The Firestone War destroyed the planet of Tanoria nearly a hundred years ago, decimating most life and making the land inhospitable. The humans who fought found that their machines and weapons destroyed not only their opponent's lives, but their own. Slowly the people lost their humanity, and their connection with their world. The blue skies darkened, the waters turned black, the air became polluted, and the land yielded no crops. The people who had survived the war worried about their futures, and agreed that things had to change.
The scientists spent years developing new machines to take care of their people, but found that even so, the land was vastly deadly for the human lungs. They were forced to build their towns and villages within glass domes, to prevent the outside from destroying them completely. Travel became nearly impossible between the towns, and soon the people had become isolated. Determined to not let their race's reign end, a handful of scientists took to human experimentation; combining human genetics with genetics of more capable animals. After many failures, they succeeded.
A new race of human hybrids had been born; more capable than their human counterparts, and able to travel the darkened lands with less strain on their bodies. They were not the only new inventions of this dark age, however. Other scientists, who had shunned the idea of human experimentation, had taken to developing intelligent robots. As the human hybrids, these robots were more capable, and it quickly became clear that the two species conflicted, and would eventually fall to war.

I'll be on my phone soon x_x Gah.

• Aurora Amelia Vince.
• Female.
• Twenty five years of age.
• A human with mutated DNA ; she is part border collie. A curled, fluffy black-and-white tail and black and white dog ears that are perched above her human ones are the physical attributes. She is also very good with agility and speed, and has exceptional hearing and other sense capabilities.
• Naturally a rebel, she's very independent. She is rather eccentric, liking to unearth things, styles, and other such from the past. She's too smart for her own good, and great at logical puzzles. There are times when she is stubborn as a mule... other times she is perfectly obedient. While defensive and at times overprotective, she is very sweet and only fights for a reason.
• Chest length brunette hair, a rather dark shade. Brown eyes, and sunkissed skin. Not tan but not pale. She stands at 5'11"... Very large, we know. Weighs 135 pounds. She's got long legs and she is quite the runner as a result.
• Her interests consist of anything to do with the outdoors. She is irked by cheaters, liars, and rude people.

{x}
Adisen M. Reynolds.{x}
Male.{x}
Twenty-three years of age.{x}
Species.
Adisen, like many others his age, is a human hybrid. He is, funny enough, part goat. The only thing that gives him away physically for what he is are his small horns and a stubby tail. Conveniently enough, he hides his horns under his top hat, and his tail is always concealed underneath his pants. Adisen considers himself highly lucky that he can hide those traits that give away his heritage, and prides himself on his human characteristics. His physical talents due to his mutated genes, however, is little in quantity, and pathetic in quality. His only true talent is being able to climb just about anything.{x}
Personality.
Adisen is an unusual hybrid in the sense that he hates himself for what he is. Unlike many others, who frequently show off their talents, the young goat-hybrid always does his best to be average. To blend in with the people around him, be it appearance, way of speech, or talents. He has a knack for writing, though, and can frequently be found scribbling away in a small book he always keeps on his person. He never shares his works, and doesn't even dream of publishing them. He is content with his lot in life, and strives to maintain it.{x}
Appearance.
Of his physical appearance, it's definitely his eyes that draw you in. He's got brilliant blue-green eyes that seem to lead directly into his soul; they're the kind of eyes that people kind somewhat unnerving. Normally it is only his right eye that is visible, as he has trouble with his left due to the experiments. His hair goes a little past his shoulders, and is an odd mix of blonde and black. Though clean shaven, he does let a bit of stubble grow on his chin. His height is an average 5'8, which compliments his thin frame well.

