the gray-and-white molly never enjoyed gatherings, it was nerve-wracking to be surrounded by other clans, and she hardly spoke to anyone in fear of her own anxiety taking over. however this time was different as she approached the leader's rock, spotting foxstar of mapleclan's distinctive ginger coat among the others with a saddened look on his face. it reminded her of how lizardstripe and rosemask looked if they ever thought of their stillborn kits, and she felt compelled to go up to him and ask how everything was faring in his clan. of course that in itself was a chore for her mentally, but she told herself that she had to get over her anxiety at some point lest she be fearful of gatherings for all her eight lifetimes.

" ah, foxstar - " she started, hoping the tom was able to her voice among the chatter. " how is mapleclan doing recently? " the leader hoped she sounded casual enough, though her voice threatened to take form of a croon as she spoke - much like how she addressed lizardstripe as a mourning father back at home.

rowanpelt was always hyper vigilant about the cats around him, he had to be, as gatherings were the only time he could learn about his kits in jinxclan and that any cat could learn about his forbidden mate if he wasn't careful enough. thus he was quick to notice the absence of swallowclan's black-furred deputy - ravenfeather. he remembered overhearing how she recently became a mother and therefore temporarily resigned from her rank to care for her family before, but surely her kits were around six moons now, right? if so, there was no reason for her to be a queen any longer - not when she was the deputy.

he cast a curious glance at the light-colored tom known as honeyear, who stood straight and proud, and figured he should see how things were going in swallowclan. rowanpelt figured it was the right idea too, he noticed the odd looks everyone gave him for only speaking to willowbolt at gatherings, talking to someone else might throw them off for a bit. " you're honeyear, right? i'm rowanpelt, pineclan's deputy. "

this was vervaincloud's first time attending a gathering, the blue pointed tom stood proud and regal as he observed his surroundings, his dark blue eyes calculating and expressionless as he took note of everything that was going on. from what he could glean from mintstar, this took place every moon, and it was only time the clans ever viewed themselves as equals until the night came to an end and they all had to go their separate ways again. how interesting, he thought, the clans were so close and so far apart all at the same time. the pineclan warrior sat down with the rest of the seated warriors, licking at his fore paw as watched the activities go by. perhaps he could refresh on his flirtatious ways as well, it had been a long time since he had been in a molly's company.

it wasn't often ramhorn was able to join gatherings, he was told it was to avoid scrutiny from other clans to see a medicine cat leave their clan for another, but he knew it was because mintstar was uncomfortable with his presence even if she tried to hide it from him. the snow-white tom glanced around the area, watching his clanmates separate to own little groups before spotting squirrelstar speaking to a molly from another clan. he smiled fondly as he watched her, happy to know she looked still looked well and decided to leave her alone as he casually padded through the crowd. his eyes trailed off towards the area where medicine cats usually gathered, instantly spotting the gray-and-ginger pelt of his former apprentice among the rest.

ramhorn called out a mew to brindlecloud, trying to catch her attention so they could speak alone and catch up after spending so many moons apart. he often wondered how the molly was doing, even more so as he remembered how squirrelstar expressed her concerns of how she thought that perhaps brindlecloud took a mate from outside the clan.

acornpaw sighed to herself as she saw her former denmates laughing to themselves as he headed off to sit with the other warriors, her tail drooping down as she remembered she would have to wait another moon to be at the same rank they were in now. she already missed the three siblings, especially juniperpelt, who had been her closest friend and rival since kithood. she was about to ask maplepaw if she needed any advice for her first gathering, but the silent tortoiseshell just left her side to go be with her mothers again.

'real dependent, isn't she?' acornpaw remarked blankly, but if she was being honest, caught in a flood with no family to speak of when she was barely a moon old would probably cause her to be the same way. it was like how her mother fawnfur stuck to her father like a leech, now that she thought about it. the apprentice rolled her eyes as she trotted towards the apprentice's center, eager to see if her friend from echoclan snakepaw was here. luckily for her, he was, and acornpaw took the time to blend in with the crowd to make sure he wouldn't spot her before sneakily approaching him from behind and shouting " surprise! " in hopes of catching him off guard.

