Averill laid his single hare down to speak. "Alright," he replied, nodding. "This should be enough to keep the pack going. We should become hunters, huh, Accalia?" He nudged at the fae playfully, prancing around with his catch. He had been relieved to see that his fellow hunter had caught just one hare as well, not because he would've been jealous, but every wolf had his pride. He hurried to catch up to Randir, who was making a beeline straight for where the pack was resting.

Kris ears flicked slightly as he started to wake at the sound of quiet conversation. He had always been a light sleeper, an in-built defensive response for him. Raising his head, he spotted the alpha speaking to Lyall. Standing and stretching, the black-furred brute walked over to the two wolves, keeping his posture and head low. "We're not leaving yet? I'm all rested." His voice was a drawl bordering insolent, although not quite enough to be punished for. His golden eyes were darkly amused as they studied the rocks at his paws.

Kyiera
{ alpha } { fae } { 4 years } { the calm }
Upon hearing the paws of the returning hunting party, Kyiera jumped down from the ledge to greet them. "Now the only thing we don't have is a water source," she said aloud, mostly to herself. Sighing, she quietly accepted the hare that Randir placed in front of her before calling Lyall and offering to share it with him - screw formalities for now.
Randir
{ hunter } { brute } { 5.5 years } { the cautious }
Randir meekly laid down a hare in front of their alpha before trotting over to where Mirri was. He wasn't sure if he wanted to wake her up or not, since she looked pretty peaceful while she slept.
Chaser
{ fighter } { brute } { 8 years } { the sarcastic }
At the scent of blood, Chaser's eyes shot open again and he held in the urge to groan. All he wanted was a decent sleep, but since there had been too many distractions, he gave up and shook himself up, careful not to awaken the sleeping beta. "Not bad for your first trip," he said to Averill, noting the hare between the pup's teeth.

Ruelle shifted awake blearily, feeling like she'd closed her eyes only moments ago. "They're back?" she muttered, noting the arrival of the hunting group. She watched as Averill gave one of the hares to Chaser, her mouth watering. "Mind sharing?" she asked, sitting up and stretching with a huge yawn. She hoped they'd be able to find water by morning, or there would be trouble.

Averill offered his catch to Chaser proudly before joining Randir, who was staring down at Mirri as if uncertain whether or not to wake her. He barked out a laugh. "Just do this!" he announced, grabbing his sister's tail in his mouth lightly and shaking it around. She rolled over, snapping at him, although her expression was resigned. She had had too much experience with this to bother asking Averill to stop. "Come on, there's food!" Averill nodded over to the hares lying on the ground.

Kris shook his pelt out, slightly annoyed at being ignored. There was food available, though, so he wasn't too bothered. Crawling closer to the eating wolves, he eyed them suspiciously, hoping there'd be enough left over for him. He positioned himself near Accalia, who seemed to be eating alone and was the most likely to offer him leftovers.

Kyiera
{ alpha } { fae } { 4 years } { the calm }
Suddenly remembering that they had an omega - and even though she said that she was going to ignore pack ranking right now - something never really felt right around Kris, and she was really jumpy around him for that reason. However, as pack leader, she had to make sure everywolf got food. Sighing, she got up to make her way over to him when she saw that Accalia was eating alone and that Kris had position himself next to her. 'Well, Accalia's a fighter - she can handle herself,' she reasoned before looking at the sky. If she wasn't mistaken, the sun was going to rise in about an hour or so, so they had to start moving as soon as everyone was full.
Randir
{ hunter } { brute } { 5.5 years } { the cautious }
Randir grinned - which was hard to do with a hare still in his jaws - before placing the kill in front of Mirri. He actually found the sibling interaction between Averill and Mirri to be quite funny - they were both strong wolves, but half the time, one of them would act like a pup while the other just ignored them to a certain degree. "You did good for your first hunt," he suddenly said, complimenting Averill.
Chaser
{ fighter } { brute } { 8 years } { the sarcastic }
Chase was just about to take the first bite but stopped when he heard Ruelle's voice. He didn't answer her question, but merely shifted the hare so that majority of it was near her - it was his way of saying that she could have his share as well. She was beta after all, and beta's were more important than mere fighters.

Ruelle sat down on the opposite side of the hare, nodding to Chaser. "Don't eat less on account of me," she warned shrewdly. "We've all got to look out for each other now." She bent to take a bite, savouring the soft meat in her mouth. It was going to be hot and uncomfortable travelling in the day later, and she wasn't looking forward to it.

Averill preened, delighted at being complimented by a hunter. "Only 'cos you taught me well," he replied brightly. Mirri only snorted at him and turned to face Randir, her expression wry. "Don't feed his ego anymore, he's bad enough as he is," she said dryly. "And thanks for the prey." Her comment slid right off Averill's back and he settled down to eat, his excitement undiminished.