The clear sky was barely dotted with clouds. It would have been even more peaceful if it was quiet. But not in the town. This town, Kan, was anything but quiet. Hover cars whooshing by, the clatter of people inventing, the chatter or laughter of pedestrians. The lass blinked, smiling sadly. She longed for quiet, even though she was comforted by the steampunk scenario. It had taken years upon years for the atmosphere to clear, for the waters to be filtered of waste, for the land to be cleaned of debris and built on. It saddened Aurora that one war had torn apart so much. But it seemed everyone was recovering...
But there were prices. Humans, humanoids, mechanicals... All living together. The governments was still establishing and they were vulnerable, but everyone was too focused on preserving themselves to attack anyone else. She knew that the peace would never last forever, but she liked living where she didn't have to hide herself from "normal" humans and the mechanicals. Everyone lived. There were fights, sure, but the government wasn't completely stupid. There were laws against segregation and other things like that, along with more obvious laws for felonies and such.
Aurora Vince loved Tanoria. It was such a beautiful planet when it wasn't a wasteland. As she stood there in the park, exotic and colorful flowers blooming and children's laughter ringing out, she couldn't help but admire how much it had built itself back up after being so close to death. Her bushy, black-and-white tail waved its feathered plume and her extra set of ears pricked up. Some were ashamed of not being normal humans. Some were boastful. Rora was neither. She loved her animalistic heritage without gloating and showing off. She didn't care if people stared or hated, or feared.
She didn't show off in public just to display that she had better abilities than everyone else. She was just... there. As a mechanic, she had a good enough purpose in the world that she didn't need to show off to get her satisfaction. Reminded that the shop was closed up for the afternoon, as it didn't work past two o'clock PM on the weekends. She needed her relaxation too. They were normally open to six or seven, but she liked being able to have some time off, even if she was married to her job.

Click, clack. Click clack.
The mismatched cobblestone beneath his feet mimicked his pace, echoing his footsteps as he walked through the narrow street. A small alley, hardly worthy of being called a street, was the only way from his small hideaway to the main marketplace where he had some business to attend to. Each side of the alley housed a few crumbling staircases leading to small apartments similar to his own. The walls were coated with the soot of the factories, and the peeling paint of families who had long since stopped caring. Little light dared enter the darkness of the alley, and no plant dared place it's roots between the cobblestones.
He reached the end of the dismal street, and entered into a slightly cleaner and brighter world. The street he now sped along was a residential street, as the other was, but was wider and housed newer homes. Homes for more wealthy members of Kan, who took pride in their homes and kept them well-maintained, despite the nearby factories. It was a long street, too, lined with towering black light poles, done as elegant as was possible by the city's blacksmiths. The man in the top hat paid little heed to his surroundings, however, as like the city itself, it was as it always had been, and always would be. With a brisk pace, the man soon found himself nearing the market's cross street. Once there, he joined the small group of female citizens off to buy needed products for their households.
Nearly all of them greeted him, more than one with a slight blush on her face, and to each he tipped his hat. He was careful to never take off his hat if it could be avoided, for he wanted no unwarranted attention for his... more animal characteristics. As soon as he had entered the market, the voices of all the merchants reached his ears, though he had little trouble ignoring it all. A few of the merchants were friendly with him, however, and to each of them he went over for a quick handshake and a few minutes of small talk. After about fifteen minutes of this, the young man finally reached his needed stall.
The stall was simple, and held no elegant that would draw someone not specifically looking for it. He, however, was a frequent visitor, and thus hardly had to pay attention to find it among the mass of welcoming stalls. The front held no merchandise, and was simply made of darkened wood. Adopt the small counter at the stall's front, a rusting bronze bell sat. Without hesitation the man tapped his left index finger to it, and checked his appearance to ensure he was well-kept. Within moments a young man dressed in all reds and purple came to the front. So soon as the two saw one another they smiled, and greeted each other with familiar pleasantries. The stall man's face went from delighted to serious so soon as their greetings were finished, "I'm afraid there's no work yet, Adisen." The young man with the top hat didn't let his disappointment show; with years of practice, he had no trouble giving the other a polite smile and a nod. He knew there was nothing for him to say; Ralph would let him know so soon as any work came up. So, for today, Adisen decided that he might enjoy the brilliant blue sky at his favorite little park.

