I smiled at him, nodding. "I'd love to." I felt a sudden surge of kindness towards this wonderful male. Why had I looked past him to see Aspen? It had been useless, and I knew it had hurt him. Stupid me.

Gats saw concern in Insomnia's eyes. As if she were thinking too hard about something. He didnt want to change her mind about going for a walk though. For a few moments, he kept to himself and just started walking happily in front of the fae, pretending he didnt notice her feelings. "Insomnia." He started. "Do you remember anything yet?" he felt he should ask. He didnt want her remembering Aspen. He didnt want her to know about her past feelings. "Is it all coming back to you at all?"

[zima.]

I grimaced. "Slowly. I...." I paused for a moment befor continuing on at last. "I remember treating you badly, I remember wanting someone who would never want me back." I was careful not to say it was Aspen; I somehow knew that would ruin things. "But I suppose it doesn't matter. Maybe I was made to forget so I could start over. Make the right choice." I gazed into his eyes, hopeful.

Gats stared at his paws while he walked. It was kinda not what he hoped to hear, but it wasnt the worst, he thought. "Maybe. Maybe your life got mixed up too much before we met. In the lab, you know?" He stared, reassuring Insomnia and hopefully himself. "You wanted help. Someone to finally make you feel better. Aspen is the alpha." He looked at her eyes. "You couldnt get more protection than that. Love is weird."
He felt a little better now. He tried to make it seem as if her love for Aspen was an illusion. Like she just wanted comfort from a powerful being. However, after he had told her this, he was lost. He didnt know what to tell her after that.

I nodded. "I don't know the full extent of any of my feelings yet, but I believe I know enough to see that I was lying to myself. I didn't love him." I shuffled my paws a bit, looking down. "We have nothing in common. Besides," I told him gently, "Aspen would only try to control me. I'm not easily controlled." I said the last word with a snarl, my lips curling a bit. And as soon as I said it, I knew it was true. I was not to be controlled; I was too strong for that.

Gats watched the girl and knew it was his chance to show her what she really lived for. "Insomnia... youre right. I never thought of it that way." He walked closer to her and touched his nose to hers. "You cant be controlled. I know you cant. Youre too good for him! Too good for a mean old brute." He didnt really know what he was saying, but it felt right. "Insomnia..."

She smiled at him. "You always know exactly what to say, Gats!" Then she saw the look on his face. "What?"

Corall was finally back at camp. She feelt exsaucted, her legs shakeing. She padded over to Aspen's den and walked in. She could feel that Aspen and Vivir was there but she where to dizzy to see them. She simp ly laied down and dragged of the wet bandage from her head that Vivir once so kindly helped her with.
She shaked her furr and slowly fell asleep in the males comforting presence.

(( I think it was Vivir or maybe Magnum who helped her? My memory. >_< Well I've just read the whole RP to remember what happend... ))

Aspens glance slowly moved to the corner where Corall had laid. He could hear her gradually slip to sleep as her breathing slowed to a quiet hum. She seemed exhausted, and the old man wasn't really going to interfere, or interrupt her sleep. He would hope everyone would do the same for him. Aspen looked back at Vivir with a indistinguishable look. He was beginning to focus once more on his train of thought, but by now, it was lost. Curse his older age. If he was just a few years younger.....man. He would be something. Aspen sighed heavily, "we'll talk later." He said, with a respectful nod, before padding into the back of his den making sure to keep a respectful distance from Corall before curling up. He didn't go to sleep, merely sat there in silence thinking, and admiring the beautiful stranger who laid naught ten feet from him.

Maybe it just wasn't meant to be...
Insomnia couldn't help the sting she still felt every time she thought of how Aspen rejected her. And for a stranger, too! Maybe, after her talk with Gats, Insomnia would speak with this stranger. If she was kind and deserving, then insomnia would make friends with her, be there for for. If not...well, Insomnia knew how to take care of a problem.
