Wincing he knew that you weren't supposed to mention anything of the sort "Apologies I ment-"

"Pssst! Limpet!" A hushed but sharp whisper turned his attention towards his medicine cat. This was going down hill quickly. Without words he motioned that he was kinda.. busy and watched the floof of a cat disappear into the crowd. 'What was that about?'

Woolyfur nodded quietly. "Hopefully. Morningstar hopes to avoid a battle though." With a small sigh, he looked over the clans, trying to pick out his clanmates. If something happened tonight, he wanted to be ready.

Cloudpool stared at her a moment, startled. Did this mean she didn't believe Frigidrose? "Ebonywing's fine. She was injured but the wound is healing fast." For a moment, he just looked at her before asking a question he'd been wondering about since he knew. "Ebonywing told me that Frigidrose lost her son? And that Frigidrose was trying to use his death as an excuse for her behavior. Why was she allowed to come?"

"Newborn. Lilystem's were born early this morning." Shimmerpelt replied. "And Larkfeather kitted just before the gathering." Silvernose added. "They'll be up and racing around camp before we know it. Poor Rippleshade's probably going to get so irritated." The old tom loved kits but eight kits would overwhelm anyone.

Mottledshade + Pigeonflight are with Leafstrike

Mottledshade and Pigeonflight strolled through the crowd, tails twined as the searched for a place to sit. Kits always made the pair feel happy but today's news had been especially wonderful. Lilystem and Larkfeather's large litters left the pair thinking wistfully of the days when Poppypaw and Stormpaw were kits. Of course the pair were very proud of their apprentices but Mottledshade was the type of cat who adored kits. She was never happier than when she was looking after kits. And of course, Pigeonflight adored being a father.
The pair eventually found a comfortable spot to rest and lay down, Mottledshade tucking her paws comfortably beneath her.
"Oh hello," She greeted, blinking curiously at the tom. Pigeonflight was quiet, allowing his mate to speak for both of them.

"Yeah. Shadedleaf said something about Lilystem and Larkfeather needing as much rest as possible before they have to go chasing after kits all day." Mistfall said. Willowtail wrinkled her nose. "That sounds stressful." The black molly had never liked the idea of being a queen. Stuck in the nursery for six months, trying to raise kits. Not her idea for a good time.

A new voice caught her attention, and Emberstar turned to see the leader who introduced herself as Powderstar approach them. "Not at all," she mewed, offering a small smile.

Willowcloud shrugged. "I don't know. She's one of Emberstar's closest friends, and usually gets to come to a Gathering if she requests so, but I have no idea why she'd want to come right after Cinderdawn died...." She paused, narrowing her eyes in puzzlement. "She's very sneaky. Everyone in the Clan knew she had a tendency to stir up trouble, but it seems they all forgot. It's weird. I'm unsure of what to do," she trailed off again before speaking once more, "I hope it doesn't lead our Clans to fight. That would be very unfortunate."

"I'm doing great!" he mewed. "Tawnykit's fine, don't worry. Daisyskip absolutely loves her," he purred with a bit of a chuckle. "And Lavenderkit is alright?" Suddenly, at the thought of the kits, he remembered the conversation with Willowcloud a couple days ago. "Um... there's something else, too. Willowcloud knows. She's not going to tell - or so she says.... I don't know, I'm just a little uneasy."

The siblings padded quietly into the clearing, avoiding the large bits of the crowd. Deciding it would be best to stay toward the edge, the two sat in silence there. Dewpaw was searching for the scents of the two Clans Frigidrose had warned him about, and Brightpaw simply looked around for someone who seemed approachable.

A sad look flashed in Squirrelstar's eyes when Ramhorn mentioned him wanting her to meet his kits when they were apprentices. The look disappeared as quickly as it appeared, replaced with a happy smile. "I would be happy too." Squirrelstar purred, her tail kinking over her back. "I'm glad you found where you belong. We miss you of course, but you are where you're meant to be."

"Hello." Raggedtail mewed to the she-cat as she came up to him. "I'm Raggedtail, the deputy of Echoclan."