The girl watched the sky for a moment or two more, musing to herself. There was so much to do; she could see merchant stalls at the far end of the park, and there was always tinkering around in the shop... So many options, so many ideas... She started to walk, plumy tail wagging slightly back and forth. Her brown hair tumbled down over her shoulders, and her work goggles were still perched on top of her head, right in front of her ears.
Her khaki trousers and boots were on as always, just the same as what she wore in the shop. She was, however, wearing a clean blouse, a white one. Her work shirt and vest always got covered in grease or sawdust; she didn't usually wear them in public. Her tool belt was absent as well, thankfully, because it was indeed quite heavy and weighed her down, prohibiting fluid movement.
She glanced down at the end where the stalls were again. She was half-tempted to go over and see if there was a part she needed. Of course, this was just a little excuse, since she always had the parts she needed. She was famous for having everything imaginable when it came to materials. People would come just to buy the rarer ones when the stores were closed or failed to supply them. She did nothing illegal to get them; on the contrary, she made them.
She was not only a mechanic, but she smelted and smithed her own tools, from the bronze gears to the iron springs. She took great pride in her work. It wasn't just work, it was life to her. She just... understood what machines were like. As if she could see into the soul they didn't have. She just knew them.

Adisen's pace was much less brisk than it had been as he had traveled to the village market. After discovering there was no work for him today, he felt no need to rush anywhere. He could take his time, and enjoy the secret beauties of Kan. There were many secrets he kept to himself, like the view of the outside world from the tall clock tower in the middle of town, to the way the man-made river sparkled at dusk when the fireflies began to emerge from their hiding place among the water plants. Other secret beauties were more well known, such as the single remaining statue from the world before their own, nestled in a small alcove in a long-abandoned residential alley. The most well known place in Kan to find beauty was the small park he headed to now. It was more of an exotic garden than a park, though. Even in Kan the plants were relatively generic; mainly ferns and old-world plants filled the green patches of the steampunk city.
With a tuneless whistle on his tongue and a skip in his step, the young man reached his destination. He stopped at the edge of the grass, to take in the exhilarating scent of the blooming flowers littered though-out. A breeze picked up, and whipped his hair across his face. Mechanically, he used his left hand to pull the stray hairs away, paying no need to the cons of the wind. The wind was something many took for granted. They were lucky to be able to experience it again, though. The Dome had for so long prevented anything, including the wind, from penetrating into Kan. Adisen closed his eyes and reveled in the cool feel of the air against his skin; it sent goosebumps down his arms, and brought a light blush to his cheeks. The breeze let down, and he re-opened his eyes to the park's strange beauty.
The young, jobless man, followed a simple dirt path through the emerald grass, following it to the back of the park, where little felt the need to venture. There were no benches in the back, and few citizens with time enough to relax were willing to soil their clothing by sitting on the cool grass. After a few visits, Adisen had decided that it was worth the possible garment dilemma. The only way to be able to enjoy both the grass, flowers, trees, and the brilliant blue skies, was to lay in the middle of the grass. The only problem with laying in the grass, however, was that his hat just wouldn't stay atop his head. Which was also a reason he preferred the back of the park. Fewer benches meant fewer people, and fewer people meant less concern about his horns. With his steps still light, we wandered back along the path to his favorite grassy spot, and sat down. He laid back and attempted to find a comfortable spot, and proceeded to remove his top hat, and put it next to him. He moved his arms back to hold his head up a bit, and gazed into the clear sky.
I'm hoping this is going well. x3 Sorry if it's not quite what you were hoping for.

I can't believe you told me you've never played humans before! o_o
Deciding the best thing to do was just continue on her stroll, Rora walked lightly across the cool grass. She had half a mind to take off her boots, but she decided against it. She wasn't much in the mood for frolicking, even if it was in her animal's nature. Border Collies were very energetic, and Rora was no different. She gazed up at the sky for a moment, contemplating what to do now. So many options...Her puppy-brown eyes flickered, and she sighed softly. Glancing around, she realized that there was almost no one in the park now. The children had all gotten tired, and most of the people had gone home. Well, considering she had spent the last two hours here, she couldn't say she was surprised.
Raising an eyebrow, she stuck her hands in the pockets of her trousers and kicked at the grass broodingly. Her gaze was mostly on the sky, so of course she was not paying attention to anything else. So, obviously, it was no surprise when daydreaming little Rora tripped over something. Wait, no, someone. Someone's foot, to be precise. Stumbling, she lost her balance, reflexively sticking out her arms to catch herself as she tumbled to the ground. With a groan, she sighed with relief that she had not made a face-plant into the grass. Clearing her throat with embarrassment, she got up, dusted the grass off her, and looked down to apologize, her feathery tail almost completely between her legs in shame.
"I'm terribly sorry," she blurted out, eyes wide as she studied the boy, who couldn't have been older than she was. She was just relieved it had been his foot and not his face she had tripped over. Her gaze momentarily wandered to the top hat beside him, and then back to his face. Aurora's own face held a worried, nervous expression, and she was half-expecting him to yell at her. "I'm very sorry," she apologized again quickly, her ears pinned against her head in embarrassment. "I didn't see you there. Stupid me, head in the clouds. Didn't mean to disturb you," she explained quickly, brows furrowed in worry.

