Morningstar flicked his tail-tip back and forth, eyes narrowed as he watched the leaders converse. "Caveclan is leaving." He suddenly announced. Getting to his paws, he leapt down without so much as a goodbye to the other leaders, his clanmates joining him.

Woolyfur with the deputies

"We're fine. A new apprentice joined us recently." Woolyfur told them. "She'll make a fine warrior when she's older. Tigerkit and Willowkit keep insisting we make them warriors because she's a moon older than them. They're five moons and she's six." He chuckled softly, amused.

Shadedleaf with the medicine cats

"That's great. I'm sure she'll be a wonderful medicine cat." Shadedleaf told her. "Cloudpool's hoping for an apprentice too. None of the kits have shown any interest in the medicine den but Poppykit and Stormkit are young. He's hoping they'll end up being interested in being a medicine cat." Shadedleaf's gaze flashed up to the leaders, staring at Morningstar. They were joining Beechclan in their fight against Tumbleclan. Shadedleaf frowned, worry darkening her eyes.

Juniperfoot + Harespring are open

"I haven't been to a gathering in ages!" Juniperfoot said, excitement in her voice. "Me neither," Harespring replied, gazing over the clans. "There's even more cats than I can remember!" Juniperfoot remarked. "Hey where'd Sedgetail go?" She asked, when she noticed the silver tabby missing. Harespring narrowed his eyes, searching through the crowd intently. "I think I have some idea," He murmured, his eyes darkening.

Sedgetail with Burrwhisker of Tumbleclan

"Bye Burrwhisker!" Sedgetail watched as Tumbleclan left and looked up at the leaders, waiting for Morningstar to give his announcements.
Sedgetail's eyes widened with dismay. They were fighting!? She glanced in the direction Burrwhisker had gone, concern biting at her.

Spiderstar smiled. "no problem. It's always nice to have new allies. By the way, my name is Spiderstar." he added after a second.

Jaystar normally wasn't one to engage in verbal warfare no matter the situation, despite having many things to say her and there, but this night wasn't something she was going to back down on. Not when Starclan was on her side. "A fight that may be very much for no reason for all we know. How can we be so sure that Russetleaf, a medicine cat, on one of the most peaceful nights in existence more than the gatherings held here, slaughtered another in cold blood? How do we know you are not making this up as you go?" Jaystar accused. Thrushclaw began to look uncomfortable as he walked to his mates side. "Jaystar calm down..." He whispered.

Aspenleaf walked around, a million thoughts running through her head. The prophecy being the main one. Her eyes drifted around occasionally to give a cautious look to the Beechclan cats as well as her apprentice. Although she would much rather find the other clan guilt to Starclan's prophecy, she just couldn't shake the image of the cat of shadow's that looked so similar to her apprentice... It frightened her way too much..

Genuinely, Hearthflame felt like the weight of the world was crushing him out of spite. Aspenleaf, even during the clan's time of grief, seemed to avoid him completely, as if it was his fault poor Mudpaw died. If only that was the reason, at least he'd know why his mentor treated him this way. It hurt him more than words could explain.. He began to trudge over to the gathered medicine cats but then stopped. If Aspenleaf didn't want him around, why would anyone else? And so he turned and found a small area to sit down and hang his head sadly.

Cypressdawn sighed for what seemed like the dozenth time that night, making Amberstorm beside him nudge him a little, but say nothing. Both knew not what to say to comfort each other. Amberstorm knew Mudpaw well, the little tom always coming her way to complain about his sister. And despite the harsh way he spoke about her, there was clear adoration in his voice, caring and loving. As if they read each other's mind, both warriors found their eyes drifting over to a secluded corner of the clearing where Mistlepaw sat, her pink bow a loud contrast to the dark gloomy air around her..

Tears stained her face as she sat with her head in her paws. In it sat the dark blue ribbon that once belonged to Mudpaw. Mistlepaw had clung to it when they found his body and refused to let it go. She wished she did though for it didn't ease the aching she was feeling for losing her brother. They hated each other, probably the biggest rivals within Soulclan, but under all that hate, she loved him to death. They did everything together and now that would no longer happen. He was gone, he left her alone. "You idiot...who said you could die." She muttered through a cry to the blue ribbon.

