Shiallia lowered her knife. She inspected the cowering zora through narrowed eyes, then sighed. "I won't hurt you... Ferondir says you're alright." Where'd she get that necklace? It's interesting... I wonder what the rest of them are like... Are they all like this? She looked at the zora again. Probably not.

Ferondir of Mira -- Arbour Harbor

Ferondir shrugged. He spotted a bench. "I'll just let you too get acquainted, since we'll all be traveling together soon." He hobbled over to the bench and sat. Oh, the blessed rest. He leaned back and set his staff beside him. He felt like a nap was in order, and so closed his eyes, his hand resting on his staff.

Shiallia looked at Sapphire. "Where'd you get that necklace?" Her eyes were narrowed in suspicion. Shiallia glanced behind her to make sure Ferondir hadn't moved. If Ferondir wanted to kill me, he would've. He has magic. Sapphire, however... She hasn't had an opportunity. Best not give her one. Shiallia's hand was instinctively hovering near her knife. "I don't trust you. I have no reason to. Don't try anything." And with that, she walked over to the bench and stood next to it, half-leaning on the unoccupied side. She hadn't let Sapphire out of her sight even for a second.I could've handled that more politely, but at least I was honest. So much for getting acquainted.

Ferondir of Mira -- Arbour Harbor

The tension was palpable. Ferondir opened one eye, and turned his head.
"She's harmless, Shiallia, just chill," he said. "We're in the middle of town, surrounded by guards and witnesses." He glanced to Sapphire and back. "And I think you're scaring her."

"I'm sorry. Being friendly can get you killed if you're not careful." She was serious, but her apology was sincere. She looked Sapphire in the eye. "Hello. How are you doing... Sorry, this isn't my... Specialty." She was still cautious but a bit less tense. Why am I so bad at this? I think Ferondir's getting annoyed... If I keep acting like this, I'll never make friends, but this is who I am. How am I supposed to handle this? Okay... This is me, but I remember laughing and playing too. And not faking it. So I must be a nice person somewhere inside. I'll have to pretend to be friendly until I trust them enough to really be their friend. I guess it's not pretending if you mean it, and just aren't their friend yet.

Sapphire thought to herself. My necklace... my mother's necklace... She seems interested about it, better keep a tight hold. She did apologize, but she still hovered her hand by her knife. Sapphire got up, still holding her shield, and murmured shyly,"Sorry I surprised you... didn't mean to, just feeling really freaked out by all the people everywhere. Haven't had perfect experiences with people, so I was trying to hide behind Della, 'cause I trust her..." Why am I rambling? She clutched her necklace.

"..." Shiallia smiled a tiny bit. "I'm sorry too. I didn't mean to scare you. I'm rather... Impulsive sometimes. Well, less impulsive, more I act on instinct a lot. That can save my hide, or make me look like an insensitive jerk." I hope she and Ferondir don't think I'm a jerk anymore. They're currently the closest thing I have to friends, and even if its stupid, I don't want to lose them.

Ferondir of Mira -- Arbour Harbor

Ferondir closed his eyes. They were getting along now. Good. It seemed that Shiallia didn't know a whole lot about social norms, but she was trying. He thought about all the things he'd said and done since he'd decided to follow Zeph into the woods. So many amazing things had happened.

So many lessons.
So much sadness. So much regret.
So many misfortunes.
So much kindness, he won't soon forget.

A bright green flame popped into existence above Ferondir's head, and a scroll and an envelope dropped into his lap.
He opened his eyes.
The scroll was sealed with the sign of his mentor.
He opened it and read it silently to himself, careful not to show the others until he knew what it said.

Ferondir, my faithful student,
Of course I'll allow you to go on such an illuminating adventure. You're sure to understand more about magic when you return.
The envelope contains one of my most treasured amulets. DO NOT open it until you are alone. Do not show it to anyone until you understand it completely.

Ferondir let the scroll curl back up and placed it carefully into his satchel. He picked up the envelope.
It weighed almost nothing.
He very much wanted to open it, but he was far from alone at the moment. He slipped it in beside the letter. Thanks for the permission, thought Ferondir. He'd sent the letter asking and had been so caught up in the adventure, that he hadn't waited for an answer. I'm glad he said yes. At least he didn't have to apologize now. He looked round at the girls.
Still talking. Although he could have sworn that Shiallia's eyes darted away just as he looked up.

Day 5 (Afternoon)/Guzore the Goron/20/Where: Arbor Harbor/With:Everyone except Zeph, Jack, and Amethyst

Before Andromeda could answer, Guzore heard familiar voices around the corner from him. He turned around to see Ferondir, Sapphire, Della, Jakub, and a blue-haired girl he hadn't seen before.
Oh hey guys! How's it going?
He noticed Ferondir limping slightly, and saw that his hair was also messy and he was missing a hook.
Whoa, man, are you alright? What happened?

Ferondir looked over at the sound of Guzore's voice. "Me? Oh, I flew into a tree. I should be fine. This is Shiallia, she's going to come with us to castle town." He turned to Shiallia. "Shiallia, this is Guzore, the goron I told you about."