After a while of waiting, Accalia finally seemed to notice him. With an unreadable look in her eye, she tore of the back haunch of the hare and nosed it to him with a curt, "Here." Nodding gratefully, Kris fell on the meat with gusto, gripping it between his front paws firmly. He wouldn't usually have showed such enthusiasm about anything, but food did wonders to any wolf. He finished the scrap soon enough and sat up, licking his chops hungrily.

Randir

"Didn't you just eat?" Randir said, referring to Averill. "I caught you a hare and you devoured the whole thing, you glutton!" The hunter brute rarely got into his 'fun' mood, but when he did, he'd usually tease his target to no end. "Averill's gonna get fat and then he won't be able to run after his kill because he can't move," he joked as he tensed and got ready to run.
Chaser
{ fighter } { brute } { 8 years } { the sarcastic }
Chaser was astounded, not for the first time, by the way their alpha and beta worked - they were so humble, and so young, that it was hard to imagine them as the strongest wolves in the pack. Without another word, he bit the hare and chewed, countless thoughts running through his mind.
((I went a bit insane on Randir. SORRY. XD And the KrisXAccalia thing? DO IT. I DARE YOU. 8D))

Finishing up her half of the hare, Ruelle made her way over to Kyiera. She nodded politely to Lyall before addressing the alpha. "Shall we move off? Hopefully we can find a new home soon enough," she sighed, looking around as if hoping to see a suitable place appear out of nowhere.

"But..." Averill whined, not really having a good argument to that. "Randir! Me fat?" His expression was comically appalled, and he batted half-heartedly at the older wolf while trying to sneak another nibble of the hare. "Alright, I'm done!" he pronounced loftily. "You two can have all the rest and get fat!" With that, he backpedalled out of Randir and Mirri's reach, his tail wagging playfully.

Kris watched Accalia finish the rest of the hare, feeling rather mournful. He wasn't too disappointed though; at least he'd gotten a whole haunch to himself. When the fae walked off to join the others, he trailed her moodily, not really knowing what else to do. He eyed Averill disdainfully; just a year younger than him but still behaving like an insane pup.

Kyiera
{ alpha } { fae } { 4 years } { the calm }
Kyiera averted her gaze when she heard her beta address her. "Sure - just let the others finish their meal," she said before glancing at her pack. Hopefully, the food would be enough to keep them going til just after dawn - they had to find water first, because where there was water, there was prey - and not just small prey: deer were bound to be nearby.
Randir
{ hunter } { brute } { 5.5 years } { the cautious }
Randir barked a laugh before tearing off one of the hare's hindlegs. "We're not fat - Mirri and I are the fittest wolves here!" he told Averill, his tail starting to wag. "Right, Mirri?" He looked at the fae for support - if she was on his side, then he'd chase Averill down for the 'fat' remark.
Chaser
{ fighter } { brute } { 8 years } { the sarcastic }
Once the hare was polished off, Chaser got up and stretched before heading over to the two leaders. "Averill, Randir - stop behaving like pups so we can get going," he barked at the two younger wolves, his eyes glinting evilly in the moonlight.

Ruelle nodded, sitting down to wait for the pack to be ready. "Where do you think we should go? The mountains? I hope we don't run into another wolf pack," she said quietly to Kyiera, not wanting to worry the other wolves.

Before Mirri could give her reply, Chaser cut in. Averill lowered his head with a whine, his tail immediately stilling. "Sorry Chaser," he muttered, going to sit quietly beside Mirri, who was still eating. Chaser could be rather scary when his patience wore thin.

Kris shifted uneasily, watching as Chaser walked past. He didn't like the old wolf, never had and never did. He thought he had a right to order other wolves around just because of his age. His lip curled slightly, but be was careful not to be seen.

Kyiera
{ alpha } { fae } { 4 years } { the calm }
Kyiera shook her head. "I am not so certain that the mountains will be safe, but here, we run the risk of meeting bigger packs," she commented, keeping her voice low as well. It was really a tough decision - they were a small pack (just nine wolves) - and if they ran into a pack that had bigger numbers, then there was a chance that they would lose. She wanted to keep her pack as safe as possible, and the mountains seemed like a good place to do that - but food there was scarce, and it would require fast adaptation just so that none of them got hurt in the new terrain. "We should stick to the plains for now - if we find danger, then we head towards the mountains," she finally said, hoping that she made the right decision.
Randir
{ hunter } { brute } { 5.5 years } { the cautious }
Randir watched, wide-eyed, as Chaser tore them down - in a not so gentle way. He allowed a soft whine to escape him as his tail automatically fled between his hind legs. He flinched as the older brute passed before finally collapsing in relief. "I thought he was going to eat me," he admitted, making sure to keep his voice soft enough that the brute wouldn't hear him.
Chaser
{ fighter } { brute } { 8 years } { the sarcastic }
Chaser ignored the three pups for now and headed to the alpha and the beta. He wanted to be at the front of the pack this time - not lagging at the back and feeling danger snapping at his tail.
