Tux walked through the territory, Morningleaf following close behind, and followed the freshest scent that he could find. Wildpoppy was the one that he wanted to talk to, and he felt that having an ex-medicine cat with him would be the best option. He just hoped that Squirrelstar would not tear his ears off for trespassing on her territory.

Raggedtail, Bramblingflight, Mossvine and Hurricanejaw stepped out of the undergrowth, their fur standing on end when they saw Tux and Morningleaf making their way through Echoclan's territory. Raggedtail lashed his tail, telling the others to stay there before stalking up to the Jinxclan cats.

"What are you two doing on our territory?" The deputy asked.

"Please forgive the unannounced intrusion, Raggedtail, but I need to speak with Wildpoppy. It very important." Tux said, not wanting to give any real information away since he did not know what the rest of Echoclan knew about Wildpoppy and him.

Morningleaf looked over at the rest of the group, easily outnumbering them, and shrank back slightly. She was still not a good fighter, and very worried about what might happen.

Raggedtail eyed Tux and Morningleaf suspiciously before nodding. "Alright, but you'll need to speak with Squirrelstar first. Follow me." The ginger tom turned and began heading through the undergrowth back towards Echoclan's camp. Bramblingflight,
Mossvine and Hurricanejaw fell into step around the two Jinxclan cats.

"Tux, is it?" Mossvine mewed, walking next to the tom. "Why do you need to speak with my daughter? Did she cause some trouble with your Clan?"

"I am not sure how much she told you," Tux said quietly to the older she-cat, "but It is about her kits."

He purposefully kept his voice low as her looked Mossvine in the eyes, not wanting the other cats to hear in case it would get them both in trouble.

Confusion flashed across Mossvine's face. She watched the tom carefully for several moments before her eyes widened in realization. "You?" She whispered. Hurricanejaw looked back over his shoulder at his mother.

"Mossvine? Are you okay?" He asked, looking at Tux then looking at Raggedtail. "We should hurry and head back, Witheredstalk and Wildpoppy can't watch Mossvine's kits all day." Raggedtail nodded, lashing his tail slightly before taking a turn and diving into the undergrowth, stating that they were going to take a shorter route back to camp.

The Echoclan cats didn't speak again until they reached the camp. Brindlecloud was coming out of the nursery, whispering something quietly to a queen. Witheredstalk hurried out of the nursery after her, ushering her kits and Mossvine's kits out of the nursery. "No more complaining, Wildpoppy needs to be alone." The cinnamon and ginger mottled queen mewed.

Squirrelstar looked up from her grooming, narrowing her eyes in suspicion at the Jinxclan cats. She got to her paws and crossed the clearing. "Tux, Morningleaf." She mewed, dipping her head in greeting. "What can I do for you? Is Jinxclan in trouble?"

"No, Jinxclan is perfectly well. I came here of my own accord, I actually need to see Wildpoppy. It is very important." Tux said, his eyes shining as he thought about what his kits might look like.

There was a slightly moment of sadness in his eyes that he was not there for their birth, and a hint of thankfulness that Wildpoppy did not end up the same way that Owldust did.

A nervous look flashed in Squirrelstar's eyes and she shooed the border patrol away. "Okay, you can go see Wildpoppy but please be careful. She lost one of her kits late last night." She mewed. "Brindlecloud knew the kit was going to pass away, but Wildpoppy is still taking it hard."

Tux seemed to shrink to a fraction of his size as tears welled up in his eyes.

"One of our kits died?" He asked in a hoarse voice.

Morningleaf looked shocked and worried about Tux, knowing that losing a kit on top of losing one of his mates was going to be hard to take.

"O-Our?" Squirrelstar gasped. Her gaze dropped to her paws for a moment before looking towards the nursery when she heard a kit wailing, only to stop a moment later. "I-I'm sorry that you lost one of your kits." She mewed, rising to her paws. "Come on, Wildpoppy and the rest of your litter are in the nursery by themselves."

She rested her tail on his shoulders. "I've lost a kit before too." She mewed quietly. "It never stops hurting, but I promise things will get better." Squirrelstar took her tail away before heading towards the nursery.
