[ they just need to get married already ]

Ludwig bit down on his lip, shaking his head at the other's remark. I wonder if he's doing anything for Christmas... Does he even celebrate Christmas? But, I guess, Feliciano wouldn't want to meet the family. More like I don't want them to meet him. They'll torture me afterwards. He sighed at the thoughts in his head, nerves rising in his throat as he even dared to think about asking him. Maybe one of these days he would ask. That was if Feli stilled wanted to be his friend.

Good thing that Ludwig was planning on touching him again okay that did not mean to sound dirty like it came out. He softly put his hand on his back again once they got to the basement, directing him through the darkened hallway before getting to a door. He let go of the other, pulling open the door before returning his hand. Ludwig, of course, knew the best machine in this room which was dimly lit and had a billon of machines and not to mention a bunch of chairs connected by a pole in it. He used his hand to guide Feliciano to the third to the last washer and dryer unit in the corner of the room. "If you ever need to go down here with your brother or something, use these machines. They work the best, even though I've had to fit it at least six times..."

[ seriously ]

Entering the basement room, he rushed over to the chairs, setting down his basket. "Wow, thanks for the advice." Stepping over to the machine and inspecting it, he questioned "You can fix this?" Eyes widening with admiration. "Do you fix lots of things? Are you super handy?" Feliciano was a fountain of questions, and he really didn't always expect a response—though he loved hearing about other people.

"Yep, well, what're you doing in the next few days? We should do something." Laughing quietly, he admitted "I sort of made up a lot of plans for us already, haven't I? But we definitely should go to that shop sometime." He swung his legs from where he was sitting on top of the clothes basket, thinking. "But I go to church on Sundays with my family, so probably not then. Not that shops would be open, really." He hummed in thought, a song had been stuck in his head all morning. He couldn't for the life of him figure out what it was, though.

[ how can he not be catholic with rome though ]

[ possibly the frickle frackle as well?? ]

Making sure that Feliciano gotten in without falling down, Ludwig dropped his basket on the floor in front of the machine. "I guess. I wanted to be an engineer when I was younger." He responded, with a small shrug. He opened up the washer machine, shoving all the clothes he could fit into them with leaving some room to put Feliciano's clothing inside as well.

Ludwig smiled, hiding his face a bit while pushing all his clothing deeper into the washer to create more room. "Uh, well it depends on how many people get murdered.." He said awkwardly, standing up and turning to the Italian. Seeing him sitting on top of the laundry basket, his hands went to his hips. He shook his head. "If you don't get off the basket I'll lift you off of it." Ludwig said, rolling his eyes and chuckling, taking a step closer to Feliciano.

[ I snorted soda out of my nose ]

"What changed your mind?" Feliciano's eyes swept the other's face, curious. "To go with the police instead, I mean." He shrugged. "At least you're doing something that you... well, like. I mean—I don't know how to be tactful here, but—I'm sure it gives you a sense of purpose." Still swinging his feet and ignoring the order to get off the basket, he added, "And you still get the chance for hobbies, so that's good."

Unfortunately, once Feliciano started talking, it was pretty hard to stop him. "But for more than one reason, I hope nobody gets murdered." He smiled wistfully. "It's so sad that people die so often. Nobody deserves that. But, I guess, being immortal would be really painful, too. Can't win, huh?" Not really looking for a response, Feli continued his musing. "I think it's so weird that we're so self-aware as a species. It kind of freaks me out. Like, we wonder what other worlds are out there." As Ludwig approached, Feliciano stopped chatting and held his arms out, mischievous twinkle in his eyes. "Go ahead, then." Getting in the way was fun, but of course he'd help with the laundry... in a minute.

[ Lud used to be Lutheran, I think, when they had an official religion (Martin Luther's orders right right), but I'm pretty sure Germany is split between Lutheran-Protestant (EKD?) and Roman Catholic. I think that's current. Think. Either way, Christian, yeah. ]
[ ALSO, HAPPY FOOD DAY ]

[ oh god that hurts so much ]

Ludwig watched him carefully, shaking his head and biting down lightly on his lip. "My grandfather always thought I would be a good policeman. Too bad he's still in Germany." The blond shrugged before shaking his head again when Feliciano started rambling.

"Okay, this conversation has gotten a little too deep, Feli," he teased. Ludwig neared him, holding out his hands and gripping onto Feliciano's hips. He lifted him up and off the laundries before gently setting him down on to the floor. Wow. He was really... Soft. That was weird. God, he was so gay. Ludwig pulled his hands away, turning around to avoid Feliciano seeing his blush.

