'What's wrong with you? I thought you wanted to chat!' Shadepaw thought, scolding herself for freezing up before the apprentices that she willingly padded up to, now she stood as still as a stone while everyone else kind enough to greet her. She remembered her hesitance with being at the last Clan gathering too and how she managed to open up to Hearthflame and Blisspaw easily. Surely the same would happen here, right? At the ginger tom's greeting, she realized she had not either anyone her name. "I-I'm Shadepaw... of PineClan." She mewed, feeling embarrassed that she had not said so earlier.

Weaselstorm stood up from his more secluded spot to stride up to the other medicine cats, though he kept his cold blue gaze on Russetleaf. "And you couldn't reason with him?" He meowed coolly, referring to molly's leader. "You could tried to make him see what little sense it is to start a war in the middle of leaf-bare, surely he would have listened to his own medicine cat." He sighed in exasperation, shaking his head to try and compose himself before e grew angrier. "At least PineClan wasn't terribly injured in the battle." He muttered.

Sootpelt's fur immediately prickled uncomfortably at the younger cat's hostile expression. When Finchtuft spoke, it took a moment for his words to sink in. But when they did, it was like a mighty kick to the stomach. Rippleberry... is dead? Sootpelt's heart pounded in his chest, feeling as if it might burst. Sootpelt had to stifle a cry of grief when he realized that he would never see his mate's smile again. "W-what happened?" he asked carefully, promising to rip his claws through whoever killed Rippleberry. At the mention of the kits, the dark tabby's ears pricked just slightly. "Her kits... Are- are they alive? What are they like?" Can I meet them? Sootpelt ached to ask the third question, but with the way Finchtuft was looking at him, he knew that it would be unwise.

Russetleaf - Talking to Ramhorn (OPEN ANYWAY)

Flicking her ears uncomfortably, Russetleaf nodded. ''I know...but he's been depressed these past few moons and plus the death of Greynose.'' she explained, although she knew it was a poor reason in the shadow of all the blood that was spilt. ''But that's no reason...'' she added. ''I'm sorry, I truly am...''

When another cat spoke up, Russetleaf turned to Skunkbrush, uncertain if she should be grateful for his interveinance or not. ''I agree...but Tumbleclan still did very much wrong....Sagestar did wrong.'' She murmured. Turning to Weaslestorm, she shook her head. ''Swanfoot told me to leave him alone.'' She purred, attempting to soothe her frayed nerves. ''And I do believe he went to war almost as soon as he arrived the gathering...''

Smoothpaw crept towards the gathering of medicine cats, her tailtip twitching in nervousness. "Smoothpaw, you have to go to the gathering alone. I'm sorry, but Rabbitwish and I are needed here.." Dawnglow's words echoed in her mind. Smoothpaw flared her nose. Does she think I'm unneeded? Her heart dropped at the thought. Am I no use to her? Just another cat to clutter the medicine den? The brown apprentice padded into the clearing, staring at her paws. She felt very self-conscious, her pelt prickling as she sat wordlessly.

MottledBerry panted as she ran up to the edge of the clearing. She took a moment to compose herself, then walked in, acting as if she had intended to be late.

Skunkbrush shook his head slightly, he wasn't mad at Russetleaf, she had been put in a tough situation, just disappointed he supposed. "The only thing nessary for the triumph of evil is for good cats to do nothing. As medicine cats we have the unique position to be able to tell our leaders off, especially when they are in unsteady states." A flicker of Shadowslip's kitting came first to Skunkbrush's mind, but he was aware he was not free of the crime of simply listening. When he got back to camp he was going to have a long talk with Sorrelstar about Malloweyes.

For whatever reason, it rubbed him the wrong way to hear Sootpelt asking after the kits. And though he was close to turning his back on the tom without answering, some awful, kind part of his mind wouldn't allow it. But just because he wasn't about to leave without answering didn't mean the answer wouldn't be as harsh as he could manage. "She died giving birth." He meowed pointedly, stepping forward until they were nose to nose. "I had to go out into the forest after Rainwhisker had her kits - to find my mentor dead in the underbrush." The silver tabby's voice broke as he remembered, closing his eyes tight and staying that way for a long moment. When his eyes opened again, they were noticeably softer. "But her kits are fine. There's- there's five of them, three toms and two she-cats. Fennelkit, Crowkit, Pebblekit, Goosekit, and - and Ripplekit."

MottledBerry's ears flicked, catching a familiar voice. She scanned the crowd, quickly locating FinchTuft. She smiled and trotted over, but stopped several feet away after hearing a snippet of the conversation and seeing how...hurt...and furious the tom was.

Weaselstorm shook his head in disapproval how how little Russetleaf was able to discourage Sagestar from attacking, if it had been him in her position he would have been a lot more insistent. He wasn't about to scold her now though, not when it was clear she was growing overwhelmed by everyone's talk of of her Clan and the battle. "What's done is done, I guess. We'll just have to heal our Clans to the best of our ability." He meowed, then turning to Ramhorn, he asked him a question once it seemed the EchoClan cat was free. "Heard one of yours was blinded, condolences for that by the way. You using celandine for them?" That was the most effective herb against any kind of eye trauma to him, and he believed he had some to spare in case Ramhorn needed it.

mallowpool just sat and listened to them bickering, paying attention to everything they were saying. his pelt prickled uncomfortably and he stood up. "just because we can tell our leaders what we think does not mean they will listen." he felt bad for the other medicine cat, and decided to jump in. "and sometimes, it is better for the whole clan if they keep their opinions to themselves. i doubt a leader would be happy with their medicine cat speaking out of turn, healer or not."
