Birchnose nodded. "Thank you too," she said. "We too, value each of our allies." She glanced around the crowd. All was well. "Has the prey been running well in your clan?"

"Why no," Crowcloud responded in mock seriousness. "We live in a desert!" He chuckled. "Yes, Forestclan is named for its rather large forest. We've gotten a river running from the Moonpool's direction to Caveclan's border, as well as a few streams that cross it." He left out that one stream was named for him. "It's peaceful and we have plenty of prey year-round. Of course the types of prey change but we have plenty of good hunters. What's Gorseclan like?"

Dustleaf hissed when a white tom, about Owlpaw's age, butted in. Privately, she shared the same opinion as the older tom who now seemed to be a relative of some sort. Parent? Uncle? Either way, she nodded when he silently asked for her to leave. It wasn't her business any longer, after all. She wandered away before freezing at the sound of a raised voice. She turned back and saw Lambpaw hiss at Owlpaw, although she couldn't make out what he said. Maybe...she would stick around. Hang back just far enough to avoid hearing anything private but close enough to help if needed.

Applenose smiled. He knew all about large litters... All the mollies with kits had no fewer than three in their litters! He frowned when Rabbitheart mentioned "kit-fever," a term he had never heard of. And three mollies at one time... "Well, I'm sure that your clan will find a way to last through the leafbare," he said. "We also had the same problem--Snowfoot and Fleckstorm had their kits within two moons of each other and we were worried about how that would turn out--but it worked out just fine. I'm sure that Briarclan will make it," he said with confidence.

When Rabbitheart stated that he had been with Briarclan for about five moons, Applenose nodded. That wasn't too bad. But his thoughts circled back to the coming leafbare and what it could mean for Briarclan. "If I were you," he said slowly, "I'd be sending out as many hunting patrols as possible. That's what we did." And hopefully it would work for them.

Jinxstar led his clan into the gathering space, quickly trotting over to the leaders perch and jumping up. He looked at who had gathered and wondered who to talk to first.

Rowanpelt was troubled about the state of affairs in JinxClan ever since Willowbolt had told him what was going on at the last Gathering, so the russet-furred deputy scanned the area worriedly for any sign of a familiar black pelt among the rest of the deputies as he approached the area where they were all gathered. His ears perked up when he could spot Willowpelt and quickly trotted over to her, not even bothering to greet her as he spoke. "How are my kits?" He asked anxiously.

"They are great, the were named apprentices just yesterday." Willowbolt told him with a smile, "They will all be an asset to the clan."

She seemed like she was going to say more, but just left it at that for the moment.

Ashleaf walked over to the rest of the medicine cats, feeling a bit more comfortable this time.

"Right, as soon as you have been here you have not been able to stop smiling and looking at me. It makes me wonder what it is you want." The grey tom meowed after leaning closer to her "You going to tell me what it is you want or should I force it out of you. You did say you are getting into your older days so I am sure it wont be to hard." he chuckled evilly, the threat was even in his eyes as he dared her.

Blackmouith smiled even wider, "Oh, sweety, there is no need for that kind of talk" she said in a sickening tone, "Besides, a deputy like you should not be making a scene, not at a gathering for certain."

Blackmouth leveled him with a cold, calculating stare. It was obvious that she was more then she seemed, and probably no where near as frail as she was putting on. Sagestorm was the type to not really care about that, though, as she full well knew. That was what she wanted, to exploit him as best as possible.

It is a good thing you will have to become a medicine cat one day because you would be a horrible warrior." he growled at her. "Just look at the commotion you are making here, didn't Sagestorm tell you not to do this?" he added.

"N-no" Owlpaw meowed quietly, though she was sure no cat would hear her over her brother's outburst towards her. Her eyes started to tear and she shut them as hard as she could. She tried to shut everything and everyone out, just as Archpool had taught her when she was younger. She had to resist the urge to cover her ears with her paws like a kit, willing for any cat to come to her rescue.[/center]

"I may not be the boss of you, but I am still a warrior and you only an apprentice." Tux said as he looked at the kits, "and, to correct you, yes, I am your father. These are your siblings, Spiderpaw and Whitepaw."

Tux knew that the two apprentices would probably not believe him, but he would need not need to give them much proof, just get them to sit and talk with him for a while.

"You mean, these are our siblings?" Spiderpaw said with a slightly disgusted look at Lambpaw.

"Oh, great! That is so cool!" Whitepaw chirped as she looked from Lambpaw to Owlpaw.

Daisywhisker smiled more openly. "How old is your apprentice?" he asked, a little more comfortable now that the conversation was going. Gatherings weren't so bad after all.