"Lavenderkit is doing well. She mainly just sticks with Bubblekit whenever she leaves the nursery." Brindlecloud mewed, a purr edging its way into her voice. The purr immediately died when Appleheart mentioned Willowcloud. "W-what? How did she figure it out?"

Crowpaw nodded. "I guess we overlooked using honey." He mewed. "And Foamkit is doing great. She was running around with her brother when we left camp earlier. And Squirrelstar is doing better as well." Crowpaw mewed. "Has everything been well in Forestclan?"

Success! A polite introduction, achieved! The young tom was gleeful, and he struggled not to show it as he nodded along to the older cat's words. "Thank you," he mewed, after he was sure Rowanpelt was finished speaking, "and may Starclan bless your clan in the season-change. I'll agree, I'm really glad that new-leaf is almost here. I was getting tired of trying to wade through snow which is, might I say, a significant challenge for someone like me with short legs, making the snow level sometimes taller than I am and wow, I am rambling," the tom finally took a breath, giving the other one a sheepish smile, "it's my first time here. Or at a gathering of any kind, ever. I'm nervous. Um, anyway. I hope Pineclan has had a good leafbare. As good as a leafbare can be. You have to stop me at some point or I'll keep talking forever."

The topic shifting to something happier made Lionheart's shoulders visibly relax as she blew out a sigh. "It doesn't ever change, that feeling," she said, glancing around at all the cats, "I was... seven, I think, when I went to my first gathering. Not here though, a very long, long way away. I remember thinking all the cats in the world must be gathered there, but more cats kept coming every time after that." She paused briefly, before offering the other a nervous sort of smile. "I have a favour to ask," she admitted, "would you mind introducing me to your mother? Squirrelstar, was it? I would hate to interrupt her conversation but I'm sure my deputy would be even more excited by the prospect of a whole clan of new friends than I am by the prospect of an alliance."

the leader's voice was as welcoming as the ocean waters during leafbare; good thing ravenstar knew how to swim. "I've noticed that quite a few other clans are just starting out and many have disbanded as well. Do you know what is causing all of these refugees? Is Lilyclan a newly formed clan, or have you guys been around for a while?"

the ginger tom jumped onto the leader's rock while his clan-mates spread through the crowd of cats. his face held no expression, but his mind was glum. foxstar was happy to have new clan-mates, but the number of cats seeking new homes was growing. yet another refugee, whitesong from lunarclan, had arrived at their doorstep. they of course had taken her in but foxstar was worried. had other clans accepted refugees into their ranks? foxstar settled down at the far right of the rock, patiently waiting for another leader to talk to him.

magpiepaw had been planning on staying with brightwhisker to look for former clan-mates, but tigerpaw had dragged him over to the leader's rock to see the leaders up close. an apprentice started a conversation with them and before he could reply, tigerpaw was already talking away. "hi! i'm tigerpaw, and this here is magpiepaw. we're both from mapleclan. is this your first gathering?"

Beestripe looked at Lionheart, surprised that the she-cat seemed to have come from a different Clan before this one. Before she could ask more about it, Lionheart was asking her to introduce her to Squirrelstar. The dark tabby's eyes glittered slightly, pleased that she might be able to help her mother form a new alliance. "Sure, let's go!" The young warrior turned and led Lionheart over to where Squirrelstar and Ramhorn were.

"Mom, this is Lionstar. She's the leader of Groveclan." Beestripe chirped confidently.

It surprised her that she was willing to hint at her history from another clan, but she shook it off, smiling gratefully at the younger molly. "Thank you," she whispered as they approached the other ginger, before she drew herself up taller in order to be able to nod her head respectfully to Squirrelstar as she was introduced. "It's nice to meet you too, Squirrelstar," she replied cordially, "the gathering is big, but the overall atmosphere is very nice. Everyone here seems friendly, even young she-cats that you nearly knock over when your head is in the clouds." She gave Beestripe another amused smile, before turning her attention back to the leader of the other clan. "And yourself? I hope the gathering has been going well for you as well."