"Oh, that sounds excellent! So many kits.. Gorseclan has a few kits of it's own, one of them almost ready to become an apprentice." She purred, smiling at the thought of her prospering clan. Her expression fell slightly, looking to the side. "Asterclan wasn't the only clan destroyed it seems. Most of the cats currently in Gorseclan are from other disbanded clans." She nodded to Mousestar once again, chuckling slightly. "Yes, the prey is running well for us too!"

Batwing was feeling a little more restless today. Maybe it was the incoming chill getting to the thin-coated tom, or just the energy of the gathering working him up. Either way, he decided to work off his energy by pacing around the clearing, perhaps doing a little people-watching as he walked. He got up and trotted away at a quick pace.

Charredfern sat on the energies of the medicine cat clearing, grooming his smoky fur. He often tried to smile and show his clan pride, but sometimes it was a little hard. He was aware that he stuck out awkwardly in the group, just like his wrenched leg sitting painfully beside him. But he wouldn't let it put a damper on his mood, so he sat up tall and put on an extra friendly grin, scanning around to group to find someone to talk to.

Hareflight smirked, replying happily. "Best fisher, eh? That's quite a title." He puffed out his chest, taking a moment to brag. "Well, I'm one of the fastest runners in Gorseclan. Few can beat these paws!" He snickered, patting the ground with his forepaws to emphasize. Hareflight nodded at Oaksplash's next statement, glancing over his shoulder at the surrounding cats. "Yes, there are an awful lot of new cats here. I'm fine with it really, I like seeing all the new faces."

Blossomstep chuckled softly at the younger molly's rambling. She quickly stopped herself, smiling apologetically. "Talking a little quickly, are we now? But don't worry about it, I heard you." She sat up straight and replied. "Now, Gorseclan's territory is a nice grassy field. Lots of rabbits and mice run around in the grasses and nibble on the seeds. But it is kind of dangerous, because of the horses that run around! But the gathering isn't all that far away. Not anymore than a day away, but it's still quite the trip."

Cinderfall nearly jumped at the sudden appearance of the tom, shrinking further back into the bushes. "I d-don't know." She stammered out. "Well, I mean I do, I don't like the noise and the crowds, but y'know." She clamped her mouth tightly shut, big eyes warily watching his every move.

Greydusk still felt a little bitter here. The grey tom knew he shouldn't continue to dwell on the loss of Rainclan. But it just loomed over him like an angry storm cloud, (pun intended,) refusing to give way. Whenever he looked up at the leader's rock, an unpleasant little voice would hiss in his ear, "You should be up there. You should still be leader. It's all their fault." He had to ignore it, and so he slipped away from the gathering. Slipping away to sulk in the bushes, and silently curse the stars for his misfortune.

Squirrelstar dipped her head in greeting to Lionheart. "Echoclan is doing well, not much has happened. I'm glad things have started to get boring." She laughed. "If things are boring, then nothing bad is happening."

The she-cat looked out over the other Clan cats. "Beestripe should be here soon. Her and Strawberrypatch had to go back to camp. Mossvine's kits tried to sneak out after our gathering group left."

Brindlecloud's ears perked when she heard her name being called. She looked up eagerly, expecting to see Appleheart. Her tail still swishing happily when she saw that it was her former mentor, not mate, calling for her. The dilute calico hopped to her paws and hurried across the clearing to him, pausing briefly to tell Crowpaw to not follow her and stay with the other medicine cats.

"Ramhorn!" She cooed, touching her nose to his before stepping back. "How are you liking Pineclan?"