Harmonyheart was curious about this new tom, and he seemed quiet handsome the longer she looked at him.

"Just apprenticed yesterday, six moons." she said, "I am sorry, I do not mean to change the subject, and please forgive my rudeness, but how is it that a tom ends up with the name daisy?"

She knew that all clans had different ways, and naming kits was one of those, but she had always been curious about the traditions and habits of other clans.

Rowanpelt let out a relieved sigh after hearing that they were alright, his yellow eyes gleamed with pride at hearing the news, already knowing that they would become great warriors one day. However once the realization hit that he would never get to see his kits grow up, his expression dimmed and his ears and tail drooped in sadness. "I'm glad." He mewed somberly, staring at the ground for a few minutes until he focused on Willowbolt again. "And Velvetrabbit? How is she?"

Acornpaw let out a friendly purr as she felt Snakepaw's nose on hers, seeing the dark brown tabby was probably her favorite part of coming to Gatherings, it was always nice to be with a friend that she hadn't seen in a while. "I'm doing great, better now that I'm seeing you." She replied, smiling at Snakepaw. "And I'm nearly done with my training, actually! My mentor Comfreyfang thinks I'm ready to be a warrior now actually..." Acornpaw trailed off with an awkward chuckle, turning her gaze away from Snakepaw to look at her paws. "It's nice but... I just don't know if I'm ready yet. Everyone is so mature and stuff and I'm just... me."

Cloudstar made his way up onto the leader's rock, he sat away from the others, not really in the mood to chat. He was sure he would say the wrong thing if he did because of what has happened back at camp. So many cats grieved over Starlingpaw's death, not to mention now there was a panic coming from Archpool about all the litters coming up. The medicine cat argued with the leader about postponing Owlpaw's warrior training and start her on healing knowledge but Cloudstar refused. The leader was just in a foul mood and was a ticking time bomb at the moment.

"I have tried to explain that to him but he insists that I have far to much 'medicine cat priorities' and I don't need to worry about her warrior training." Archpool rolled his eyes. "I hope I don't end up having more litters of kits to worry about. Our elder Resinmoon mentioned the term 'Kit-Fever' and I would hate to be in the middle of that all on my own." he groaned. "I don't have many kitting herbs as it is and these mollies just love kits." he groaned quietly.

"I am so sorry, I realize that I am just complaining." Archpool meowed apologetically. "Cloudstar just has a way that rubs my fur wrong." he muttered.

He didn't care for her threats and saw passed the overly sweet attitude she must have used to fool so many cats before her. When he saw the cold stare that she gave him he couldn't help but smirk "There now, I bet this is much better than pretending to be the nice ol' molly." she meowed to her.

Owlpaw listened to what the tom had said, so this was her father? She knew that Bouldershade and Fawnwillow were not her true parents. Even though they treated them like their own, Owlpaw has always just known. She even swears that there are nights where she can see a cat that looked just like her just older and smelled differently. Owlpaw watched as Lambpaw made an outburst, part of her hoped that the tom and the apprentices would follow after him, maybe she could even escape and somehow find Archpool. Everything about the Brairclan medicine cat comforted her, even the stranger she had just met, Dustleaf has a sense of calmness and Owlpaw wanted nothing more than to feel calm.

A slight gust of wind shook the bush she was under and caused the branches to scrap against her scratches. The pain it caused had caused her to jump slightly "Ow.." she whispered. She looked back then, taking her eyes off the cats that proclaimed to be her family just so she could look at the marks that her mentor had made just this evening.

Dustleaf narrowed her eyes at Lambpaw, who had stalked away. She couldn't hear what he had said but Owlpaw had looked uncomfortable. She had a decision to make--should she go after Lambpaw, stay near Owlpaw, or simply walk away? Stay near Owlpaw, she thought. And the decision was made. If the older tom requested a medicine cat's help for Owlpaw's injury, then she would be there.

"We also had some large litters--Duckpelt and Snowfoot had four kits while Fleckstorm had three--but five... In one litter..." Applenose shook his head. "That's a lot." He paused, having run out of words to say. "May Starclan bless you and your clan with luck this coming leafbare," he said.

Or if they have neither, are given a suffix to show that the current ones can't properly show who they are. So," he continued, "My fur is kind of like the color of a daisy and I'm one of the best hunters in the clan. Hence: Daisywhisker." He grinned. "I'm a bit disappointed that my brother, Dawnstorm, didn't give any of his kits a prefix that starts with 'g.' Ah, well. You can't have everything in life." He cocked his head at Harmonyheart. He liked the sound of her name but was curious how she got it, too. "What about your name?"

