Applenose's mouth dropped slightly at the thought of three medicine cats. "Caveclan allows for three medicine cats at one time?" he asked. "Well, I guess it would help a lot with a larger clan," he continued, mostly to himself. "That's cool!" He grinned at the comparison of kits to weeds. "Heh. And we might have some kits of our own! Briarwhisker and Birchnose--the deputy--finally decided to have kits." He chuckled. "And we all thought that Briarwhisker would remain mateless and kitless for the rest of her life. But she and Daisywhisker hit it off pretty well."

“We’re a bit bigger of a clan so Morningstar should allow Splashkit to be a medicine apprentice. But I think Shadedleaf and Cloudpool will talk with him more when she’s closer to becoming an apprentice.” Cloudmask explained. “Oh that’s wonderful!” The she-cat purred, happy for them. “Kitless is kinda how we think Harespring and Juniperfoot will stay but they both swear they want kits but that now isn’t the right time. Harespring’s sister, Sedgetail, tells me they’ve been saying for a while.” Cloudmask told him with a small shrug.

Quailwing looked at the shuddering tom and narrowed her eyes slightly. This tom seemed to be different then some of the other she has met. "Wait, did you say Sparrowclan?" She asked in a hint of astonishment. She hadn't even noticed the clans scent until now.

It doesn't matter anyways! Quailwing thought before putting her paw down and keeping the pressure off it "Why do you care anyways? So what if I am on your territory." She spat in anger. It was obvious something was bothering her, but this tom wouldn't know it. This was their first meet and Quailwing was in no mood to play nice.

Her fur betrayed her however, it remained in a calm flat like state, showing no signs of rising to make her appear bigger. She didn't even plan on moving a mouse length towards the tom, or at all. Quailwing however did flatten her ears, a slight warning for him to keep his distance but when her eyes fully met his calm and kind pale green eyes she couldn't help but feel slightly relaxed though she was cautious not to show any signs of that just yet.

Velvetflicker glanced worriedly over her shoulder, then nodded to herself, "Rowanpaw's good with younger cats, and Bramblepaw is an eager learner. They'll be fine." she trotted to the maple tree, hoping against hope that Gladestap might still check for her here on occasion. It had been so many moons since she had seen him, but she was desperate to get away, to see the tall, handsome tom again.

Shrewrunner wasn't surprise that she didn't knew that she was on Sparrowclan territory. they were a semi-new clan so it's normal for little to no cats to know about them or even know that they existed for that matter. the tom's fur stood up on the edge after her little angry spat at him. to be honest, he was kinda expecting this kind of reply, due to Ferretnose's first meet with him, but the other one being a more kinder, nicer one. ' maybe....she just had a bad morning? or this going to be Ferretnose all over again? ' the second-in-command thought but chased away those thoughts. he shouldn't assume ever, since you never know the background and/or problems that certain cat is facing.

the tom took a few moments to calm down before replying to her little spat of anger. " w-well it's kinda my d-duty to patrol t-the territory and either c-c-chase off the cats that c-come by or g-get them to join i-if they s-s-so wish. so you k-kinda have to leave or stay and j-join, Sparrowstar's w-words. " The tom was in no mood to fight nor will ever be but he is now alerted around the she-cat, ready to get his sharp claws out and attack if she leaped at him. but he would much, much rather talk problems out then go for teeth and claws straight away. he kept his kind gaze as he waited for a response.

Leave or stay.


Those words rang through Quailwing's mind. He gave her an option and it wasn't something that she was use to. Cloudstar never asked her to do anything, just commanded and demanded that she do thing his way. Even Finchfin, her sister, tells her what to do but never does what Quailwing asks her. The option to leave and go back to Briarclan was unappealing and on the other paw the option to stay and have a change intrigued her.

Quailwing hadn't noticed that she was looking down as she was lost in thought until she looked back up at the tom, this time he seemed to have a glow about him. Was it a sign from Starclan or something that was messing with her head? Maybe she was developing feeling for this tom, a tom that she had just met because he was the first cat to ever give her an option to chose on her own. The molly slowly shook her head, it was her turn to be a little shy "I-I..." was all she could manage. She didn't know what she wanted to do and the strong and mixed emotions she felt made her feel confused.

What she did know was that this tom had caught her in a bad mood and now she felt bad for acting that way towards him in the beginning. Quailwing took a deep breath and let it out slowly before whispering a small "S-sorry." She didn't get up however, a sign that she had no intentions of moving just yet. The thorn in her paw grew in pain and she hissed. Her eyes widened at the tom, knowing that he could have taken it as a hiss towards him so she lifted up her paw and turned it up so he could see it "I- I have a thorn in my paw and I can't get it out on my own." she explained quietly. Her calm pale green eyes looked at him, the anger she had was all but gone now.

the tom's green, kind gaze was now replaced with absolute shock at the she-cat's sudden change in her attitude towards him. this time, he was fully expecting an another angry spat from the newcomer but she surprised him again. what happen to make her suddenly change from aggressive to nice and shy? was it something he said? even her blue-green eyes, who originally held an angry gaze towards him, changed to more of a calm one. he shook away those thoughts as he returned to his normally gaze and looked at the she-cat's paw. the sharp thorn did look stuck into the she-cats pink paw pad. now Shrewrunner wasn't even close to being good with medical stuff, so he isn't even going to try to get it out since he doesn't want to risk giving this cat an infection or something of the sort.

after examining the thorn, Shrewrunner looked back up at the she-cat. " that thorn d-does look pretty deep. n-now i-i-i'm not an e-expert when it c-c-c-comes to healing a-and herbs. if you want, y-you c-c-can come with me t-to go s-s-see our witch d-d-doctor, or by your t-terms, medicine c-cat. p-plus I don't want to r-r-risk giving y-you an i-infection by trying to a-attempt t-t-to take it out. and then a-after that, you c-can g-g-go back to w-whereever you live o-or like I said, you c-can stay a-a-and join us " Shrewrunner offered for the tabby she-cat. he just didn't want to leave the she-cat with a thorn deep in her paw pad but at the same time, if she didn't want to go with him then he understands. they did just met after all. and after this, they would most likely not ever cross each others ways again.

Velvetflicker took a deep breath, "So, since the last time I saw you, another litter of kits was born, our deputies kits. Then there was an accident near a very dangerous stream and our deputy almost drowned, then there was a big battle with a fox that wanted to live on SwiftClan territory. Our leader lost a life, one cat broke his leg and another twisted a paw. The rest got minor injuries, scratches, cuts, the like. Then, just this moon, a kit from the youngest litter decided to be a medicine cat and I now have two apprentices." she stopped for breath, then continued, "As for general clan happenings, Dancingstripe and Hailclaw are spending a lot of time together, so I know what you mean about possibly having kits soon." Then she hesitated, frowning, "And there's my apprentice, Rowanpaw. She was in charge of caring for Flarestrike, the young warrior who broke a leg in the battle against the fox. He saved our leader's life, which is how he earned his warrior name. Maybe I'm just being over protective. She's eleven moons old now, she can handle herself. And he's not a bad cat. I mean, he's kind and brave and gentle. They're just so young. I don't know if it's wise for them to start a relationship when their emotions are still so unsteady." she stopped herself, sighing. "But I'm rambling again. And I'm not here to just talk about clan troubles, I'm here to be with you." she said, smiling up at Gladestep.

The only reason I could come today is because I'm having Rowanpaw teach Bramblepaw some basic herb skills. It'll be good for both of them, teaching something is the best way to learn it, and Bramblepaw is a good listener."
