"of course! there's a really nice soft serve place right on the beach." he told her excitedly, flipping the first pancake onto a nice glass plate. he turned, and smiled at her. "first ones yours."

her eyes shone as a perfect pancake was put on a pretty glass place and slid in front of her. "it looks too good to eat. she exclaimed, looking at the pancake. brook picked up her knife and fork which she had gotten out a few moments prior. she cut a piece off and began to chew it. her ears shot up. "thish is good! she exclaimed with a mouthful of food, before putting her arm on her mouth so food didn't go everywhere, her face tinted red with embarrassment.

harper grinned brightly when she said she liked the pancakes, and started laughing when she tinted red. he took a pancake for himself, and started eating it. it was good, he had to admit. "think I'll only have one, you?"

she swallowed her mouthful before replying. "i'll probably stick to just the one thanks. don't get me wrong they're good, but i don't want to fill myself up too much since we're eating when we're at the beach. she cut up the pancake into edible pieces, before eating them, this time slower, and more lady like.

he nodded, quickly finishing the pancake. "should we go over to your place so you could get your stuff?" he asked, picking up his plate.

brook went quiet for a moment before replying. she was slightly embarrassed to take harper to he apartment. it wasn't very big. it was nothing compared to his own. brook was scared he's judge her, hate her even. after trying to think of an excuse to not go there, she came to the conclusion that they had too. "y-yeah. do you want to walk, or do you have a car we could drive?"

brooklyn looked nervous, almost scared, which puzzled harper. "no, we can take my car if you'd like." he offered, smiling. he took her plate to the kitchen, and rinsed it quickly. "give me a moment while I charge." he told her, hurrying to his room. he changed into swimming trunks that had mountain print, and put on a rash guard. he walked back out, and grabbed his keys. "ready?"

brook nodded, and looked up at him as she stood up. she followed him towards the door of his apartment. "hey harper? she started. "i i told you i was poor would that make you think any less of me? would you hate me?" she asked, although it wasn't very loud. he'd probably think she was just being pathetic, or he'd leave her since she could barely afford to feed herself.

"of course not, brookie." he didn't realize at first that he called her 'brookie', but he didn't really regret it. "you're still a nice girl, no matter how much you make." he told her, getting in his car.

she felt her face warm up when he called her 'brookie', although she wasn't going to tell him not to call her that. she kind of liked it. she knew that she was blushing, and mentally slapped herself. "r-really? that's quite reassuring, thank you." she followed him into the care, and got in the front seat next to his. "since my parents left i've moved into a different apartment, a small and trashy one at that. i barely have enough to pay for it and feed myself. obviously i'm coping, but i thought you'd think i was some peasant who smells like rotting fish and avoid me. she confessed, looking out the window, fiddling with her hands. "i'm not sure how clean the apartment is, so i apologize if it's messy when we get their.
