Lexa put her head in her hands and breathed deeply, trying to slow her racing heart. She didn't hear him. The only thing she heard was her frantic heartbeats. Lexa eventually began to calm down, and then leaned back against the seat. "Sorry," she breathed out. "What was that?" A long lock of her hair dangled in her face but she didn't notice.

"To sum it up, I asked if everything was okay. Then I said that I grabbed you a blueberry muffin and hot chocolate, too.
The muffin is in the bag in the backseat along with mine, and your hot chocolate is the second one in the cup holder to your left."He focused on the road. "We're almost to school. Are you gonna be okay today? And I assume we're going to ignore each other like usual?"

Curtis nodded. "Okay. Just meet me here after school, and we'll grab a bite to eat and go home. I'll talk to my grandparents tonight and see if I can officially work things out. I'm sure they'll be fine with it. They're very understanding people." He pulled into his usual parking spot. "Well, see ya at three." He got out after she had gone. He grabbed his snacks and headed to class.

Lexa waited under a tree for Curtis to come. She assumed that he'd be driving them both to his house. She drew this: . She was so focused on her drawing that she didn't notice when Curtis approached her.

Curtis left class. Of course a few of his friends walked with him until the parking lot, then they scattered to their own cars. He approached Lexa, and looked down at what she was doing. "Woah, that's incredible." Curtis looked at the drawing and smiled. He was very impressed with her ability to draw. "Sorry if I spooked you, I couldn't help but compliment it."

Lexa did get startled, but she recovered quickly. She smiled a bit at him. "Thanks." She stood up and put it away. They went to his car and drove to his house.
When then got there, Lexa was worried. "Are your parents home?"

"Nah, they'll be home in 2 ish hours. Till then, I can give you a tour of my house I suppose." He lead her inside. Of course you've seen the hall with my room and bathroom. To the left of my room is their room. Our house doesn't have an upstairs, but it has an underground downstairs" He lead her down a flight of stairs to a living room, and to the left of it a kitchen. "Nothing too fancy.
And under the staircase is another bathroom." He looked around the room. "Uhm, nothing else down here. Are you hungry or thirsty or anything?"

"Alright." He walked over to the cubboard and grabbed himself a granola bar. "We can go back up to my room, if that makes you feel safer." Curtis added. He lead her back up the stairs and to his room. "I'm not a super exciting person, unfortunately. I do a lot of reading and sleeping when I'm home. Believe it or not, my friends don't really like going outside much. That's what you get when you hang with the tennis team. All super nerdy guys. What about you? I haven't seen you with people at school much. Do you have friends?"
