petalfall smiled. at least he's talking to me, she thought. "i had an okay sleep but i did have a small nightmare," she said to kestrelflight with a smile then asked, "how about you?" she notice that he was eyeing the squirrel. "oh and you can have the first bite," she said happily.

bluemoon nodded. "well that's all i wanted to tell you two, aspentail, if you could i would like you to talk to sweetpaw while you are training," she said then dipped her head to the two and walked away.

mapleclaw looked around for otterpaw and found her talking to lichenflower. "time to go train, otterpaw," she said.

runningtail was pacing around, just thinking. he had notice that clan was very low on apprentice and they had no kit or expecting queens, nor where their any mates in the clan. he walked over to lichenflower. "hi," he said with a smile.

Kestrelflight nodded. "Ug. I hate having nightmares. What about?" His eyes brightened and he happily took the first bite. After he'd swallowed he replied, "It was fine." The tom didn't really want to explain how odd his dream had been.

"Of course," Aspentail replied, padding towards the apprentice den. He would talk to Sweetpaw after they'd trained a bit. "Sweetpaw! Wake up, we're going hunting!" He called into the apprentices den.

"Okay!" Otterpaw told Mapleclaw, glancing back towards Lichenflower. "Bye! See you later!"

Lichenflower watched Otterpaw dash up to Mapleclaw and looked at Runningtail. "Hi," She greeted.

petalfall smiled. "nothing to crazy, it was pretty much just about a sickness," she said. "well that good that you slept well," she said with a smile then took a bit of the squirrel.

sweetpaw had been in a deep sleep until aspentail woke her. "ahh!" she said, jumping up as he startled her. "oh okay," he said.

mapleclaw flicked her tail to say by to lichenflower and then dashed into the forest.

"so how are you?" runningtail asked lichenflower as he watched otterpaw and mapleclaw dash off.

Kestrelflight nodded. "Oh." He took a few more bites of the squrriel, savoring the taste.

Aspentail flicked his tail impatiently, his stern gaze silently urging the apprentice to hurry. When she was up, he turned and padded out of camp.

Otterpaw followed her mentor, eyes flickering brightly around the forest. "What are we going to do today?" She asked. The pain from the cut Blood had given her still stung but Otterpaw had groomed her fur over the cut to try to hide it. She didn't want anyone asking questions about it.

"I'm good, what about you?" Lichenflower replied. The tortoishell female sat down, wrapping her fluffy tail comfortably over her paws.

petalfall smiled. "i'm glad you like the squirrel," she said with a smile then took another bite.

sweetpaw watched her mentor pad out of camp. she quickly jumped up and padded after aspentail.

"did blood hurt you last night?" mapleclaw asked, not answering her question until otterpaw answered her.

"i'm okay," runningtail said with a smile. "so what do you think the clan will do now that there are only two apprentice, no expecting queens, or kits?" he asked.

Kestrelflight nodded. "It was caught yesterday so it's cold but it's still good." He replied.

Aspentail led her deeper into the forest before stopping. "No cat's hunted here in a while so there should be plenty of prey." He told her. "Can you scent any?"

Otterpaw frowned, glancing at her. The tabby apprentice worried Mapleclaw wouldn't let her train and would make her go see Bluemoon if she said yes. "No." Otterpaw replied.

Lichenflower blinked thoughtfully. "I'm not quite sure. If we must, perhaps Skystar would allow a loner or two to join. But it can't be long until we have some kits. Skystar and Kestrelflight seem to like each other. Maybe they'll be expecting some kits soon."

petalfall smiled and nodded. "maybe we could go hunting and catch some warm prey soon," she suggested happily.

sweetpaw stopped with her mentor and opened her mouth, searching for any scent at all. "i think i smell a water vole and a squirrel but the vole is a bit stale," she said.

mapleclaw flicked her tail. "don't try to hide it from me, otterpaw, bone gave me a bit of a bad night last night too," she said. "and i won't make you stop training, wounds can't stop you from becoming a warrior."

runningtail nodded. he was a bit hurt. what did she think of him, any more then a friend? "yes, maybe," he said with a smile.

Kestrelflight nodded. "Sure, why not?" He replied.

Aspentail nodded approvingly. "Good." He looked around, his gaze falling lightly on the squrriel. He lowered his voice, speaking softly so that he wouldn't scare off the squrriel. "Ok, I want you to catch it."

Your night wasn't as bad as mine. The tabby thought. Otterpaw hesitated before replying, "He only gave me a cut. It's not a bad one." Her eyes darkened, thinking about the night. It had been awful.

Lichenflower studied him curiously. Was it just her or did she see a tiny flash of hurt in his eyes? The tortoishell wondered what he'd wanted her to say. "What do you think the clan'll do about it?" She prompted.

petalfall smiled and helped kestrelflight finish up the plump squirrel. she then jumped to her feet. "alright, let's go hunting by the crowfood path!" she said.

sweetpaw nodded, not talking so she wouldn't startle any prey. her eyes locked on the unobservant squirrel and she dropped into a hunter's crouch. she stalked over to the animal that would soon become freshkill then leapt onto it, quietly breaking it's neck.

"what happened, otterpaw? i doubt mine was worst then yours if you are acting like this," mapleclaw demanded, wanting some answers to the who thing.

runningtail looked at his paws an flicked his tail. "well i think she would do the same as you said," he shrugged.

Kestrelflight swallowed the last bite and nodded. He stood up and followed Petalfall out of camp.

Aspentail watched, his eyes glinting with approval. "Good catch Sweetpaw."

"He wanted me to kill a cat." Otterpaw replied after a moment's hesitation. "I couldn't do it so he had Wrenpaw pin me down and he killed the cat right infront of me." Her voice shook with horrow and grief.

Lichenflower nodded, her ears twitching slightly. "Oh. So what do you want to do today?" She asked.
