You stand before a dark passageway carved into the side of Ahzen. There is a metal plate nailed above it that reads, “Vindicia Training Grounds.” Upon examination, you see that it looks rather new; it hasn’t had a chance to rust or discolor. You look briefly at your Ahzenai companion, and the two of you walk in.

The passageway leads to a dark, rocky cavern: Old Ahzen. This was Ahzen before the Matter Cycle began and the vortex moved to its current place. With the light from the vortex missing, you see that there is an eerie greenish glow from parts of the walls and floor: not very bright, but enough to see by. Upon closer examination, you see that clusters of large mushrooms grow from chinks in the rock. Several particularly large groupings of them grow in several places, creating “arenas” of light.

“I wouldn’t advise eating that.” You hear a gruff female tone behind you. A dark Ahzenai peers down at you from a rocky outcrop. Seeing that she has your and your Ahzenai’s attention, she continues: “Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lieutenant Luxmaris of Vindicia, and I am overseer of these training grounds.” She signals to the cavern around you, and you notice a pair of Ahzenai locked in battle. The Ahzenai continues, this time addressing your companion Ahzenai, “This area is one of Vindicia’s facilities. We are a police force that is always seeking to improve the skills of its members and find new recruits. You are not required to be a Vindicia member to have a sanctioned battle. I am always looking for strong Ahzenai to join my team, and if you prove yourself strong enough, I may extend an invitation to you to join Vindicia.

“So, have you come to have a match? If so, then my subordinate Fane, Tryhvaari, or I will oversee your battle. Do you have a partner?”
You feel slightly miffed that Luxmaris has ignored you for the most part, seeming to favor your Ahzenai partner.


NOTE: This is an extension of Ahzenai: Matter Cycle. It is only open to those who currently own one or more Ahzenai.

{Rules and Protocol}


{How Battles Work}

= You and a partner must first agree to battle each other. You decide between yourselves whether or not to include your non-Ahz companions. Battles are one-on-one only.

= After you have a partner, post on this thread with the proper form and a battle mod will be with you as soon as possible. We will give you a codeword. You and your partner will use that codeword in your posts so that your battle mod can keep track of battles.

= When the battle begins, we will use your Speed stats or a random number generator to determine who acts first. The winner may choose one of three options: Attack, Defend, or Wait. State your option and then write a small description of how your Ahzenai acts. The amount of damage you inflict or defend against with the first two options is determined by your stat points, your level, and the number generator. Extra points that you didn't use when you Defended will count against the opposing Ahz. When you Wait, your health points increase by 10% of your starting Health.
Ex: An Ahz has an attack stat of 5. It can hit for up to 5.

Ex2: An Ahz has a defense of 5. It can block up to 5 damage. (In the next turn, If the opponent attacks for 4, then the opponent will take 1 damage.)

Ex3: Starting health 20. Health is then knocked down to 16. Waiting restores 2 health. Current health is now 18.


= You may use a potion only during your turn. Potions have varying effects that are listed in the shop post. The exception is Rewrite potions; they may only be used on an Ahz outside of battle. You may only own one potion at a time and may not purchase more during a battle.

= You may forfeit a battle at any time. This counts as a loss and does not increase the Ahz’s stats. You will, however, be able to immediately join another battle.

= After a battle, both the winner and loser need 3 days to heal before they can battle again.

= If you win and KO the other Ahz, you receive 2 stat points you may add to that Ahz in any area you like. If you win because the other party forfeited, you only receive 1 point.

= If your Ahz is KO’ed then you receive 1 stat point to distribute. If you forfeit, then you receive none.


{RP Rules}

= You will RP your Ahz during your turn after you choose to Attack, Defend, or Wait. Please be reasonable with your actions. A powerful attack description may end up causing 1 damage and an unbreakable shield could only defend against 2.

= Please do not spam (bump, unrelated chatter, etc). This will prevent unnecessary clutter and allow battle participants to see what's going on.

= Do not powerplay, mod, or godmod. Powerplaying is when a player takes control of another's character by having the character react without the owner's permission. This is incredibly rude and unfair; please avoid it. Modding is similar to powerplaying; it is when a character takes an action without giving the other character a chance to react. It should only be done with the permission of the other character's owner. Godmodding is making your character invincible. This is highly irritating; please don't do it.

