skystar looked to the crowd of cats. "you can tell them, aspentail," she told her deputy. she then looked back at lichenflower. "the abandoned twoleg nest by the twoleg bridge," she said to her.

tinyfang nodded. he waited for aspentail to tell the cats.

mapleclaw sighed and flicked her ear, waiting for aspentail to say what was going on.

sweetpaw could heard the pawstep loud and clear. she kept following after kestrelflight but she kept getting detreated.

scorch was getting very irritated because he couldn't find the sunclan cats, or loners or whatever they are.

river watched crest, her sister. she was trying to hard to track these cats.

Aspentail nodded and turned to the assembled warriors. In a low, serious voice, he explained what was going on and that they needed to form a battle plan.

Lichenflower waited until Aspentail had finished talking before looking at Skystar. "I'll go help Raven, Lunarsky and the kits. Do you want to help Silverleaf?"

Otterpaw's eyes widened after Aspentail had finished explaining. The Moonclan cats would attack tonight! The grey tabby shivered, Ash's prophecy running through her mind again. Would it have anything to do with the battle?

Kestrelflight paused so Sweetpaw could catch up. "Run ahead for a bit and then go back to camp. Tell Skystar that I'm trying to delay them as much as I can and that I'll be back as soon as possible," He whispered into her ear. Tinyfang must be at camp by now and waiting for them to return. He waited until she'd left before he uttered a soft growl. The growl would betray his location to the Moonclan cats but it would also keep them focused on him instead of Sweetpaw. As soon as the growl had left his jaws, Kestrelflight was moving, half-running through the forest.

Crest jumped, her ears flattening at the menacing growl that split the night's quiet. She glanced at Scorch, waiting for his lead.

skystar nodded. "alright, i'll meet you there," she said. she walked to find the elder and found her sleeping in her nest. she felt bad waking up silverleaf but it had to be done. she lead her towards the twoleg nest and into it, waiting for lichenflower to appear.

tinyfang looked over at aspentail. "if we can lure them deep into the forest they will probably get lost in the undercover," he suggested. "and then we will have some warriors there and others around camp," he said.

mapleclaw flicked her ear. "tinyfang actually has a point," she said.

sweetpaw was starting to get really shaken as the moonclan cat drew closer. she looked at kestrelflight and her eyes widened. "that will be one against three, are you sure?" she asked, worried for her clanmate.

scorch caught a glimpse of the two cats. he lowered his tail, a signal for him and his apprentices to hide behind trees as they neared and throw rocks to throw them off. he quickly slid behind a tree.

river nodded to crest then slipped behind a large oak. this was one move that only moonclan cat practiced.

Lichenflower carefully woke Raven and Lunarsky. "Hurry and wake the kits. Moonclan is attacking and we need to get you guys and Silverleaf to the abandoned twoleg nest so you'll be safe." She whispered to the queens.

Aspentail blinked thoughtfully. "Good idea, Tinyfang. The undergrowth will hinder them and make it easier for us to defeat them." The deputy eyed the cats. "Most of our warriors should go with the patrol attacking. I don't think we'll have enough cats if we divide in half. We should have a pair of runners who'll run back and forth to get help if needed."

Kestrelflight blinked gently at her. "I'll lead them to the twoleg place. I was born there so I'll know my way around. They'll get lost in the twoleg place and I'll come back to camp as soon as I can." He whispered, his voice low and quiet. The tabby lifted his head, eyes narrowing to scan the forest for the Moonclan cats. He couldn't see them. "Go Sweetpaw." He murmured. "Make sure you keep going in the same direction we were heading in for a few paces and then swerve away to go back." He waited until she had started moving before he let out a soft, taunting yowl, "Come out, come out wherever you are," It was as if the Moonclan cats had intruded on his territory. Kestrelflight glanced around, muscles tensed to run at any second. Kestrelflight tasted the air, the Moonclan cats scent enveloping him.

Crest eyed the Sunclan cats nervously as she slipped behind a maple tree, fur bristling. The wind was blowing their scent towards them and the tabby tom could clearly smell them. "I can smell your fear scent," The Sunclan cat growled. "Come out and maybe I'll let you go without a scratch." Strong words for a cat so outnumbered. Crest shivered, awed and frightened. It was a brave and foolish cat who challenged three other cats.

lunarsky jumped awake and nodded. she looked over and saw that raven was awake. "raven, please carry slatekit and i will carry stormkit," she said to her. raven nodded and picked up the small kit. she then picked up stormkit and nodded to lichenflower. "lead the way," she said.

skystar nodded. "alright, i'll meet you there," she said. she walked to find the elder and found her sleeping in her nest. she felt bad waking up silverleaf but it had to be done. she lead her towards the twoleg nest and into it, waiting for lichenflower to appear.

tinyfang smiled, satisfied with himself for coming up with a good plan. he nodded. "sweetpaw and i could be runners if it is needed," he said to him. he then dipped his head to the deputy. "and i'll just leave the rest to you and skystar," he said.

sweetpaw's pelt bristled a bit at the thought of the twoleg place. she knew that there were twolegs, rats, rouges, loners and dogs. she flicked her tail and nodded, trying to calm herself. "okay, just be careful," she said then slyly started off in the direction of the crowfood path.

scorch bristled as he heard the sound of the sunclan cat. he barred his teeth a bit then heard a bit of rustling and saw a flash of orange fur heading off into the tall grass towards the crowfood path. he looked at the apprentices and signaled for them to go after the cat. he would fight the one cat on his own. he slipped out from behind the tree. he unsheathed his claws. "mind telling me what you are doing in moonclan territory?" he growled.

river looked over at crest when scorch motioned for them to go after the cat. she slipped off, making sure no one saw her, other than crest and scorch.

Stormkit's eyes blinked blearily open as his mother picked him up. "Where are we goi-," His words were cut off by a yawn. Lichenflower waited for the two queens to pick up the kits before slipping out of the den to join Skystar.

Aspentail nodded tensely, his gaze searching the clearing for Skystar. She was with Lichenflower, Silverleaf, and the queens and kits. Taking them somewhere safe.

Kestrelflight eyed her anxiously. "Be careful Sweetpaw," His gaze shifted to a tom who unsheathed his claws when he saw him. Kestrelflight hissed menacingly and darted towards the tom, lashing one paw out at the tom to try to rake his claws down Scorch's pelt as he passed. The tabby tom didn't risk anything other than that. He bolted towards the twolegplace, one ear positioned to hear the tom behind him.

Crest fell behind River, her eyes frightened. This would likely end up in a battle and although Crest felt comforted by the fact that her sister was their with her, Crest was still worried.
