Welcome to your novice RP thread! My name is MBRShorse and I will be your proctor. Together we shall battle the forces of bad grammar and miss-spelt words and come out triumphant so that you may pass your novice test thread with flying colours!
The courses here at the RP school are made to improve your roleplay and overall writing skills, and we will be preparing you not only for RPing on CS, but also on actual RP sites.
Also, please keep in mind that you are more than welcome to quit at any time, but please tell your proctor before you do so. If your proctor becomes inactive, please PM McRadik letting her know so.

Creating Your Character;
As was previously mentioned, one of the aims of this level is to teach you to consider every aspect of your character, thus creating a well-developed character who has some sustenance to him or her. To begin with this, we at the RP School have created a basic outline that you may expand on (but not subtract from).

When your character is reviewed by your proctor and deemed worthy, you may proceed to roleplay. Please keep in mind that we are training you for role play sites as well as those rp threads here on CS, so we will be doing this in a turn-based fashion. Do not step out of turn.
Turns
.Zodiax > *Aiedail* ><3NeverShoutNever > MBRShorse
Once the proctor has posted, you may start from the beginning.
A proctor may post before their turn, only if post they are replying to requires immediate attention. (A student has powerplayed or godmodded)
Remember;
• When your proctor posts, it will be in this color. Please keep your posts in black.
• When you are talking out of character (which shouldn’t happen often), always write in between double parenthesis.
• Use quotation marks! Also, you may wish to bold everything in quotation marks, as this makes it easier to distinguish talking from everything else.
Roleplay;
Okay! You have all chosen to do a humaniod roleplay, and that is what we will be focusing on. To start you on your roleplay adventure, the proctor has written up a short prompt. Please continue with it, keeping in mind everything that is included in it.
Prompt;
This is the end of all hope. The mechanical town of Getspy has fallen into a smog of mystery and corruption. Daily, people are disappearing into its grimy depths. The government claims that these citizens are merely falling off the towering, metal platforms the city is built on, but many are skeptical. There is something more, but what could it be? An answer needs to be found, and fast, before it becomes too late and whatever is lurking in the shadows takes over.
(Obviously very open ended, but I'm giving you guys a chance to work with the plot.)
Plot Notes:
-City is industrial. Lots of metal, steam, and smoke. Very polluted. It is built on tall, metal platforms that loom very high in the sky. Below them, unseen due to height and smog, is a wasteland of toxins. Travel is usually done on foot, on mechanical horses and carriage combinations, or by airship.
-This is a steampunk roleplay, so everything is very Victorian, but with a futuristic flair. Women generally wear dresses and men wear suits. People are formal and chivalrous, if they are wealthy, that is. Many mechanical gadgets powered by steam. If you have any questions, message me. I recommend looking up pictures on Google or Deviantart for references.
-No one has powers, but some have mechanical supplements, like a mechanical arms that doubles as a flame thrower or an mechanical eye with night vision. Be creative.
For your convenience, all character bios will be reposted here;[/color]

[Just thought it'd be best to show that I really am working on a bio by posting it here, although still a work-in-progress ouo]
Name: Charles Madison
Nickname: Carl
Gender: M
Age: 23
Ethnicity: Mixed European [Mostly German]
Hair colour: Dark Brown
Eye colour: Blue
Skin colour: Slightly Tanned
Special Markings (tattoos, scars, etc): He has burns on his arm that were caused by steam that leaked from a tank that he was attempting to fix. Although thankful that he only suffered a mild burn, the healed marks are a painful reminder from his novice days.
Height: 5'7"
Clothing style:Not really one to make appearances to the guests on-board, Carl doesn't dress well, preferring to don very casual and worn-out clothes. In his line-of-work, he has to be able to get down and dirty, since he's always in the engine room. As a result, he does not really care much for appearances and tends to show up wearing his old dress-shirt and pants [at times, wearing a vest over them]. Only if Carl is heading out for a formal date or if he's on an off-day will he put on the typical suit most males in this era choose to wear.
Hairstyle: A medium cut that starts below the ears and continues up. Although a bit too long for most men's tastes, Carl finds the haircut to be likable primarily because it is low-maintenance. Since he has to wake up early in order to tend to the ship because of his job, Carl finds that even the time one normally uses to brush out their hair and whatnot is useful at work. Of course, despite his occupation, he does want to look fairly attractive [like most of the men of this time], so Carl keeps his hair tied back [albeit a bit messily].
Frame: While taller than most women, Carl, not exactly at the average height for European males, falls a bit short in comparison to men. He has a sturdy body and is able to withstand most blows that come his way. As they say on the job, if you fall from your bench when you're tinkering with one of the gas tanks - you have to have a hard noggin and body, so you can climb right back on up!
Modifications:Since Carl was lucky not to have been injured during his first few years on the job, he was able to not experience the feeling of owning an artificial limb or two. A tinkerer by heart, he loves inventions but repelled by the fact that some people pay to have modifications done to their body. Using machines is fine by him, but turning the human body into a machine repulses him.
The only thing that can be compared to a modification or 'artificial limb' are goggles he wears that are able to detect heat, allowing him to find sources of technical failure in machines quickly, yet even that is pretty much an accessory.
History: Personality:Carl sees himself as something short of a gentleman.While the society he lives in generally adheres to the class system and stereotypical quo, the male only plays on it at work, in order to keep professional, or so to speak. So although he says 'please' and 'thank you' when representing himself in front of his employers, when around the general public, the male could really care less about appearances.
Outside of the working environment, the way Carl carries himself often denotes him as nothing more than a common thug. Of course he doesn't curse, fight, flip the bird, or disturb the peace, but when confronted Carl tends to blow up much more quickly - jumping on the offender's case. In indirect confrontation [he prefers insult first, fight if he has to], the male often appears as a snide and snarky man. The stress of work gets to him at times, so given a chance, he'll gladly take the opportunity to relieve some of that steam. [Ohoho, a pun.] It's best not to irritate the man, as there is a lot on his hands he has to deal with.
Likes:- Machinery
- Closed / Cozy Spaces
- Warmth [Used to it because of working environment]
- Baked Goods
Dislikes:- Formalities
- Class System
- Appearing Polite
- Being Alone at Night
Strengths:- Knowledge of Technology
- Can Kiss-Up / Flatters Well
- Possesses Velvet Tongue
Weaknesses:- Rash Temper
- Lack of Combat Knowledge
- Sharp-Tongued
- Offending to Upper-Middle Class +
Greatest Fear: His greatest fear is, of course, to die of hunger, die of negligence, die in an accident, die in some natural disaster.. Or to simply perish without accomplishing any of his goals or without the feeling of fulfillment. He has human fears, but rather than fearing 'minor' things that the upper-middle class and rich do [wrinkles, eyelashes, scandals, and death], what Carl trembles at is death, death, death, and the mere thought of leaving the world unaccomplished.
Greatest Desire: His greatest desire is to live independently, not expected to act the eldest, be responsible, and whatnot. Getting an airship and flying it out into the unknown, making others work for him, and being humbled only by his own company is merely an avenue to that life of luxury and escape. For far too long has Carl had his choices made for him. Although grateful for the opportunities he's been given up until his life as a young adult, the man has the desire to make more out of his life and much more than what his family and employers dictate.
Goals in life: Owning an airship
Occupation: Airship Mechanic
What Does He/She Regret: - Not being able to make money quickly
- Not getting a job earlier on
- Refusing to take handouts [not a common beggar, higher morals]
What is He/She Proud of:- Getting a job
- Making money honestly [though regrets that he doesn't take unearned money out of pride]
Family life: As the eldest child of three, [wip]
Other: N/A
