Applenose sighed. "Yeah," he said. "Although, maybe I could show you around...no," he said with a shake of his head. "Nevermind." His body heated up as he realized what he had been about to suggest: treason. While Forestclan and Caveclan were friendly, he was sure that neither leader would tolerate that. "Say, how many seasons have you seen?" he asked, trying to steer away from borders. "I've seen...hmmm...maybe four or five newleaves?" He gave a half-smile. "Time passes so quickly."

"Umm, maybe?" said Hillfang hesitantly. "I kinda want things between us to cool down. What happened was..." She gulped, unsure if she should divulge the information to a non-Forestclanner. Granted, Juniperpelt had been nothing but kind... "Well, Oakheart wanted to talk to me right after the...the burial, and I just wanted to be alone. He insisted so I just...kinda ran away. It might be best if I wait a bit longer."

The realization of what the tom was implying made Cloudmask’s eyes widen. Neither clan would be pleased to find trespassers, no matter if it was an ally clan or not. No, that was not an option. Realizing what he was doing, Cloudmask nodded. “We’re around the same age then,” She told him, blinking at him. “It does. It seems like I’ve just barely joined Caveclan.” Okay so maybe it hadn’t been all that long since she’d been one of them, but time had still passed quickly while she got used to her new home.

"Life in PineClan is a far cry from where I was in my kithood, that's for sure." Orchidnose mewed, a somber and reminiscent look crossed her face before quickly covering it up with a smile. She certainly didn't have the best life in her younger years, separated from her brother Juniperpelt when she was a moon and then losing her mother to the sharp jaws of a wild dog when she were hardly three. It was a miracle she and Egrettail were found by a PineClan patrol, that miracle grew into something more when they discovered their other brother had been living here as well. She liked to believe perhaps StarClan had something to do with it, as she internally agreed with Smallwhisker when the tortoiseshell mewed how impressive and strange they were. "Are you a warrior? I believe you can tell I am." She mewed once Smallwhisker had finished speaking.

The hesitance initially heard in the Hillfang's voice had Juniperpelt wondering if he shouldn't have been so forward in suggesting he could lead her home, however he quickly discovered why she had sounded the way she did in the first place. A burial certainly didn't imply any kind of positive connotations along with it, and no wonder she wasn't so eager to return home. "...In that case, you're welcome to stay as long as you need to." He mewed, his voice holding a caring tone to it as he gave Hillfang a relaxed smile. Juniperpelt was silent for a few heartbeats, wondering what to say next. "A-Are you hungry? I could hunt some... thing..." He trailed off once he realized that offer would in fact break the warrior code, blinking owlishly, it hit him how difficult it was to have a friend from another Clan.

Applenose chuckled, but his eyes were slightly downcast. "I still remember what it was like with barely ten clanmates," he said. "After Duckpelt's kits were born, the clan grew really quickly. Have you ever wondered what other clans were like?" he asked. "I myself have always wondered how any clan could survive on a mountain and I think I've heard of one or two that live in wide-open places. I've always found it strange, not to be under the cover of trees. They keep us safe, yaknow."

"My whole life basically. I wasn't born in PineClan though, I was taken as a kit." Juniperpelt said, a frown twitching at his lips as he remembered his turbulent kithood. He had been a moon old when he was separated from his family, having been a little too curious for his own good and sneaking away from his mother and littermates before becoming hopelessly lost. He spent the night cold and alone, visions of starry cats invading his dreams telling him to seek out a cat with a pelt as black as the night sky. That cat had been the old PineClan leader, Shadowstar, and she told him that she requested for a cat at the Moonpool and she got him. "Can't really see myself anywhere else honestly, I think this is where I'm meant to be." He mewed, staring out at the pine trees around them before gazing at Hillfang again with a big smile on his face. "But enough about me, I'm curious about you. Do you have any friends in ForestClan? I have my siblings, and then there's Acornclaw. She and I were raised together when we kits. You might've seen her at Gatherings, brown-and-white fur; usually hangs out with an EchoClan tom."

The molly couldn’t even imagine Caveclan that small. Aspenclan had been small but it had been growing quickly before the clan fell apart. Looking at him, she hesitated a moment before continuing the conversation. “Sometimes I do, although I got to find out when I joined Caveclan.” The molly admitted quietly. “Before Caveclan, I was part of Aspenclan. We kinda just fell apart, I guess. Pinetail and Minkear came with me and we were lucky that Caveclan took us in.” Her gaze clouded over slightly as she thought about her former clan. Caveclan was a wonderful clan, but Aspenclan was more than that. The start of her life with a clan. She knew Pinetail and Minkear felt a similar way but they hadn’t formed a family within Aspenclan. Not then. She knew they missed Aspenclan too, but the separation from family had made it all the more harder. “Aspenclan was all an aspen forest so I know what you mean about it being safe. Seeing new territories isn’t all that great if you’re forced to leave you’re home.” She told him.

She glanced at Orchidnose in confusion. ''I told you I was a medicine cat.'' Smallwhisker murmured, chuckling softly at the forgetfulness of the grey warrior. Far from finding it foolish, Smallwhisker was pleasantly surprised to find it endearing. ''And as for hard lives, tell me about it.'' The tortoiseshell sighed, eyes glazing over momentarily with sickening memories. ''I've had far too much conflict in my life for my liking; one of the reasons I'm a medicine cat, y'see?''

Gladestep's fur settled on his back. The huge tom glared at the molly as she spat at him. Who did she think she was? Medicine cats were allowed to travel across borders, so why did she care if he was near her border.
"I'm Gladestep. Cliffclan's medicine cat. I'm allowed here." Gladestep wrinkled his nose at the feisty molly. Gladestep loomed over her, she had to have some courage hissing at him.
"And, if you had watched where you were going, you would have realized that I was looking for the catmint you are stepping on, not trying to attack your clan." Gladestep meowed crossly. Warriors just don't appreciate herbs.
