Journeyman Ferondir of Mira ~ Lanayaru City, an Inn ~ Day 7, NightFerondir slept only a few hours that night. He couldn't stop thinking about what they were about to do. He felt the same fear as before, but now he understood it just a little more. There would be warriors, the best warrior in all Hyrule, the last surviving of the twelve. They'd have to fight him.
His dreams were filled with violence at such a level it could be considered art.
Captain Jakub of the Wind Runner ~ Lanayaru City, an Inn ~ Day 7, NightThe Captain chose the bed nearest the door, and carefully set his sword leaning against the wall.
He tucked a dagger under his pillow and slept with his fist locked around it. None would catch him off guard.
Journeyman Ferondir of Mira ~ Lanayaru City, an Inn ~ Day 8, Very Early MorningFerondir woke and stepped out. The early morning air was cold and dry, but the desert held a silence that calmed Ferondir to his core. He wondered where the zora had gone; where those despicable demon children had taken him.
"
At least they didn't take her," he muttered. He'd have a lot of explaining to do at the Guild if the twins had taken Shiallia, his apprentice. What would he have said?
He rubbed his arm to warm it.
Yeah, we... uh... traded her for a skull, he thought. Even in his head it sounded lame. They would have bannished him for sure.
"
I should teach her our laws, first thing."
He leaned against the door frame. His breath misted in front of him. It really was cold at night, not at all like when they came here.
He decided to head back inside and wait for the others to wake.
He rummaged in his bag for a certain book.
"
There you are," he breathed.
He hugged his mother's diary as he found a nook by the window.
He opened it to a page at random.
Freya of Mira wrote:Every day, my boy seems to grow fonder of the woods. Fonder of the animals, and the trees. I know he'll care for the Faron Woods, just as I do. I'll teach him what I know when he's old enough.
Freya of Mira wrote:His playmates seem to really pull him out of his shell. I know he'll grow to be as independent as even Cassandra...
Ferondir frowned. Cassandra? "
Who's that?" he muttered.
He decided she must be one of his mother's friends, and continued reading. But he didn't see the words, he heard them, in his mother's soft and calming voice.
He'd never admit it, but he missed his mother more then ever, being in this strange place. With people he'd met barely a week before.
He heard a rustling and hid the book behind him. Looking over, he saw it was only Jakub, rolling over.
The only person who knew about the book, besides himself, was Zephyrus. It was the one thing
Zeph knew never to tease him about.
He shut the diary, hid it in his cloak, and stared out at the city.