Beestripe looked up when she heard Lionheart's voice. She laughed, rolling her eyes as she squeezed between two senior warriors from another Clan. "It won't be a normal occurrence. Goosekit and Koikit were the masterminds behind the sneaking out plan, they dragged poor Silverkit with them." She laughed before dipping her head in greeting to her mother.

Sandpaw looked up at her littermate and his friend, a curious look on her face. She watched them for a moment longer before returning to grooming her ginger fur.

Fritillarystar had to stop herself from smirking; Moorclan was evidently doing better than Leafclan and it thrilled her that her clan was quickly growing with nobody in the way. Aside from one untimely death, Fritillarystar knew that Moorclan could survive. Turning to Emberstar, Fritillarystar gave her a deadpan look when she inquired what her territory was like. ''I believe Moorclan is a clue.'' Fritillarystar remarked, curling her tail around her paws. ''And what have you heard of us? I'm sorry, but whenever someone mentions my clan, I want to know.''

Listening to Brambleburr rolling her 'Rs' wasn't unpleasant, but Dawnpool had to wonder where she'd gotten the accent from. ''Are you from far-away? I'm sorry, but I haven't heard of a cat with such an accent like yours.'' The lilac warrior admitted. ''It's very lovely.'' She smiled, that wasn't a lie. It was a lovely voice, kind but unique; a perfect change from the bland tones of her comrades.

ramhorn let out a soft purr as he felt the molly's nose on his own, a warm look in his blue eyes as she pulled away to ask how he was fairing. brindlecloud had always been a nice cat, and even though they had their share of disagreements as mentor and apprentice, he couldn't be more proud of her for what she had grown up to be. " well it's certainly different from echoclan, but... i think i've found the place i'm meant to be. " true, he has his issues in gaining mintstar's truth, but he had the rest of the clan to back him up and make him feel as welcome as possible - especially from his own mate wasptail, who's piercing yellow eyes would stop anyone from saying something insensitive.

" and how have you been? i spoke to squirrelstar the last time i was able to come, i suppose it hasn't been easy. " he meowed, a sympathetic smile on his face as he recalled how the leader spoke of a dangerous plague that had swept through the clan and took so much of his former clanmates with it. as he waited for the molly to respond, his eyes trailed off towards the black tom saw her spoke to earlier sitting alongside the other medicine cats. he seemed around shadepaw's age, possibly a little younger, and he wondered if his apprentice now had an apprentice of her own to train as an echoclan medicine cat.

acornpaw let out a hearty laugh as the sound of snakepaw's squeak in her ears, she had never known a tom could make that kind of sound before! the young molly covered a paw over her muzzle to stifle her laugh, amusement glimmering her brown eyes as her giggles began to die down. she cleared her throat to gain some composure, but with that smile on his face she found it a little difficult to do. " snakepaw! it's so great to see you again. " she mewed with a purr before taking notice of the molly besides him, she was a lighter shade of brown than he, both both shared the same eye color and facial features, leaving acornpaw to wonder if this was another sibling of his.

Spiderstar looked around at the leaders talking together. He wasn't looking forward to telling everyone about what had happened in Swallowclan, oh no...

Ashpaw:
Now that Honeyear was gone, Ashpaw tore her gaze from him and stayed in a corner, afraid to go anywhere or do anything. Shadows seemed to come from everywhere and reach out to her...

Honeyear: Honeyear quickly made his smile disappear as the tom approached him. "Yes, I am Honeyear, deputy of Swallowclan." he said. "Nice to meet you." He was curious as to why the tom had approached him. Maybe he had known Ravenfeather? Either way, Honeyear would need to be careful.

Fritillarystar had to stop herself from smirking; Moorclan was evidently doing better than Leafclan and it thrilled her that her clan was quickly growing with nobody in the way. Aside from one untimely death, Fritillarystar knew that Moorclan could survive. Turning to Emberstar, Fritillarystar gave her a deadpan look when she inquired what her territory was like.
