Kestrelflight shrugged, staring at the cover for a moment. "Maybe but we'll find out later." He watched the moonclan cats outside. "They are so weak now." He said. "Sunclan would easily win a battle against them."

"Did she tell you that we're supposed to become mates?" Aspentail guessed.

Otterpaw nodded, sitting down to groom. When she was done, her fur was still a bit damp but looked dry.

Lichenflower nodded and sat down, blinking curiously at him. "What is it?" She asked.

petalfall nodded in agreement. "but they seem like they have learned new moves, some that they used on us were some that i can't recall," she said.

sweetpaw looked very frightened and embarrassed. "how did you know?" she asked.

"let's go now," mapleclaw said, now that they looked presentable.

"well i was wondering if- if you would be my mate?" runningtail asked, scared that she would say no.

Kestrelflight nodded. "We'll have to be careful. Maybe if their apprentice starts practicing battle moves in camp, we can watch to see what moves they use."

Aspentail narrowed his eyes at her. "You woke up and her eyes were blue and glowing and you told me. It's apparently our destiny to become mates." His eyes softened at the frightened look in her eyes. "We can't change destiny but we can't force it either. Perhaps if will happen but only time will tell."

Otterpaw nodded, looking a bit happier now that her fur was groomed. "Okay." She agreed, following her mentor back.

Lichenflower's eyes sparkled with joy. "I-I.. Yes!" She purred. The tortoishell hadn't loved anyone since Foxclaw and he was dead. Lichenflower knew that he'd approve though. He'd want her to be happy.

petalfall nodded. "you mean apprentice," she said to kestrelflight with a smirk.

"oh," sweetpaw said then blushed. "well we have to wait till i'm a warrior anyways!" she said.

mapleclaw kept walking but a wispy, ghost like figure stopped her in her path. "blood," she said as she bristled.

runningtail smiled. "i know i'm nothing compared to foxclaw but if i can be even half of the mate he was then i will see myself as success," he said.

Kestrelflight just shrugged. "It'll be useful to know. We may be warriors but doesn't mean we can stop learning more moves. We can get back to camp and tell Skystar about it. It'll be useful if we're ever in a battle against them."

Aspentail looked around the forest. "Right well I think that's enough for today. We'll dig up our prey and bring it back to camp."

Otterpaw accidently bumped into Mapleclaw and frowned. "Hey why did you..." She trailed off at the sight of her dark forest mentor.

"Just saying that tells me you will be an amazing mate." Lichenflower replied. "Besides it's not that you have to worry about. It's Otterpaw. She's never had a father and I'm not sure how she'll react." Lichenflower worried.

petalfall nodded. "new battle moves are always useful but they might be think the same way and might be training out of camp," she said.

sweetpaw nodded then dug up her prey and started to walk back to camp silently.

mapleclaw unsheathed her claws. she watched blood snicker then he disappeared but in his place was a fox. "run!" she shrieked, running the opposite way.

runningtail sighed and smiled. "i'm sure she will be okay, let's just hope she doesn't slit my throat," he joked.

Kestrelflight shrugged. "These are basically rogues though. Perhaps they train in camp."

Aspentail unburied his prey and began padding back to camp. He flicked his tail, wondering whether to tell Bluemoon and Skystar what happened.

Otterpaw's fur immediately bushed out with terror and she spun around, her paws pounding away from the fox.

Lichenflower purred with amusement but her expression soon turned serious and worried. "I hope she'll be okay with it. It'll be very new for her." The queen fretted.

"true, now they don't even have clan names, they should just stop calling themselves a clan, they probably don't even respect starclan even more!" petalfall said, slashing her tail.

sweetpaw carried to prey, staying quiet but wanting to say something. did aspentail even like her?

"up the tree, otterpaw!" mapleclaw said, jumping into the base of a tree and climbing to the lowest branch so she could grab her apprentice if she needed help.

"i'll try to make it as easy for her to like me as possible," runningtail said with a smile. he felt eyes on him and turned to see bluemoon looking at him. as soon as she realized that he was looking at her, she looked away. weird.

Kestrelflight nodded in agreement. "Their leader probably doesn't have nine lives like Skystar does." He murmured.

Aspentail was quiet, his mind in turmoil. He liked his apprentice but not like that. Usually mentors and apprentices didn't become mates so this was even more confusing for the tom.

Otterpaw nodded, darting towards the tree and climbed. She could feel the fox's hot breath on her tail and felt a sharp spike of terror.

Lichenflower gave a small worried smile and followed his gaze to Bluemoon. She blinked curiously, but shrugged, looking back at her new mate.

petalfall nodded then heard a sound and looked up to see a cat moving the cover off of the top. she took a second look and saw that it was really two cats. "come on! but be quiet!" one said. petalfall quickly jumped then pulled herself out.

sweetpaw sighed. she couldn't change her destiny, what would happen if they never opened up to their destiny?

mapleclaw quickly grabbed her apprentice, helping her up to a higher branch, trying to get higher faster.

"so, don't you think that mapleclaw and otterpaw have been missing for a while?" runningtail said, worried for his sister and now his new adoptive daughter.
