Silent Night

Silent walked quietly around, listening to Thyla speak.
She understood. It was very nice here and she could see how Thyla could enjoy it.
The bed was white and everything neatly organized.
Very nicely done, tapped Silent.

Thank you tapped Thyla.
She made her way to the bed, then sat down.
She patted the soft fabric as to summon Silent so
they could 'talk'

Silent Night

Silent ran her paw down the wall,
feeling the perfection of the color. She could feel
how smooth and perfect it was.
She didn't hear Thyla's tapping, but instead her enhanced visual perceptions
noticed a small movement in the corner of her eye and Silent
sat on the rug beside Thyla.

Do you like it here? Thyla asked, leaning over toward Silent.
Thyla fiddled with a loose thread from the lacey sheet's fringe.

Silent Night

Silent's tail ran across the soft
ground as her eyes looked down at the floor.
Yes, I suppose I do.
Her eyes blinked slowly and ears swiveled in
habit.
Her blue jewel sparkled with tiny water droplets,
and her tail soon became slightly damp.
Have you a best friend?
she asked, her electric blue eyes in question.
Silent knew that Thyla couldn't see them.
Yet she knew she could feel them.
Her awkward phrasing illustrating
Silent's own self.

Thyla could smell a bit of water, but she didn't mind
Besides you, no. I'm happy for that.
I've heard other dragons really having a hard time from friends like that. Thyla tapped, making sure she didn't tap too fast.
She could feel the looseness of the water tense up into ice.

[Actually yes. I dont really mind it.]

Silent nodded and felt the ice become hard,
Her jewel touched the ice shard,
and nothing happened, to her surprise.
She could not melt the ice.
I understand that completely,
tapped Silent quietly.
Hard to find a best friend in a world so different to us.

Thyla nodded solemnly.
She knew what she meant.
At her school she goes to, the students had laughed at her.
Then she found out.
Thyla was in a horrible mood for weeks.
She was tensing up herself, Thyla had noticed.
Her shoulders were hunched up.
Thyla relaxed, feeling the ice return to a liquid.
What do you do for a living, Silent?

Silent noticed Thyla's tension,
and then the realization hit her too.
She had been clenching up her muscles-
Maybe this subtle unison movement represented the friendship they shared.
At Thyla's new question, the change of subject,
Silent paused before tapping,
I play my ocarina at the metro stops.

Thyla nodded slowly again, taking in every word Silent tapped.
I bet it's quite a pleasant surprise for other dragons.
All I do is be lazy. tapped Thyla.
She hung her head a little, ashamed of herself.