o.o I mean, I've read plenty of books. I just probably picked up a bit of that. ^.^
Having drifted off to sleep while watching the few clouds make their way across the sky, the goat-man had no idea that he was no longer alone in the secluded section of the park. Had he known, he would have quickly scrambled to his feet, and practically smacked his top hat back on. Regardless of who it was, be it someone he was familiar with or not, they shouldn't see his horns. He was conflicted over his heritage, and leaned towards secrecy about it. He always felt that people judged those with animal DNA, and with the trouble he had in getting jobs now, he'd never work again. None of this mattered, however, for he was soundly asleep, and drooling a bit. As such, he was startled awake when something hit his foot, and made a small thud as it fell over.
It was the groan that came from whatever had fallen that alerted the young man that it was actually a person that had fallen over him. Adisen's eyes shot open, and adrenaline started pumping through his veins. He took in the scene before him, and was surprised to find a dog-girl before him. Her pure brown eyes were wide as she looked at the man she'd stumbled over, and her face showed her apologies. Adisen's gaze wandered to the not-quite-human parts of the girl, though, as they reacted to her emotions thoroughly; her black and white dog ears fell back in an apologetic manner, and her tail of the same colors had gone between her legs, the same way the tail of a dog who knows it's done bad does.
Her voice confirmed the feelings on her face, as she apologized profusely to Adisen for tripping over him, "I'm terribly sorry." Her eyes wandered to his top hat, and he instantly froze. Had she seen them? His horns? He hoped not. The fact that she was like him made no difference; he had hidden his horns for so long, to be discovered now would be horrible. Her eyes went back to his face and she continued, "I'm very sorry. I didn't see you there. Stupid me, head in the clouds. Didn't mean to disturb you." Moving his hand to his mouth, he cleared his mouth, and with his other hand moved for his hat. Swiftly his hat was replaced to it's resting spot atop his head, and he gathered himself up to stand before the young lady. He gave her as much a reassuring smile as he could, and gave a small hat tip, followed by a simple, "It's no problem, Miss." Looking into her eyes, he gave her another smile, this time more relaxed, "I'd better be off. I hadn't meant to fall asleep." And with that, he turned to leave, walking across the grass still illuminated by the afternoon sun.
I hope it's alright the way I did that. It's how I normally RP, but I'm happy to change it if you'd prefer. ^^

Ah. Well, it's fine. I don't normally do it like that but you can if you prefer. c:
But knowing Rora, she's not going to take no for an answer when it comes to his response. ^-^
Her ears perked slightly and her tail rose involuntarily. "I... Okay," she said softly, but being the curious rascal she was, she didn't find that a satisfying response. "Oh, mister, I'm afraid I don't know you...? I mean, normally that's no problem, but I know just about everyone in Kan. Are you knew?" she asked quickly, her voice doubtful but polite as she trailed just behind him. Aurora was the following type, and very stubborn. Also, being the friendly Border Collie she was, she had a habit of being very open with people, even if it meant following them around to the point of annoying them.
However, what she had said was true. Being the only mechanic in town, and being the social person she was, Rora knew just about everybody. Even the people who didn't come to her shop. She wasn't a gossipy person, but she liked to be familiar with people. It was a habit that would never die. She was just one of those kinds of people: the friendly type.
Being a Border Collie seemed perfect, but just like the dog, she was unbelievably energetic and while sometimes quiet, that didn't mean she didn't have her boundless energy about her. It was much needed for her job, which was never halted unless the hours were over. In fact, if there was one thing Rora knew better than people, it was her job. She knew every name for every cog, gear, and spriget. She knew every code for every hover car she had ever worked on... She had a photographic memory.