"She is doing fine as well, she was just recently given a new apprentice." Willowbolt said with a smile, "But, I fear, that things will not be good for much longer. You need to be prepared to come to our aide when we call on you."

Willowbolt took a deep breath and heaved a long sigh, "Jinxstar is going to hate me for this, but I want you to speak with Mintstar when you two can be alone, and stress to her how important it is that this is kept quiet. We will need her support in this as well."

Blackmouth chuckled as well, "Pretending, who's pretending? The only guise I see here is the big tom standing in front of me. You really think that you will ever be deputy?" she laughed in his face, "No cat in their right mind would make you their deputy. You can't even pretend right."

She said all this as quietly, so that only he could hear her. Her eyes glittered mockingly as she stared him down. She had not moved from her position, and any other cat looking at them could never suspect her of provoking anything from the hot-headed tom.

Tux quickly followed after Lambpaw, "Lambpaw, just answer me one question, where is your other brother?" Tus said as he cut the young cat off, "When Owldust had you, there were five in the litter. Three males and two females, where is your other brother?"

Tux was not sure if Lambpaw would say anything, but him knowing his mother's name and the fact that there should be another sibling might just be enough to get the young tom's attention.

Spiderpaw walked over to Owlpaw, looking under the bush at her, "Did you get hurt? why not come out so that we can take a look at that. It might need help." Spiderpaw said in a gentle tone.

"Don't listen to Lambpaw, we are more then happy to meet you. I am so glad to finally know who my sister is.
Although, I am wondering where the second brother dad was talking about is. Wasn't there three of the litter that went with Briarclan?"

Spiderpaw nodded, and Whitepaw was not sure if Owlpaw would even know what she was talking about.

Harmonyheart smiled at the mention of it, "That is kind of a long story, but i will give you the short version." she took a breath and started on her tale, "My uncles are named Yinpelt and Yangfur. my mother always said that they were so named because they were polar opposites of each other, even though they were twins. one uncle was dark in color, the other light. She said that they reflected an old myth that good cannot exist without evil, and that one needs both to keep a balance and a harmony within themselves. I look like a perfect mix between my two uncles,
and so she called me Harmony to reflect that balance. Heart was given to me because I was always seen as a very compassionate and caring cat."

She looked at him levelly, enjoying this tom's company more then she probably should.

Orchidstar slipped onto the leader's rock, somewhat proud to see that Gorseclan was one of the first arrivals. She quietly waited, taking the quiet moment to clean her fur.

Batwing had been watching the group for a while, when a silver molly with a haughty look on her face began speak with him.
"Leafclan, eh?" He meowed, flashing her a smirk. "Well I'm Batwing, Gorseclan's deputy." He briefly began to ponder what she had meant by the 'new' deputy of Leafclan, but swiftly pushed away the thought in favor of what she was saying.

"It sounds nice!" He beamed, wiggling as he spoke. "Gorseclan's pretty great too. It's a big field with tall grass, bushes, and plenty of herbs and prey! We make our dens in this old twoleg barn, it's pretty comfy in there. No twolegs anymore, but sometimes some come from the thunderpath to the south." Charredfern didn't seem to notice that he was oversharing, but he seemed proud to brag about his clan.

"Oh my.. Three new litters?" Blossomstep purred, tail curling with amusement. "That sure does sound like a pawful!"
"Hmm.. I remembered one time I thought, that one day I might be a queen. Have some kits of my own." Her features fell into a wistful frown. Blossomstep quietly mused. 'I wonder where he is now.'

"Are you sure you don't want to come?" Boulderstar had asked Toadstep who had insisted the day before that he would be staying behind with his mate. The tabby still remained as stubborn as before, shaking his head, there to watch the rest of his Clanmates off. Bearface growled impatiently.
"I'd rather stay with Softstone. It wouldn't feel right to leave her alone."
"Very well. Let's go." Boulderstar nodded to the warrior, setting off with the rest filing in behind. Toadstep disappeared into the nursery just as the white tail of the newest warrior disappeared from view.

The site meant for gatherings was unfamiliar for everyone. They seemed to be some of the first to arrive at that, which didn't help their case. Boulderstar felt uncomfortable, approaching what he thought may be another leader, Bearface following after, matching his leader's pace which was hindered oh so slightly by the limp in his step as he treaded lightly with one of his back paws.
Meanwhile Hailstorm stalked away, trying to find a quiet place to listen from like some sort of elder, growling to herself. She really wasn't the type for chitchat, but she was curious as to what these other strangers would be like.
Honeyseed sniffed the air in search for a scent of herbs that may give away other medicine cats instead.
Oaksplash was nervous as well, but he made himself look approachable, smiling as he picked a spot to settle down in, looking around for anyone that seemed approachable around.
