Her first job as the heir of the clan has become leading a group to the gatherings. Her father had avoided them for the past couple of moons due to the harsh rogue attacks. She felt honored, and a bit nervous, to be interacting with the deputies of other clans. Her father told her to go right up to the leader rock, however, she didn't feel as prestige as them. She wandered her way to the deputies, trying to put on her air of confidence. She didn't crack a smile, she kept a shadow of seriousness around her as she passed a few cats. She settled on a spot to relax and sit, eavesdropping on the surrounding conversations.

Redflame hadn't came to a gathering with Shoreclan since he joined. He had either been too busy or another healer took his place there. Despite being the third qualified medicine cat of the clan, there was always something to gather of a cat needing attention. It was almost a relaxing escape to come to this gathering, instead of worrying about the next attack on their cats.

Sugarbreeze shook her head. "I didn't want them to be attached to someone they would just end up missing all the time..." She took a breath, knowing there was no way to fix the situation. "There is a reason I brought Oysterpaw to meet you today... There are a lot of struggles in Shoreclan. Another apprentice recently was injured and crippled by the rogues attacking our clan." She could feel a tear coming out of her eye, trying to hold in her emotions. "I need Oysterpaw... To go with you to your clan... This is my last option to keep him safe. He has great potential to be a hunter in Shoreclan, but it can't work if everyone is too busy fighting of our attackers." She told him. Sugarbreeze knew that the two had grown apart, now she could feel the disdain and pain she had caused them.

the medicine cat didn’t want to go to the gathering, but was required to as she was the only medicine cat of snowclan, so no one else could go for her. she padded over slowly to her usual place, and here all the medicine cats usually hung out. she tried a smile and then glanced at a cat, saying, “hello.”

yewclaw listened to her with a lot of interest a clan in the mountains was something he had never heard of, and hunting at night seemed to be a hassle for him. "moonclan certainly sounds interesting, in pinewatch our camp is in something twolegs made a long time ago, of course its not as grand as a cave with a waterfall." he paused. "although there is a waterfall in the god's hollow which is a rather beautiful sight to see." he sort of looked away after mentioning the hollow as he remembered the events that took place there prior to him returning home to pinewatch.

Rookstar let out a quick chuckle, his thoughts drifting back to when he still lived in JaggedClan. “Considering that I was a proud founding member of ChessClan, I can heartily agree. I miss the days when there were only the seven of us,” he meowed gently, remembering the fateful day that the group from JaggedClan had formed a Clan with Aspstar and Horizonstar. Now, those two were gone and Chasmstar and he had taken their place. “ChessClan grew rapidly, many pregnant mothers in the area swarmed to us when they heard of a new Clan. I was only barely an apprentice when the Clan formed though,” he meowed. He couldn’t help but laugh as he remembered Juncoflight’s face when she first met Twilightpounce. “What about you? Were you in the Clan when it was founded?” he asked gently, thinking probably not since she mentioned only being a warrior.

“Barn?” Chasmstar asked, the word unfamiliar to her. She had spent nearly all of her life in ChessClan, so she assumed the word was linked to twolegs somehow. Her hatred for the naked creatures with grabby paws filled her body, and she let out a low hiss. They’d stolen Eclaircream from the Clan, and the hatred had grown ever since. She didn’t like creatures that took her clanmates, and she stared at Morningstar with a new disdain. If this molly’s Clan was affiliated with twolegs, then it only showed that newer Clans were as spineless as Chasmstar believed them to be.

Richterscreech let out a quiet cry of embarrassment before regaining his composure and turning to look at Swiftwind. “Do cats ever think they can get away with stuff just because you can’t see them? I know my Clan takes every opportunity to get into trouble,” he groaned, hoping Freuxfreckle had his paws full with the young Pions and Apprenti. He couldn’t even remember all the times he’d had to scold new Cavalier for sticking their noses where they didn’t belong. And don’t even get him started about fighting! Every single cat could find something to start a squabble about, and Richterscreech was just about tired of it. He couldn’t wait for Freuxfreckle to take his position as Tour soon.

