he sleeps soundly while hollypaw organizes the herbs.

"my name is bramblekit" the kit replies. the trio keeps their distance, somewhat afraid of the silvery cat. the 2 others are too shy to speak. "who's the deputy?' bramblekit squeaks. "the elders said that after a cat becomes chief, they need to pick a deputy before moonhigh." the kit says.

The silver cat lays on his belly, so as to not scare the kits, "well, it is nice to meet you, Bramblekit." Is meowed gently, tones warm and inviting. "I was hoping you could help me with that," is said invitingly, "who do you think should be my deputy? I was thinking your old leader. But what do you think?" Is asked seriously.

bramblekit gleams with pride. he feels grown-up. do you mean cloudstar?" asks the small kit. "cloudstar is nice. but the elders say that he is too weak. but that's not true, because I saw him fight once. he was very strong and he won." in the purple dusk light, the kit thinks good and hard before he comes to an answer. "I think that cloudstar should be deputy."
(note: bramblekit calls cloudlight "cloudstar" because he was leader before bramblekit was born, so he does not know his warrior name.)

hollypaw finishes cleaning the entrance, rebuilding the nests, and sorting the herbs 3 different ways as an attempt to keep herself busy. she treats a kit's splinter and a cracked pawpad and sits down. she sighs and allows herself to rest for a bit. she looks at dawnstripe. "should she wake him?" she thinks. "no, he needs to rest. already has been a long day." then, the hears shifting in one of the nests. carefully she walks over. cloudlight was awake. this time, the medication numbed the pain quite a bit, allowing the cat to move a bit. she sits by the cat, both sharing a peaceful silence.

He hums softly; thinking. "I think you are correct BrambleKit." Is answered at last, "CloudStar... would make a wonderful deputy." It's getting dark, "thank you for your advice. "

He's laying half on his side, watching the clan, mostly relaxed.

the kit hops away with the others. soon, 2 brown striped cats step into the clearing. they give a bow, and step towards their leader. "the traitors have awoken" one speaks. "the others are waiting in the leaders den". "the cats are not hostile, possibly because they are too weak to fight" the other one chimes in.

hollypaw offers cloudlight a mouse, of which he doesn't touch. soon he falls back asleep. hollypaw looks at dawnstripe's wounds. although minor, she disinfects them, just in case. finally, she gave in to her exhaustion and went to sleep on a nest.

He doesn't think of himself as a leader to a clan of cats he doesn't really know; but this is why he's here. Isn't it? To save the lost clan. FallenRains stands from where he'd been conversing with the kits, warmth in his blue eyes as he watches them leave. He flicks his ears as he turns to watch the clan cats - a pang in his heart at their relationships, how... how close they are together. But he's interrupted by two brown striped tabby cats and the warmth disapates. Is this who he is now? Who he has to be.

"Thank you. " Is responded, "I apologize that I was so abrupt and grumpy with you earlier. Both of you. Before we go to see the traitors.... what can you tell me about them, please? Are they typically trustworthy? " a pause, "and what are your names?"

"I am squirrelthorn, and she is ivyfang" replied the slightly taller cat. one look at both of them and it would be obvious that they were siblings. "well, ravensong nearly killed leafspot and left him to die. not too sure why he hasn't been banished. frostfleet on the other hand..." squirrelthorn trails off. "I just don't get it! frost is a good cat. he just got his warrior name, and he was a promising apprentice. what would drive him to do such a thing?" ivyfang exclaims. the dusk light dims further. "we should go back. there has been an issue with badgers entering the outskirts of camp".

hollypaw and dawnstripe sleep soundly.

"Its nice to meet you." Is responded,
"both of you. " he then is listening.

FallenStar flicks one ear, pins it a long second as he listens longer. He frowns at the news. "Thank you for letting me know," is said with warmth, then, the silvery cat starts to follow the pair back to the center of camp. "Tomorrow we will work on fortifying the camp walls, we will make this place safer."

They're inside the den now, and he allows his eyes to adjust - thunder clashes in the distance, and he knows the storm will re start soon. "Traitors." Is greeted in a much colder tone: "You have a chance now, just one. " the blue in his eyes flees, leaving a gray expanse of cruelty. "Why did you join the fight? What did you stand to gain?"

the 2 cats look up at the chief, his cold glare penetrating. the burly grey tom stares back, hatred in his eyes. the snow-white young cat trembles, paralyzed with fear. "tell him what really happened, and I kill you" ravensong hisses quietly at the younger cat. "well, frostfleet here wanted to help with the fighting, an' I was merely trying to protect him from gettin' hurt" ravensong drawled. frostfleet looked down at the rocky ground of the den, tears in his eyes.

He listens, calculates and assesses. "Liar. " Is said, blue eyes filled with anger, "separate FrostFleet." Is ordered as two of the warriors step forward to obey, they herd the white cat out, back into the clearing.

FallenStar never stops looking at the cat called RavenSong. "Tell me the truth."