Thistlethorn swatted at her sister to get her off of the elder who she was showing an odd bit of affection too that was a bit new for the molly. Well, unless someone was next on list to go. And that was a huge doubt about Malloweyes. Their own mother didn't even survive there wrath... Ah well. "I certainly have. She actually managed to rid the world of Mudpaw with out getting her paws dirty. My little monster." She purred proudly, making Bouncepaw bounce slightly at the praise.

Sorrelstar hissed through her teeth but forced herself not to move. ow dare Jaystar accuse her of making something this important up? The tabby did not joke about death or war, that was strictly off policy. "Would I make up something up like this? My best friend is dead, Jaystar, dead. And every shred of evidence to his murder points towards Russetleaf. If it pointed towards another cat I'd be after them with the same ferocity. So don't even think about accusing me of making this up."

"Impressive little one. Maybe Burntsoul could take a few lessons from you, she's a bit too hasty to dip her paws in blood." Malloweyes smirked down at Burntsoul who just lashed her tail and harrumphed. "You couldn't do your dirty work without me you old shrew."

"Am I supposed to go with her?" Even now, Sleetfoot was uncomfortable with his position as deputy, and he shifted his paws awkwardly as he watched Sorrelstar and her entourage disappear. He probably was, backing their leader was something deputies did right? "Cedarslash, what do you think?" The tom nudged his mate who startled back into reality with a, "Hmm?" Sleetfoot searched her russet face as it turned to him, reading into the tired etched lines. "Are you okay? You seem pretty out of it." Cedarslash nodded haltingly. "Yeah," she breathed, "Just tired. I'll ask Skun- Asptail about it later." Sleetfoot's woory was far from assuaged but he pressed against her side and mewed, "Okay, well I think I'll stick with you then. Unless you don't want me to?" The she-cat snickered, "Oh no! Anything but Sleetfoot the feline burr!" She thwacked his side goodnaturedly and made as to push him off. He retaliated by leaning heavily against her. "Haha! You can't get rid of me that easily! You're stuck with me!" But Cedarslash gave a gasp and toppled over, dragging her mate down with her. But the grin on her muzzle said she was alright.

After a long journey in which Burntsoul was practically plastered to his side, chatting on about who knows what, Webwing was actually very relieved when she stalked off to go play witness. Immediately he felt guilty for the thought, Burntsoul didn't exactly have any friends besides him, and Malloweyes's didn't count. But sometimes even the nearly deaf tom couldn't hear himself think around her, and now she was pressing closer and closer and it was weird. The warrior found himself scanning the gathering for a sign of a familiar face in the crowd. With the spiders all hiding out for the winter Webwing had taken to frost fortune telling, and the cold swirls had told him that hanging out with Smoothpaw more wouldn't be a bad idea.

"Tanglestep!" Barkknot's excitement was mangled halfway out of her mouth by the amused purring of the she-cat besides her. "So this is your friend? Handsome tom." Barkknot flushed at Sparksong's words. Secretly agree as she might she would like the other Beechclanner to go away now please. She was embarrassingly desperate to know what Tanglestep had been going to say. 'Looking for you?' 'Thinking of you?' 'Wondering if you are actually as stupid as you seem?' Okay so the last one wasn't very likely but still. "Yeah this is him. Umm, could you maybe..." Barkknot trailed off, Sparksong didn't look like she was ready to go anywhere! "Heya mysterious friend of the friendless! My name's Sparksong, nice to meet you!" Friendless? Barkknot shrank down to half her size. She had friends...right?

Graystar said, "We will accept the alliance with Thicketclan, but I am afraid that at this moment we are not prepared to join into any wars, if that will happen. Now, we will be leaving this gathering." Willowstep got up and followed her away.