Wolfwhiskers let out a sigh at the chance to ramble. “I’ve got one currently taking her final assessment. It takes a moon or two to complete, so she couldn’t make it this moon. As he remembered Tealeaf mentioning her apprentice needing the experience, he just sighed. “My own apprentice would not stop begging me to come to the Gathering, though she only became my apprentice after failing her warrior assessment,” he meowed slowly. Faonpaw had such strength, nearly dying before dedicating her life to healing others. He made a quick mental note to ask Tritonsnap if he planned to propose to Faonpaw when she returned.

I know Soleilstripes so enjoyed having one,” he chuckled sorrowfully, remembering how his brother would ramble on for hours about Hazelpaw, who sadly walked to ÉtoileClan by her mentor’s side. He had such great memories in his Clan, and he could only hope for many many more. “I’m beyond thankful to my Clan, even if I haven’t got to serve them yet to the best of my abilities,” he sighed. He wished he could have spent more tim with Soleilstripes before Quickcough, but what was past is past.

His mentor had even let him have two sunrises off to recuperate. Thoughts of Violindapple drug the corners of his mouth down, but he forced them back up into a vibrant smile.

"kits are okay, i guess," puddlepaw said. he didn't have an opinion on them, but he supposed he had been one once. "a medicine cat? is it hard working with herbs?" he had considered visiting the medicine cats to ask them to teach him a thing or two despite him being a warrior apprentice, but he didn't feel like it would be good opportunity to talk to them now since they got a new apprentice. he would ask mintpaw, though last time he checked on her she didn't know much about anything.

"i'm the green magician duckling, or," she tried to remember what her mother said about other clans having different names for their ranks, "the medicine cat apprentice! we do things with plants." she looked to daisypaw. "do you know a daisy, like your name, is a plant? i can't remember what we use it for, but it's very pretty. we only have one so far though. my name's also a plant!" she took a deep breath, realizing that she'd been talking too much. she looked to daisypaw to see her reaction.

someone blocked her line of vision, and for a moment she thought they would go away but they decided to sit there. she eventually decided to approach them, having nothing else to do. "hello," she called, giving a friendly wave of her tail. "mind if i join you?"

foxangel nervously peered into the gathering area, not sure what she was meant to do. she had been excited to return to her warrior duties but quickly found that she had forgotten a lot, and it had been ages since she had gone to a gathering. did duckstar want her to do anything in particular? she remembered that silentstar would always ask something of them to do at the gatherings.

they seemed so sweet together! coco wondered if she should feel awkward. "mostly feathers and plants like moss and leaves. sometimes when it's warmer, a few of us sleep outside on the grass together." the grass was usually sharp and pokey though, so she didn't like sleeping outside. "is it comfortable to sleep on sand and mud?" it seemed a little strange to her, but then again she used to be a kittypet and wouldn't know much about that, having slept in a soft bed her entire life. "wouldn't it be too hard and gravelly, or too soft and squishy?"

Sighing as she padded into the gathering which was yet another without her leader. Sitting more toward the edge of the group this time around. Not really realizing she was getting lost in her thoughts tell she heard a soft voice say hello to her. Shaking her head a little with wide eyes she looked at who it came from. "Why hello there sorry I was just thinking about some things. I'm Moonblossom the Deputy of Sloughclan." she said giving a slight nod as she introduced herself.

The small she-cat was shocked to hear that Crécerelleflight hadn't been given an apprenti yet by his leader. It baffled her a bit because to her he seemed like an obvious choice being as kind and caring as he is. Smiling softly at him as she gently nuzzled his shoulder in an affectionate way. "I can't see why they haven't, but I'm sure you will get one soon." she said to him really thinking it would be true. Not wanting Keylime to feel left out she nuzzled his shoulder in the same way she did to the other tom.

At that moment he knew what they were attempting to tell him. The white time stumbled a little as he began to attempt to process what he was just told. Tears began to weld up in his eyes as he collapsed to the ground. Covering his face with his paws attempting to quiet the wails that wanted so badly to leave his body. Shaking as he laid on the ground "No no no no no...." he softly began yelling in a quiet tone as he shook his head aggressively.

The smile that was upon the young warrior's face couldn't be hidden. Bounding into the gathering with her best friend by her side. The two of them giggled with each other. Grateful to have Sussurusbounce there with her as she struggled a tad to pass her assessment but she finally did just in time for the gathering. Though she was glad to be with her friend it didn't stop her eyes from wandering in hopes to find a familiar face. One she hasn't since for quite a few moons since her last gathering in which she still was an apprentice.

