Hummer

Hummer nodded. Maybe he was right, maybe his owners were not all that they looked to be. She shook the thought from his mind immediately, of course they love me, why else would they feed and care for me every single day? Hummer replied, "I am glad you came. I am sure they wouldn't hurt you, they never hurt me." She saw that the sun was rising and added. "They should be coming soon, they usually get up around now."

Feather looked around. It would be a good idea to leave if she didn't want to be seen... but she had just gotten there.

Hummer

Hummer saw that Feather was very nervous. I want her to stay, but if she is scared then she should be able to leaveHummer thought. Hummer said, "Well this is it. Are you going to stay? If not, that window over there is open," she pointed to the window with her wing. "They should come out any minute now-" She heard the unmistakable sound of a creak, somebody was opening the door! She looked at Feather to see if she was going to stay.

Feather looked around, hearing the door open. She looked at Hummer sadly. "I'm sorry," she said quietly. "I really want to stay, but..." She flew out the window, landing in a tree outside. She watched Hummer sadly. I wish I could have stayed longer...

Hummer

Hummer watched as Feather flew away. She was sad that he hadn't stayed, but didn't exactly blame her for leaving. She wouldn't easily meet a human that she didn't know either. He chirped quickly after Feather, "See you later!" Hummer saw his owner come out and chirped. She said, "You are probably hungry huh? I will get you some bird seed." She walked into pantry and closed the door. Hummer looked out the window, looking to see if Feather had left the backyard or not.
