Dejoin padded the smooth rock flooring, and was delighted to see such a cozy little place. The strings of the grass bed looked appealing, as he breathed the fresh scent in.
"Its such a nice getaway..."
Dejoin said aloud, as the thoughts of the previous event now washed away from his active mind.

"Thank you," Avis replied. "It took a while to find it, and longer to make it capable of living in. The humans can't seem to find it, so it's a good place to hide from them. It seems I'm running from them my whole life," she sighed. Changing the subject, she asked "Where on the island do you live?"

Dejoin took a moment before replying, as if he was trying to think.
"The beach,"
He finally said,
"The other end of the island.."
It was still a stir to the male that he actually found another being.
Here I was thinking I was the only one in existence...
Dejoin chuckled to himself, as he awaited for Avis to reply, though he didn't give much, he hope to hear her talk back.

Avis stretched, paws extended in front of her. "I'm hungry; want to hunt?" she asked. She hoped he would accept-she had never hunted with someone else. Just herself. I could go for a deer, she thought. She looked at him, and waited for his response.

Dejoin set off quickly with a straight answer,
"Yes! I'm starved!"
Pausing for a moment as he savored the thought of red juicy meat sinking between his jaws, practically dying of hunger at the image.
"Have an idea where we could spot a good meal?"
Dejoin asked softly, sending his nose up for a scent to track.

"Yes," Avis replied. "There's a clearing near hear where the deer herds gather sometimes-let's try there." She led Dejoin through the forest, walking for about fifteen minutes before they got there. We're in luck; the deer are here today she thought. "There's one near the back, kind of separate from the rest," she whispered, pointing to one. "I think its leg is hurt. Let's go for that one."

Avis walked casually out where the deer were standing. She ran at them suddenly, startling them, and went for the hurt one. It still lagged behind the others, and it would be an easy target.

Dejoin took up in a run as he followed Avis is the hunt. He made it up to the side of the injured deer, blocking off its way of escape as he ran beside it.
