"You should perhaps sleep. And eat. have you eaten? But if there is anything I can help with, please let me know. And message Lazarus. I'll tell him you're all right, but I suspect he will want to hear from you, too."

Three went back to their datapad, sending Lazarus a further message,
"Lazarus,
Lucas is unhurt. He is, however, sleep-deprived and rambling. I asked him to message you.
Three."

[grey matter]

"Yes, yes, I'm going to eat and shower and all that whatnot. And... as much of an idiot as I have been, I owe him an apology. But there is something we need to talk about later... but I should probably attend to fleshbody things. Maybe we'll talk after a nap- actually... no, it's going to mess up my sleep schedule even more. I'll sleep eventually." Lucas swapped tabs to the long list of emails that had mostly come from Lazarus saying variants of "AREYOUOKAY" and whatnot... and it actually hurt to see them. Quite a lot, actually. Tired Lucas did not know how to rationalize that this would hurt later, appearantly. He typed up a brief email to Lazarus.

"Lazarus,
I'm alive. I hyperfocused and did stupids for personal reasons. Sorry I made you worry. I'll try not to pull another stupid like that but no promises considering I might have a eureka moment and not sleep for multiple days in a row due to raw inspiration. And don't try to tell me you don't do stuff like this to. You're just more punctual about replying to people when you're like that. And maybe you actually eat during that. I should probably just tone down the stupid to sleep deprivation.
Lucas"

"Well, now that-" Lazarus's computer bipped again. "Already?"

Lazarus had sent a reply.

"LUCAS,
DO NOT DO THIS TO ME AGAIN
I THOUGHT YOU WERE LIKE
EATING POISON OR SOMETHING DUMBER THAN THIS
DO NOT WORRY ME LIKE THAT AGAIN PLEASE AND THANK YOU.
- LAZARUS"

"...I think he's written me a poem in the format of an email. About me being dumb. Great."

"Well. You do seem to have been being very dumb. DarkBoard can also provide you with energy-decreasing shots too, if you wish. I've taken them several times when I've had trouble sleeping. They're very helpful."

[grey matter]

"Those are a thing too? Oh. Oh wow, I really should've... huh. Well. I guess I get to fix my sleep schedule tonight. Hooray... Well. I guess I should... get to relative normalcy. I'm gonna... eat. Or... something." Lucas said, feeling immense regret in general. Now he had a bunch of plant projects he had lost his train of thought in, a person to convince to kill another person, and someone who was very panicked by his dumb mode. "...I have no idea how I managed not to eat this entire time."

[the-nug-king]

"Things can be distracting sometime. DarkBoard, could you give Lucas a food bar, please?"A food bar slid out, which Three handed over. "I'm sure you'll have food or your own, but after so long without eating, this will help more right now." They turned back to DarkBoard. "And you could have told me what he was doing." DarkBoard remained silent.

[grey matter]

Lucas attempted to pace himself through eating the bar but mostly just scarfed it down. "I really should've eaten earlier. Or had water on hand. Or gotten up to stretch. Or a general multitude of things, really." He adjusted his glasses. "...I really hope this doesn't end up killing me someday."

[the-nug-king]

"I can probably ensure you don't die. Is there anything else you need right now?"

[grey matter]

"Well, some water, but otherwise, I think I'll be fine on my own to get back to having normal hygiene... and then we can talk. Um, DarkBoard, you have water, right?"

[the-nug-king]

A bottle of water slid out of the dispenser.

"Well, I shall leave you to wash then. Let me know once you're done."

[grey matter]

"Alright then. Thanks, DarkBoard. And... thanks for checking on me. I'll send Lazarus my thanks for his concerns soon..."
Lucas disappeared into his bathroom after drinking about half of the water bottle, and eventually emerged about 20 minutes later.

"Well... off to find Three," he muttered to himself.