[ luckily it wasn't terrible aha the worst—trust me, I'm a scientist—is cool ranch dorito up the nose. Sharp shards + spice AUgh ]

Feliciano snorted incredulously as the other lifted him easily and put him down. "What am I, a feather? What on Earth do you lift?" Curiously hitting the taller man's bicep lightly—as an experiment, of course—he carried on following the other to the laundry machine, where he stubbornly snuck ahead and loaded the laundry by himself.

"By the way, is that it? Your reasoning?" The young Italian was concerned. "You do enjoy what you're doing, though, right? I mean, my family wanted me to go into, um, business, but I couldn't do that. I knew it wasn't going to work out." He knew how important family is, really he did, but taking care of yourself is important too. "But if it does make you happy, your grandfather should be proud. I'm sure you're just great." Feliciano laughed lightly. "You can just pick up the criminals."

    [ oh mY GOD ]

"I lift heavier things than you do, like dead bodies," Ludwig joked lightly with a smile on his face as he watched Feliciano rush and beat him to the washing machine. He didn't know that this had turned into a competition. He glanced over the other's shoulder to make sure he was doing this the right way, which shoving things into the washer wasn't very hard.

He nodded at the other's words. "Of course." Ludwig walked over to his side, leaning against the machine and watching him before taking out his wallet to pull out coins to slip into the machine once the other was done. He's such a gentleman. The German raised an eyebrow, his mind couldn't even picture Feliciano working in a business... Unless maybe working at a flower shop, bakery, or something quaint. Possibly even a Starbucks too. "I would invite you to come along, but I guess investigating crime scenes aren't the nicest places to invite a friend to..."

Ludwig's comment nearly brought Feliciano to tears, he was laughing so hard. Sputtering, he managed to choke out, "I-I'm sorry, I just imagined you with a perfectly straight face, hauling bodies around on your shoulder." He wiped water from his eyes in an attempt to recover. "Shut up, you don't just grab them up and waltz around. I know there's procedures for that." Suddenly, he spiraled into a fit of giggles again. "You're so straight-laced, you're not going to go dragging them around." Flexing his arm and showing just a teeny-tiny bit of muscle, he pointed at it. "This is why I'm an artist. This is my dominant arm, too."

He was honored by the other's comment, but was afraid he'd mess everything up. He'd probably trip on some organs or something and mess up the whole scene—and then Ludwig would be angry, and—nope, better not. "I could get you in trouble, Lud. Can't have me meddling around. But it's cold outside, so if you text or snap me when you get off of work, I could meet you. You know, then you don't have to spend a freezing night in, too." Face going from smile to grimace at a new thought, he continued. "I'd worry about you having a snapchat, now, if I wasn't pretty sure snapping crime scenes is illegal. Well, it feels illegal. Could be wrong." Speaking of, he pulled his phone out of his pocket, scrunched up his face, and sent it to Lud, captioned "I'd better not get intestine snaps." He loved snapping people while they were in the same room as him—he could see their faces, and usually, the eye-rolls were priceless.

Shyly smiling because Feliciano was just dying, Ludwig watched him and didn't even really think to bother to hide his smile. He was glad that someone at least found his attempts at joking funny unlike his family who just gave a snort in response. He had, definitely, never met anyone like this little italian. Ludwig couldn't help but chuckle when Feliciano flexed his arm, bring his hand up to poke the small section of muscle. "With all that muscle, you could throw your pencil and it would probably kill someone." He softly teased the shorter man.

Ludwig looked down at his feet, shuffling them awkwardly before the other piped up again. His head turned upwards, his eyebrows rising as he tuned into what Feliciano was saying. He chuckled at his words about him being bad with having a snapchat. Seeing Feliciano take out his phone and make a face, Ludwig took out his own phone and flipped to the snapchat app. He pressed down on the square, seeing the picture and the caption. Feliciano was right, he couldn't help but roll his eyes and laugh a little bit. "I'll take selifies with a bunch of corpses and send them all to you."

Glad that Ludwig seemed more comfortable every minute, Feliciano played along. "I know. I'm very dangerous with my art supplies. One day, if you find a man impaled with a paintbrush, you'll be like, 'that Feliciano and his ripped arms, that's who to blame here.'" Hopping up on the now active washing machine, he looked down in surprise. "Wait, when did you start this?" He smiled widely. "You should've let me help pay." He searched his pockets for change, coming up empty. "Okay, well, I can repay you, then."

Hearing the other's new joke, he giggled. "I'd die. Then you'd have to investigate my murder. But it'd be your fault. Death by gory selfies." Now on another elevated surface, he could swing his legs again, which he did, happily. Feliciano wasn't very good at sitting still. Instead, he turned back to conversation, as bluntly as ever. "You know, you should smile more. It suits you." He tapped Ludwig's forehead ominously. "You get wrinkly here between your eyes when you're... well, normal, I guess." Always looking out for people's faces... that's all, obviously.