With a grin on her face, the young warrior bounded into the gathering with Parsleybound by her side. Glad to have her best friend with her as it was her first gathering after all. Though she was glad to be there as she was worried she may not be able to make it due to the assessment to become a warrior being a challenge for her. It loomed in her mind that maybe she wasn't fit for the role she was put into. Granted she loved being a warrior and it brought her a lot of joy, it just was very disheartening.

Lemongrass was half-listening to the two cats as they bantered back and forth. Something she had seen many of her clanmates do before. It caused a pang in her heart as she never really felt that closeness with another cat. Though she loved her clanmates she never really thought of herself as close with any of them. She snapped out of her thoughts as Fallowdust asked her a question "Well we live in a marshland which is surrounded by a dense forest. Learning to get thru the mud can be hard but overall it's a very soothing place to live. As far as I can tell I haven't been apart of it for many moons... I'm just grateful they took me in..." she said trailing off in a soft voice as she attempted to hide her insecurities.

Letting out a chuckle at the fellow leader's response of her introducing herself. Shaking her head a little "No my name is simply The Crowned Bluebell, Queen is simply my rank, and Viridian Court is the name of the clan I rule." she mused to Loudstar. Though she has learned thru gatherings that they weren't the only ones who had different naming systems compared to others. When asked the question she smiled "Well I always enjoy them. It's nice to meet new cats and hopefully form alliances with fellow clans." she said. That was always her goal so far at gatherings to hopefully form an alliance with another clan. As it would be helpful to form great bonds with other clans. Something she always believed but the Kings and Queens before her never believed to be true. They believed that their strength came from staying isolated from the clans. When Bluebellcrown was chosen she immediately change that mindset. "How about you?" she asked wondering how the fellow cat felt about gatherings themselves.

A small smile came across his face as he heard the cat's name that was in front of him. Before his face went back to its usual stoic features that he was known well for in his clan. Granted with the birth of his kits it has been hard to hope back his joy. Proud that Baywatcher and he had become fathers thanks to a kind she-cat. "It's refreshing to meet someone that also is from a court rather than a clan honestly." he said in a semi-sarcastic tone. Attempting to make a joke that clearly wasn't one so it failed, but to him, he thought he did well. Foxtrot couldn't help but to grin as the tom accepted the invitation, nudging Stoneburr closer the two elder cats seated themselves side by side, pelts brushing as they settled by their new companion's side. "Your name... where abouts do you come from"? Stoneburr's gruff voice sounded from the quiet between the trio, dark eyes curious to know more of the younger's home.

Quailjaw tipped his head as if thoughtful, leaning closer once more with another laugh bubbling beneath his white chest. ”Well, I must tell you about this one fish!” The warrior pulled back to grin playfully, but his eyes became hooded in the memory of the latest foes he had in fact battled; his clan-mates, friends he’d grown up with turned against one another, the lives that had been taken. Quailjaw released a small huff as if to release the memory from mind, ”No but seriously, I’m not sure if you’ve encountered fish from the streams of the mountains, but they’re mighty!”

The molly brightened as the grey soldier shared news of his home, always curious to learn more of the world outside their mountain home. Coypond's head tipped slightly to the side in her moment of confusion upon learning their camp had been created by the two-legged creatures, in all honesty the younger had likely never seen one before as they seemed a rarity up in the mountains. A look of delight passed over the calico's face at the compliment, happy to know her home was thought of as something "grand", at least there was another who shared the same thoughts as she. "Oh, god's hollow? is that the place your healers go to in order to contact the lost"?

The older to-be couldn't help but to widen her eyes at the clan's name and her new companion's title, a "duckling", she didn't very much resemble a duckling. Oh. Daisypaw could eventually come to the realisation their "duckling" quite possibly meant the same as a "to-be" in Moonclan; a youngster in training. She found she quite liked the name. Again, the molly found herself amused as she watched the younger continue to talk, a small laugh sounding as her gaze softened. Perhaps she quite liked her company too. "Yeah, I was also named for the plant. My mother quite likes them. Unfortunately, I'm not quite as cool as you are, studying to be a healer, I'm a warrior to-be ... ah, a warrior duckling".

