"Wookie." Aria corrected, slightly amused. "It's a large, furry creature. And what exactly is a... graceling?" She watched the girl. Was everyone here from another dimension? She could handle ewoks, jawas, and even space slugs, but not this.

((On a side note~ I love the book Fire :3 I own it, and I've read it... like.. a bazillion times xD))

Freya laughed, "A big furry creature. Ha!" she giggled to herself until that girl asked what a gracling was. "What is a gracling? They're people with funky eyes and powers. Well , not powers. Like some people can do stupid things, like bake cakes really well. But I can disapear. Not vanish but turn invisable." Freya twisted to see that none else was looking then changed. It was like one moment she was here and the next she was gone.

Maggie Ciar wrote:Artemis blinked. "Clanker?" he inquired."And since you ask, I am from the early 21st century, Ireland."

Deryn did some quick math and her jaw dropped open. "The 21st century?" she echoed, staring at Artemis. "But you look so... so..." she gestured at his clothes, searching for the right word: "Normal!" He wasn't wearing anything that looked even remotely futuristic. His suit looked similar to some of hers, although obviously much fancier and more expensive. For a moment, shocked, she couldn't form a sentence. Then she stepped closer, looking at Artemis intently. "The 21st century. Barking spiders," she swore, shaking her head with a laugh of wonder. "I'm glad to see that Ireland, at least, survives this war. What about England?" she asked, leaning forward as a horrible thought occurred to her. "England is still powerful, right? The Darwinists didn't give in?" Part of Deryn didn't want to know the answer. She didn't know what she would do if Mr. Fowl told her that England had collapsed in the war. If she knew that the Clankers won, Deryn didn't know how she could continue fighting.

Artemis raised an eyebrow, and his mouth quirked, the closest he would come to laughing. "Believe me, humans have not gotten much smarter during the time between your world and mine." He paused, recalling information. "Yes, England is doing quite well. You needn't worry."

Aria spun, looking about, muttering several oaths. "Blast! Where are you, infernal girl?" She couldn't stand not seeing her. It made her feel so... vulnerable. She started to feel proud of herself, dispute her situation. Two large words, all at once too. infernal, Vulnerable. She didn't recall exactly how she knew those words, only that they fit her purposes.

Freya laughed again then became visable. "Ha! See! Right behind you." She shifted into a more comfortable postion. "Back at home, I was a spy for the king." she grinned then stood up straight, the smile disapeering from her face. Oh no! I have to get home! Damn. I have to give the news that they will attack. "Listen, I have no time." Freya said sharply, "I must get home. Please," she begged, "Do you have any, any idea at all how to get home?"

((Glad you like Fire!))

Deryn relaxed with a grin. "Good," she said, satisfied. "I knew we could make it." At least she knew now. It was good to know, even if she did feel like she was cheating by asking someone who already knew what happened. She felt a twinge of regret- did this mean that her friend Alek, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary, would be defeated? She wasn't sure she wanted to know the answer to that one. Instead, she cleared her throat and swept her hair out of her eyes. "Well, Mr. Fowl," she murmured. "Thank you for your help. But I need to get back on board the Leviathan. Now, who did you say was in charge around here?"

"I believe it is the man with the book." Artemis told her. "But I somehow doubt he will willingly send us back. We were brought here for a reason, even if that reason is evil." He added coldly.

Aria jumped, almost pulling our her pistol and shooting the girl. "Blast! Don't do that, I could have put a hole through you." She scowled, pulling her hand away from her side to cross her arms. "I told you already, I don't know anything."

Freya sighed. "Okay. Okay, you don't know anything." She leaned against a wall. Freya sighed, yet again. Maybe . . . she is telling the truth. Oh, I could use Nelly here right know. Nelly, her only friend from home, could tell if someone was lying or not. "Oh well, We should go find someone who knows, unless you want to be stuck in this crazy world forever."

Butler twitched slightly when a person pulled a gun, but showed no intention of doing anything else. He was, after all, still in a good position to protect Artemis. He watched the strange man leaf through the pages of the thick book, feeling strangely apprehensive.
