1 x 1 w/ Ineffable Woes

"I would probably let you try it today if your bribed me." He looked over at her and smiled. "I will have to try your mom's pie sometime if you say it's that good." He said. Luke wasn't really a dessert person but enjoyed a good dessert every once in a while. When he was young be never wanted a cake. All he had cared about was the dinner and the company.

Rayne grinned softly and nodded to him as he suggested trying her mum's cooking. "Well, when we're back at work, you should join the group of us that go to lunch to my parents' cafe. If my mum likes one of my coworkers, she gives them a family discount card on the sly, so that others don't get jealous." She chuckled gently and glanced around the room once more. "The past two years or so, the cafe has been open on Christmas Day and they cook up a huge dinner and the cafe is open to those that spend it alone, or families who can't afford a proper time. They're just generally very nice people, my folks."

"I will think about joining the group when I get back. I have a weird schedule though." He said, listening to her suggestion. Luke then continued. "Your parents sound like really nice people. I don't know many who would help others out like that, expecially on Christmas day." Luke smiled at her. He could hear in her voice how proud she was with her family. "If your family ever needs help with that kind of stuff go ahead and give me a call." Luke's family also tried to help out when they could and all focused on something different. Luke spent some of his free time helping troubled youth but lately he hadn't had as much time.

"We can always make it an early or late lunch, if you're particularly busy." She suggested with a warm smile, somewhat surprised at his offer to help out. "I'm sure they wouldn't turn down an extra set of hands to help, that would be really cool if you could." She was awaiting her dessert somewhat impatiently, she was excited to try it, though a little worried she may not finish it - and she hated wasting food.

"It's a date." He said referring to her statement about going for food. Luke smiled. "Just let me know when they need me and I will be there." The waitress arrived with their desserts and placed them on the table. "Enjoy!" She said cheerfully before walking off to help a new customer that just arrived. Luke tried his pie.

"Thank you so much, I'll let mum know later I've recruited someone, finally." She grinned softly and ooh'ed as her sundae was put in front of her, taking up the spoon and digging it in straight away. "This looks so good... I'm going to put on so much weight here, it'll be so worth it." She chuckled and had a mouthful, humming in happiness.

Luke smiled and looked at his pie, grabbing his fork. "I can't lose my figure. I have a reputation to uphold." He joked, chuckling. He then took a forkfull to try. The pie mixed with the ice cream was absolutely wonderful. He would definitely have to try it again. Without asking Luke reached across the table and tried a forkful of hers. He smirked at her as he chewed.

"Hmm, my reputation is subject to change." She grinned, taking another spoon of her sundae, humming in her enjoyment. It was refreshing and tasted incredible. She was always fan of ice cream and fresh strawberries, the fruit compote was also a lovely mix into it. She pouted a bit, though a grin was clearly fighting through, dipping her spoon over to his bowl, taking a little bit of apple pie and ice cream and taking the bite. "Hmmm, that's decent."

Luke smiled across the table at her. "I'd say it's pretty good." He said. Luke finished his pie after another couple minutes. "I'd eat it again. What about you? Did you enjoy yours?" He asked her, genuinely curious on whether or not she had a good meal. He was full to the point on wanting to get on a looser pair of pants but planned on doing a workout later. Maybe find a gym somewhere on board.

Rayne nodded softly and slumped slightly in the chair. "Hmmm, it was amazing. Yours was pretty good to." She grinned and huffed quietly, rubbing her face. "That was so good. I'm not sure I can manage a pilates class, even though it's not until later. I'm stuffed." The woman had done her research before coming on the cruise, she was a well organised woman and already knew what she wanted to do.
