[Veins Of Opal]

Lucien gave a shrug. "You give me something to do. If you leave, I'll have to go back to my boring schedule." Lucien said nonchalantly, flicking his eyes to hers, putting on his tough expression once again. He may have looked menacing, were it not for the horse playing with his hair behind him. She turned around for a moment, swatting at Shadowmere, who snorted.

[Falls]

[Sorry I took so long. I was babysitting.]
Sigma's sad expression turned into a smirk and she spluttered as she tried not to laugh at Lucien and Shadowmere. She reached out to her side, helpfully pushing his hair to the side and running her fingers through the vague mess Shadowmere had caused as they walked. "Oh yeah? I'm sure the void would be easily be filled by a TV. Your fort needs a TV as it is."

Lucien rolled his eyes at her suggestion as she fixed his hair. "I suppose I'll get one, but Vicente may be the only one using it." he chuckled, giving a smirk and sending another glare at Shadowmere, who was practically walking into him. The ebony mare gave a defiant snort, flicking her tail.

Sigma chuckled as she dropped her hand, now a little closer to Lucien from having to reach to him like that. "You're not making any sense. You say you'll be bored without me, yet you still won't watch TV when I leave?" She dismissed Lucien's weirdness with a wave of her hand and looked back to the path. "So, let's say I did stay. Then what? I'm trapped underground in the fort all day and only come up at night. Heck, at this rate I'll turn into a vampire myself."

"You're not a prisoner anymore. Leave whenever you'd like, night or day." Lucien said simply as they approached the lakeside. The moon's light gleamed across the rippling surface of the dark, deep water, the stars shining brightly in the cloudless sky.

[Falls]

Sigma didn't have any clever remark ready for such a forward statement so she just stopped talking, her grey-blue eyes roaming over the lake as they approached. A dragon fly swept past their heads as they drew nearer, causing Sigma to flinch at the unexpected noise and draw closer to Lucien and Shadowmere.

Lucien glanced at Sigma as she moved closer to him as the buzzing insect flew over the water of the lake, higher into the sky. Shadowmere began wandering down the lakeside, though Lucien didn't need to go catch her. She'd come back to him whenever he needed her. His shoulder had grown rather numb, the air around the two comfortably cool. In his own opinion, that was.

Sigma's skin had goosebumps from the cool night air, but she didn't mind. She ran her fingers through her short dark hair and flicked her eyes over to Lucien, taking in his calm expression with puzzlement and a bit of awe. He seemed almost bipolar in his actions. But then again, when it came to Lucien, so was Sigma. One minute they'd be at each other's throats, and the next... this. This carefree, mellow walk. It was rather odd.

Lucien stepped forward, closer to the water. The water reflected off of his skin, giving him a beautiful glow. His whiskey-brown eyes were looking to the water, then flicked up, towards the sky. The only sound that there seemed to be was the soft "swish" of the lake and the rustling of the leaves behind them. It was just what Lucien needed. To be calm for once, and to enjoy peace.

Sigma watched Lucien for a moment before sitting down right where she stood, planting her butt there on the sandy soil and looking out towards the lake. She didn't feel like continuing on yet. She'd rather just sit and enjoy the scenery... both natural and human...
One word seemed to take dominance in the forefront of her mind as she rested there with the light breeze toying with the ends of her hair: Peace.