Cherryclaw's eyes trailed after Shrikepaw as he bounded back to camp. She had just concluded training for the day, and had sent him back. Cherryclaw herself, however, chose to appreciate her time alone. This wasn't her first time going hunting on her own; in fact, she often spent her free time this way. Despite being in the Clan for almost 10 moons, she wasn't very close with any of them. To be fair, though, she wasn't fond of most cats. Cherryclaw strayed farther from camp, her ears pricked as she sniffed for prey. Within minutes, she caught the scent of a pair of voles. The young she-cat crept forward silently, her eyes darting around in an attempt to pinpoint the rodents. She couldn't help but notice that the voles were leading her dangerously close to the northwest border, but was certain that she would be fine as long as she stayed on AspenClan's side.

Tanglestep smiled slightly as Barkknot mentioned that she had thought he would have someone. He shrugged indifferently, wondering whether or not it was the slightest trace of relief that he had detected from her. The dark tabby felt a bit of relief at her bit of relief. Maybe this could work, he thought wistfully, and for once he didn't chase the idea away. But just this thought was settling in, Barkknot's last statement threatened to disintegrate his fleeting bit of hope. "I hope you find someone..." Did that mean someone else? As in, good luck finding someone? Or perhaps it meant the opposite. Conflicted, Tanglestep stared down at his paws, which was very unlike himself. Pull it together! You're always so full of yourself; why should today be any different? Newfound confidence flowed through the warrior, and he lifted his head, daring to ask the fateful question: "So, um.. Are you... I mean— do you, um, have... Are you... are you seeing anyone at the moment?" he stammered. "Just because, um, I mean, if you are, um... good for you. Yeah. Good for you." Well played.

Ashenclaw & Stormbreeze

The two toms padded in silence through the meadow, searching for the kittypet that Ashenclaw had scented the day before. Stormbreeze knew that the deputy was a bit irritated, so he wisely kept his mouth shut, even when he noticed him glancing repeatedly toward the AsterClan border. Probably just nothing, the warrior thought. They trudged on without any luck of finding the kittypet. After a while, Ashenclaw said to Stormbreeze, "I think I spotted something -" he gestured with his tail "- but keep looking. Maybe in those bushes way over there." Stormbreeze nodded. "Sure." Glad to have him gone, Ashenclaw quickly made his way to the southern border, calling out softly, "Sheepclaw? Are you here?"

The bushes were quite a bit away, but Stormbreeze followed the deputy's orders and trotted over to them. He caught no scent of a kittypet, but something else. It was an AspenClan cat approaching. The gray warrior used the bushes to hide himself as he glanced around, hoping to spot them.

Cherryclaw had spotted the voles and was nearly within pouncing distance wan another scent confused her nose. She raised her head curiously, accidentally alerting the voles of her presence. They scampered away instantly, leaving Cherryclaw growling lowly to herself. With the voles gone, it was clear that the scent was only a LeafClan patrol, although it didn't seem like many cats. The young warrior crept forward, ducking behind a fern. However, she knew that hiding was useless; her deep red pelt would easily give her away, especially in the midst of leaf bare. Cherryclaw stood up and glanced around, trying to pinpoint the location of the patrol.

Stormbreeze

As the cat neared, Stormbreeze could finally see a bit of them. He chuckled at their idea of hiding, as he could easily see the red fur. Being the friendly cat he was, he stepped forward to the edge of the border where he could be seen clearly. "Well, hello there," he meowed, a smile spreading across his maw. He hoped they were open to talking as well, and not one of those cats who were disgusted at the thought of speaking with others from different Clans.

Cherryclaw watched with muted interest as a single gray tom emerged from hiding. She fixed him with a challenging stare as if she dared him to cross the border, but blinked with surprise as he padded right up to her with no signs of aggression. Cherryclaw furrowed her brow in confusion as the LeafClan cat greeted her with a smile. Was this some kind of weird tactic? Or was LeafClan looking for alliances? "Can I... help you?" Cherryclaw mewed cautiously, one ear tilted back uneasily.
