike some others I know. I will admit that I have tended to avoid her in the past because of her best friend. I just can't stand being around him, and she just happened to get caught up in that."

the band geek... "I've taken a shine to him. He's rather brilliant with that instrument of his, especially compared to my casual strumming. Some sort of connection got formed through mutual respect for the arts, and our friendship kinda just went from there. I don't know him as well as I want to, but he knows I'm always free and willing to hang."

color? the only color people associate with me is green

_________________________________

name danielle dekarrix
nickname dani
age seventeen and a half years old
gender female
role the little princess

personality danielle is better known as dani, and she seems to be slightly shallow, all about the money, and looking for her father's approval. she is smarter than she gives off, and she'll go to desperate measures in order to attain what she wants. Truly, most people look at her as that rich girl, that's probably rude or stuck-up. She's hard to get along with, yes, but in reality she's not that bad. She's intelligent, and she secretly wants to gain her father's approval, especially since he's always working and never spending time with his daughter, who is motherless.

history dani was young when her mother left her to stay with her father. she has no idea of who her mother is, and she wishes to find her origins. meanwhile, her father works all the time to earn enough money to live in an extremely luxurious house, complete with servants, chefs, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and even a stable with a track where her father keeps his racehorses.
dani wishes for her father's company, secretly, and its part of the reason why dani is so hard to get along with. she can act bratty at times, and this is also because she is thought to be just a dumb rich girl. in reality, dani is smart, and she wants to become a professional show jumper, as it is her sport, mainly because it is a sport for the rich, and she really wants to open up an equine veterinarian center. she wants to prove every one wrong, and has fallen into the path for always seeking approval, through clothing, looks, and especially gaining it from her father.

potential love interests the skater boy, and the band geek.

relationships dani has developed different relationships with the people around her, particularly due to her somewhat judgmental nature, longing for approval, and her rich girl instincts, that seem to be ingrained into her genetics.

the class clown
eh, dani can deal with him. she dislikes how he can be careless about his appearance, and maybe sometime even appear to be sloppily dressed or with bad hygiene, she honestly doesn't mind him too much. while dani would rather that he cleaned himself up and would occasionally be able to be serious about everything, she is willing to be neutral with him. sometimes, dani can't tolerate people that are always joking about.

the beauty queen
ugh, this girl is utterly annoying. to dani, the beauty queen is like an annoying mosquito that won't go away. dani isn't afraid to roll her eyes at this girl when necessary, and she despises her somewhat narcissistic behavior. dani can see right through her, and she can tell that this girl's utterly atrocious behavior has something to do with some emotional issue. not like dani was following the classic rule of how bullies actually had some problem at home, especially since dani wouldn't consider the beauty queen to be a bully, but dani could sense that the rumour of her brother's death was actually true, and that it definitely took a toll on the beauty queen's recent behavior. while dani would rather just be neutral with her, there is a slim possibility of her befriending the beauty queen.

the ugly duckling
a wanna-be is what dani would call her. this girl, just because she's pretty, thinks that she can get everything in the world, in dani's opinion. she's sick and tired of this little pest trying to be snide and fake, when in reality dani believes that the ugly duckling is still as stupid as she was before she turned pretty. does the ugly duckling's flirting annoy dani? nope. does the ugly duckling's attempts to insult dani actually work? nope. dani is perfectly content just acting as if the ugly duckling doesn't exist.

the skater boy
oh, now this boy is slightly intriguing. to dani, its almost as though opposites attract, but not really. not that dani wants to believe. she thinks of him as different, off, but all the while like her in some strange way- and that she can't exactly pinpoint on. while the class clown's carelessness bothers dani because its accompanied by sometimes terrible jokes, the skater boy's carelessness is almost inviting. its like something dani desires. she wants to not have the pressure that she has: as she tries to impress her father, show him that she can be successful, and in general deal with the stress of not knowing her mother. and the skater boy seems to not have any of this pressure at all.

the factoidologist
this kid's smart, and dani knows that. maybe she can use him to her advantage, especially when it comes to her trying to impress her father by attempting to invest in stocks, start an equine rehabilitation center at only seventeen and a half, as well as gain the grades necessary to get into an outstanding college: not have to pay to bribe to get in. but something about this guy seems off. he's smart, very much so, but maybe not in an intellectual way- he knows facts, but is he analytically smart?

the crazy cat lady
dani can see this girl living alone with hundreds of cats. oh wait, she's partially on her way there. dani knows this girl has cats, lots of them, and animals galore, and to be perfectly honest, this girl kind of disgusts dani in some weird way. dani feels uncomfortable when in conversation with this girl. she's just...too different from dani, or so she thinks.

the band geek
dani can appreciate music, and she's on decent terms with this guy. occasionally she'll ask the band geek for some good classical music, or something. she'd consider herself to be an acquaintance. maybe not a friend. but then again, dani rarely classifies anyone to be a friend of hers. they're all just acquaintances.