= Please use discretion when describing gore. We understand that this is a battle-oriented RP, but descriptions of innards strewn everywhere are not welcome.

{More on Battling}

.Stats.
= Each Ahzenai has four sets of stats: Health, Attack, Defense, and Speed. The starting values are a default 20 Health, 5 Attack, 5 Defense, and 5 Speed with an additional 2 points added to any stat depending on your class.

= Health is the amount of health points your Ahz has. This reflects the amount of damage an Ahz can take before it is KO’ed.

= Attack is the amount of attack an Ahz can deal per turn. The value of each individual attack is determined using the number generator with the Attack stat as the max value. An Ahz with 7 attack points can deal anywhere from 1-7 points of damage.

= Defense determines how much damage your Ahzenai can defend against in your next turn. The exact value is determined the same way as attack value. An Ahz with 7 defense points may defend against anywhere from 1-7 points of damage when the opponent attacks in the next turn. If the opponent attacks for less than that amount (let's say 5) then the remaining points (2) are dealt as damage to the attacker. If the opponent deals no damage and waits instead, the full 7 points of damage is dealt (minus 2 for recovery by Waiting).

= Speed determines which Ahzenai has the first turn. After that, the players alternate.


.Class.
= There are 4 classes: Liquid, Plasma, Matter, and Gas.

= Your Ahzenai's element does NOT determine its class; you choose your class based on how you want your Ahzenai to fight.

= Your class determines your starting specialty. Being a Liquid class gives you +2 Health, while Plasma gives you +2 Attack, Matter gives you +2 Defense, and Gas gives you +2 Speed. As you level up, 5 points will be added to your chosen class’s statistic.


.Levels.
= As you win more battles, your Ahzenai will increase in ranking. Each rank is a level. Your level is determined by your total number of wins.

Level 0: 0 wins
Level 1: 3 wins
Level 2: 7 wins
Level 3: 12 wins
Level 4: 18 wins
Level 5: 25 wins
Level 6: 32 wins
Level 7: 40 wins


= When you gain a level, you receive 5 points to the stat that corresponds to your class. It is your responsibility to post a form to update your stats, as we can’t remember to automatically add it in for everyone. eue;

= When you gain levels, your probability of getting a higher number in your turns also increases.

= Beginning at level 4, Luxmaris will invite you to join Vindicia. At that time, you may choose to accept or decline her invitation.

= Unfortunately, Ahzenai do not evolve as they gain levels.

You round a corner of the cave and find yourself facing a large black Ahzenai. His looks at you with a questioning glance before motioning to a surprisingly large stock pile of various bottles. You find a scroll next to the piles with details of the contents of each bottle scrawled across it. Above those descriptions are some rules.








Rules:
  • You may only have one potion at any given time.
  • Gold potion effects are permanent.
  • Overall you may buy as many potions as you want.

Normal Potions
Normal Potions cost any 5 hoard pets from any staff member.

Plasma Potion - +2 Temp Attack Points, good for one battle.
Liquid Potion - +2 Temp Health Points, good for one battle.
Matter Potion - +2 Temp Defense Points, good for one battle.
Gas Potion - +2 Temp Speed Points, good for one battle.




Gold Potions
One potion costs any 1 VR pet.

Gold Plasma Potion - +2 Permanent Attack Points
Gold Liquid Potion - +2 Permanent Health Points
Gold Matter Potion - +2 Permanent Defense Points
Gold Gas Potion - +2 Permanent Speed Points


Rewrite Potion
Allows you to reset all of your stat points and redistribute them. Costs 3 Lions.

{Vindicia}


Vindicia is a special police force that works to stop the cruel practice of Ahz-fighting: an illegal undertaking where captors capture Ahzenai and force them to fight in underground arenas. Captors make profit from bets placed on their Ahzenai at the expense of the animals’ health. Though the practice has been outlawed for several years in the country of Batalla, the “sport” still has a strong underground following. This is why Batalla’s government created Vindicia: a division of the national police specifically dedicated to fighting captors and free their Ahzenai.

Vindicia is constantly seeking to improve its members and recruit new ones. This is why the organization ordered Luxmaris and Fane to run a training facility near Ahzen. Luxmaris is choosy, however, and she will only offer an invitation to the strongest Ahzenai.

Current members of Vindicia (known to Ahzen) and their rank is as follows:

NOTE: Batalla uses the US Police ranking system.