Wrenpaw released a relieved breath as he realised the tom hadn't been injured by his clumsiness, thank goodness for that, what a first impression he had made. The younger's eyes widened slightly as the large tom turned to explain the action of ... winding? another feline. He couldn't help the look of mild confusion passing over his face as he studied the tom, before a small almost embarrassed smile appeared on his soft features. "Ah, I'm almost a full hunter now, I don't quite understand the fighting techniques, I'm sorry". Wrenpaw could feel his pelt begin to warm in his awkwardness as he shifted on still slightly unsteady paws before the warrior.

Oh, the glories of joining those new groups that seemed to keep popping up from nowhere. If not for her brother, she would've gone off to live on her own, perhaps claim her own territory where she could teach others to heal in theory only. "Are you sure that you're not wiser than I?" Langsat asked, the slightest bit of amusement laced into her frank tone. "With age comes wisdom, they tend to say." Though she knew better than most that sayings meant nothing at the worse of times. A frown ghosted Langsat's maw. She had no mate, no one to look out for her. She would like to think that she didn't need it, but at the same time... her brother was busy with his kittens. The kittens that she very nearly failed to save. When things went wrong, she locked herself up; she crushed her emotions and went back to thinking of her duty only. Duty first, personal matters later, even if it would break the bonds she tried so hard to build... oh, the troubles of being a healer. Of any politician really, but especially when she held the power over life and death. "I do," Langsat muttered, "agree, that is. My apprentice... is overdue for his promotion, I think. I've been holding him back, and he knows it; he doesn't question it. He knows far more than the average seeker, but he's never demanded that I up his rank, even though I can see the impatience in his eyes at times. He's a good healer as is; I don't doubt that the clan will flourish under his guidance."

It was nice to know that not everyone interested in herbalism assumed that it was easy. That's not saying that it was necessarily hard. Anycat could learn to heal; it just took time and a good bit of practice. Though, if they were lucky, they were practicing in theory and not on actual, dying felines. "It's not as difficult as you'd think," Ignitionpaw shared, "but it's not easy, either. Dealing with herbs is the simple part -- all it takes is a bit of memorization. The harder bit is dealing with patients; knowing what to say when everyone's panicking, identifying what went wrong exactly... that sort of thing." Ah, this conversation was becoming too serious for his tastes. Time to spice it up. "So," the seeker inquired, a grin blooming on his maw, "what's the best thing you've ever tasted? I've bitten a mango once, and they're glorious if I say so myself."

"The fish living in the Cascade are tiny and pathetic -- a kitten wouldn't have much difficulty fishing them up! Though, unlike my clanmates, I've explored the cove." The skullhunter leaned towards Quailjaw, whispering to him as if it were some old secret: "Have you ever seen a river dolphin, great warrior? They're like fish, but much, much larger... the size of a log, at least, and they can shoot torrents of water out of holes in their heads." She pulled away, chuckling softly to herself as she watched for his reaction.

"That does help," Astylumpaw said, somewhat surprised that it had. Speaking to an unfamiliar high rank intimidated him greatly though he supposed that it could be worse. For one, if Ratnose turned out to be just as rude as his name might've implied. The torrent couldn't judge from names, however, or else he shouldn't have survived past kittenhood. Ah... "My mentor is here," he confirmed, "and so is my mother." Oh, Storm, Shoreabranch would be mortified if she learned about this. Her kit getting lost? Unbelievable. Aulandrapaw probably wasn't having this much trouble. "I was following Aldernight. He's the Storm's Tempest -- er, the deputy. I think Arilwrath is here, too?" Argh, both of them were jerks; he should've chosen someone like Ignitionpaw to chase after instead. Just saying their names had calmed his nerves a bit. Once the Gathering ended, one of his clanmates would probably come looking for him. With that in mind, Astylumpaw decided, "Is it alright if I just stay here with you?" He sure hoped so.

Snowballpaw made snow sound so cool! Too bad she'd probably never experience it in her lifetime. "That's like the opposite of the climate around the Cascade!" Aulandrapaw noted. "It's always warm, even during leafbare! I think some of the older warriors have mentioned snow once or twice, but I don't know where they saw it at." Something about altitude or something deep in the Wildcries, but only five cats in their entire clan were permitted to travel there. Like a secret meeting place for only the best, most fearless felines.
